location is good. but property is too old. renovation work is ongoing. hopefully it will be better once done.

The stay was excellent. The staff was very polite and supportive..The food was very special and tasty and prepared in a very healthy manner..Had all types of food veg and non veg and my family had enjoyed to the maximum..Overall a very excellent stay with very clean rooms and hospitality was praiseworthy and value for money..

all good supportive staff, food is ok . the only thing in my room wifi is unavailable. other wise at that price with complementary breakfast it's a good place to stay

Location of the property was excellent. View from our Room was amazing(only Premium rooms). However apart from this nothing is worth mentioning about this property. It is an old property with poor maintenance. We were not even provided basic toiletries. Wardwore was without a handle and even our Breakfast was cold and very basic. Overall a very moderate Resort with very basic facilities.

Amazing staying experience. Room is perfect. Food is very good and cost is less compared to outside hotel. Location is at the bank of Chlika lake so no problem to get ferry service for visiting Kalijai Temple.

We travelled from Kharagpur to Bangalore by NH16 during Durga Puja 2025. Stayed one night at Panthanivas, OTDC, Barkul at Chilika. We loved the guest house surrounded by abundant greenery and Chilka lake. There is an attached restaurant which serves tasty fresh foods. Prawn and fish dishes are excellent.

Location , food , services/ hospitality were excellent . However the rooms and surrounding need to be repaired and updated .

Barkul Panthanivas is the ideal base for visiting Kaijai Temple — close to the lake, peaceful, and offers easy boat access to the temple island.

excellent place just beside chilka lake.best place to stay in huge area full of garden. rooms are just like which provide cottage like feeling .every room have the view of the chilka .Dinner space is so spacious and food quality is just like homemade.thank you to all staffs. only one negative point is that toilet flash was not working. otherwise I would have given 5 start

Rooms were not hygienic, both room doors were not locked due to doors being unconditional.

Value for money. Location and rooms were spacious and the balcony was amazing. Hospitality was nice. Accessible. Needs a bit of upkeep - since flush was not working well in our room.

Like any govt facility hotels, location is outstanding.. Boating booking counter is just adjacent.. Lake view from the balcony.. And in spite of govt funded hotel the service is commendable.. Washroom is neat & clean.. Restaurant food is of high quality.. I strongly recommend staying over there if anyone want to spend a night in Chilika..

It’s just located at perfect place no worries to locate it. The Panthaniwas is well maintained though it was built in 1980’s still it stand perfect. Food was awesome both veg n non veg. Finally the staff, they are so friendly so co-operating.

Location of the property is just beside the Chilika lake ,but little bit distant from the railway station which made us inconvenient to reach at the night time..Rooms were very old with improperly working geyser and stained commode and with hard mattress which made our stay hectic with a toddler..Blankets were not hygienic and the balcony was terrible with old slabs and with pigeon's shit all around.No complementary breakfast was provided on the second day until we asked for many times as it got very late to catch our train , that too at 9.30 AM.It can be well maintained still and not at all suitable for the price they quoted.. Disappointed 😔

It was very cozy stay in Barkul OTDC Panthanivas. Location was very good as well as the quality of food. Service was also very good. But one thing that was unexpected from OTDC, in our delux room, no geyser was present. Actually it was disconnected. This made me unhappy.
