The cottage is a little creepy .

I want refund for my stay there. I couldn’t even spend a night in that place because of the dust and smell in the room.

The stay was horrible!! Dirty smelly room, dirty linen. We asked to clean the washroom and the room as the floor was dirty and muddy. They used the same mop for washroom and room . The condition of the mop was terrible. The owner was full of attitude. We booked as it was marked as pet friendly stay. The owner demanded additional 2500/- and said ‘why did you come without calling’. Very poorly managed property by unprofessionals.

Pathetic experience,no proper services,no dining facility,room heaters are not working,geaser is terrible,no room service.Non veg food is not allowed inside.I booked this bcz of my pet & they asked for extra pet charges.No maintenance of room,smell is too bad.Cupboards are not even opening.Fancy pics to fool customers on MMT.Not at all recommended to families

I didn't stay because the rooms were unclean , small and had a foul smell and extra charges were requested for my pet

Rooms were very small ,unclean and smelled very bad , Inspite of raising an escalation MMT also didn't support in terms of refund or cancellation .

The hosts were good, friendly and helpful. I did not get the room which I actually booked, hosts were kind enough to call me and inform me about it, they also offered me a refund. My room's amenities was average, no TV, snacks, they have common kettle.

It was a very nice experience and hospitality and treating the guest were kind and respectful... Enjoyed staying and wish to come back...

Stayed at the property for 2 days. It is a vintage bungalow with 5 or 6 rooms situated at a good looking location surrounding wise & it is around 4 kms from the main city. It has a caretaker whose name is Amit and a cook/maintenance person named Ashish. Both are very polite & helpful. We had a baby with us & Ashish helped us a lot with our requirements. Amit was also very helpful with car bookings as well as local sight seeing related & other queries. It is a private property which they have turned into a bed & breakfast type place. The breakfast has limited options like idli, poha, bread butter, tea, coffee, horlicks etc. The washrooms were clean. 1 of the 2 rooms which we were in had unclean bedsheets, which they immediately changed when we brought it to their notice. The rooms, the common area & the overall interior part of the bungalow needs cleaning & little maintenance because it’s an old vintage property and also because the weather there is mostly cold & damp. There is mold at a few places. They provide heater in every room which works fine. The geyser & the room heater cannot be used together, they have to be used one at a time. It’s a small thing which if they fix then it would be convenient for guests. The property is a vintage bungalow & not some modern hotel & hence overall expectations should be managed accordingly. The exterior entrance area & the lower level garden are well maintained & picturesque. The property has a nice old timey vibe to it. You can go for it if you like vintage style bungalows & don’t mind the slight issues that may come along with such properties. P. S. If you are booking through different portals or directly from the property itself do confirm your booking in advance and have the confirmation with you in some form.

Food is good and the rooms are clean and neat. The locality is near places like boat houses and gardens.

Location of the property is not suitable for senior citizens. No hotels near by. Rooms are congested. Observed leakage of water from commode.

The hotel is very near to the railway station and is at an accessible spot to the rest of the place. The rooms were royal themed and very well maintained, with neat washrooms. Amenities like hot water, lawn, geysers, towels, parking are also available. Badminton rackets are also available to play in the lawn. The hotel owners were very nice and humble and took care of each of our needs. They even arranged a bonfire at the end of our stay as a celebration. They can arrange for vehicles as well for around and local transportation. It was a great stay and I would highly recommend it for any group of people!

I had a brief yet pleasant stay at this property, which is conveniently located near the town and the city's main attractions. The accommodation is reasonably priced, and the brothers managing the property provide excellent service. The breakfast was homely and delicious, adding to the overall experience. It’s a great choice for a budget-friendly stay.

Spacious rooms, good location and very warm and welcoming staff who went out of their way and organised the toy train tickets which was impossible to get online. Will definitely visit again!

A cozy stay and escape from the typical hotel experience, set amidst Ooty’s lush green pine trees and cool climate. The warm hospitality from Amit , Ashish and amma made it feel like home. It’s a beautiful, peaceful spot to relax, with misty, scenic views perfect for a refreshing getaway. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try a homestay!✨

This is best homestay we have stayed in whilst travel-ling in ooty. The room was lovely, very spacious with nice bathroom. The bed was comfortable with clean fresh bedding. The homely touches around the place made it feel extra special. The location is amazing, up in the hills surrounded pine trees and nature where you can go for nice treks or just sit and watch the world go by whilst listening to the birds. The very best thing about this place though is the host, mr amit who is so friendly, so welcoming and so helpful. We had a campfire at night in the outdoor with a chance to just relax and chat. If you’re looking for a nice, peaceful getaway where you will be made to feel at home then just book red house homestay - you won’t be disappointed. Thank you so much for the best 1 day stay.

Nice homestay with attentive and hospitable staff. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. The house has a heritage decor to it overall.

The day we reached the property, we were told that the room is already occupied by some other family. But we have booked it from MakeMyTrip with full advanced payment. While arguing, they put the blame on MakeMyTrip that during the rush, the overlapping happened from the online end. We were 4 and were forced to stay in a very small room. At night we had no other option but to compromise. When I checked the review outside MakeMyTrip this has been a common issue for this property. From MakeMyTrip, you should take full responsibility and have proper surveys on such properties and eliminate them from your booking system. Otherwise such harassment is upon you also.
