Review Of Svatma Mayavaram

We stayed at Svatma Ramnivas Mayavaram for one evening / morning. The resort is aesthetically superb and the staff are outstanding - they do everything they can to help the guests. We arrived very late at night, but we had called ahead and they had well prepared a south indian meal to our preference and served it to us. The staff is the sole reason I have rated the resort as poor and not terrible - it felt unfair to the staff to rate it as terrible. But this resort did not feel ready for occupancy to us. We had booked multiple rooms. One of the rooms had a nonworking sink - the sole sink in that room. One room had such a tremendous stink - smelled moldy to me - that even the staff agreed they had to move me to another room. They also moved the guests in the room with the broken sink to another room. Next morning, to our utter surprise, no hot water in any room! The staff spent 35-40 minutes trying to fix it. Then they told us that only 2 or 3 room had adequate water pressure. The rest they knew had “pressure pump” issues. Finally they gave ys yet another room - and some of us shared that bathroom to have a shower. Even that bathroom, the shower faucet kept coming off, and we just kind of gave up. Bottomline - great staff but the property felt completely unready for guests. We paid for a 5-star experience (the place is expensive) and received a very poor experience instead. We will likely never stay at a Svatma branded location again. I don’t like writing down reviews but we don’t want anyone to else to have the experience we did.
