Met the expectation. The stay was really good along with two meals which were very nice. The kids had a good time. We had only planned for a day's trip. Should plan for more than a day's trip, so that enough time can be spent in the hotel as well as outside.

Great location

Great location, easy to get in and out of the city. The staff was wonderful. The hotel is well maintained. The beds were very firm, too firm for my liking. The food was good. I, especially, enjoyed the view of the sunset.

Superb experience of 1 night stay

1. Rooms neat and huge 2. You may carry your towel, slipper, paste etc. 3. Food was great and simple. 4. Staff was very helpful 5. The guide, bhavesh was quite cooperative and also guides well to family members. 6. Horse ride to 5 points, plus market, and back to car parking rs 2500. 7. Luggage charge rs300. Loved it

Nice property, recently renovated and hence everything is new. Clean and spacious bathroom, big room however the bed and mattress were too hard, mirrors needs to be replaced. There is a need for a wardrobe, since it’s recently renovated i guess that too will be procured soon. Nice staff and good homely food. Wifi is not accessible in rooms which needs to be improved.

Nice weekend spent at treebo cecil resort, matheran

Pros: - location: amid-st the jungle; nice secluded place for a peaceful stay. In the middle of famous tourist points so easy to visit the points. - food: buffet available for all 3 meals - breakfast (complimentary, lunch (optional - paid, dinner (optional - paid; food quality and taste are decent - staff: cordial staff accommodating almost all of your requests - room sizes: both rooms and bathrooms are large enough to easily accommodate a family of 3 to 4 - availability of horses, coolies, etc: horses and coolies were available effortlessly cons: - cleanliness & hygiene: bit of a concern maybe because of the climate and the secluded location (there was some fungus on the blankets and bed linen which they mentioned is because of the monsoon weather. There were a few insects roaming around - cockroaches, lizards, frogs, etc. - monkeys: the property has a lot of monkeys visiting them almost throughout the day. Do not put any of your food outside the rooms. Do not keep your room doors open.

Value for money

Cesil resort is a very big property, spacious rooms, big bathroom and changing room, big verandah in front of the room. Ample space for children to play. The hotel is located in the city of matheran. Lot of space for improvement such as no proper sign boards to reach the property, room service needs lot of improvement, genset back up and wifi service not proper. Overall stay was good for family or big groups.

The resort is decent as far as location and natural beauty is concerned. However, the room and amenities are of pretty average level with even the basic toilet etc have issues of flush not working properly. The rooms are good in size and have ac also but during the day time the voltage does not appear to support ac leading to feeling hot. The same was fine during the night though. The food quality and taste is ok. For the first time visitors the resort is at a height so one needs to leave the vehicles at the parking from where one has to go up for about 35-40 minutes. We hired horses for the same which cost us rs 1200 per person. This included the other sightseeing as well and rhea ascent to the property but excluded descent since we were to stay here one night. There was huge bargaining for the rates of the horses with the quotes being from rs 2600 per person to rs 1500 per person. Finally after a lot of bargain we could close at rs 1200 per person. The horse ride was an awesome experience for sure, though.

Average place with mediocre service and facilities

Average place with only mediocre facilities. Not so clean rooms, linen not changed unless asked by the customer. Tv was not working, intercom not working, limited food option, very slow customer service.
