Booked a room for my family in this terrible cottage on a saturday for a night stay. The price was way too much but since the rooms in ooty was totaly booked, i went ahead to book this room which was 20 km away from ooty. The price for the stay was upwards. We reached the place by 9 pm. There was no drinking water. Even the water in the bathroom was colour with soiled residue. There was no fan. No soap. Worst of all there was not a person or caretaker to attend guest concerns. We were left stranded without basic facilities and the owner of the property did not even care to look into these when i called to ask for these. He replied it's night already and these issues can be looked at early in the morning. The temperature at this place was mid 20s at night and we could not sleep because there was no airflow inside the room. There is no ventilation. We have a kid and could not open the windows also since the fear of wild animals entering the place remains prevalent. The next morning the owner walked in cool and said the water will be muddy only because of failed rainfall. I didn't want to fight with him because we had no energy because of a sleepless night. He owns a small grocery store just below the cottage, yet he charged us for toiletries like tooth brush, shampoo and soap. We canceled the ooty trip because of this unpleasant stay at this wasted cottage.
