I booked this property in Mahabaleshwar through MakeMyTrip and it turned out to be the worst stay of my life.
We arrived at the gate and waited two full hours in heavy rain because it was locked. The contact number provided rang 20‑25 times with no answer.
Only after calling MakeMyTrip for help did I receive a cook’s number. He finally came and opened the gate while my family and I sat drenched in the car.
We checked in at 5 p.m.—exhausted and hungry—only to be told there was no food available on‑site. We had to go back out in the rain to buy dinner ourselves.
SaffronStays offered no support whatsoever during our stay. The cook, Mr Shailesh, was extremely rude and spoke to us disrespectfully.
The next morning, despite the continued downpour, we were ordered to check out by 10 a.m. because “all rooms are booked.” Under pressure we left by 11 a.m., soaked and unhappy.
This experience ruined our Mahabaleshwar trip. Terrible communication, zero hospitality, and outright rude staff. I’d give 0 stars if I could. Save your money and stay elsewhere.
