A small retail shop is nearby. Place is well connected. The owner is very helpful and has good communication skills. However the road is not proper.

Staff were decent. Room, bathroom was average, kind of congested. Tv was not working. Overall for a night stay was average.

Home stay turns nightmare
Rated 2.0 by Pradip Mukherjee . Family Traveller . Sep 16, 2024
it was mentioned that the property was only 6 minutes walk from neigrims shillong but in reality it was more than 30 minutes walking distance. Our mobile network didn’t work at all. The wash room was horrible, the sheet of commode was broken, hot water was not coming through taps. We were senior citizens and we feel being deceived. We deserve refund. Even the door couldn’t be properly closed from inside. The wifi was not accessible from room and our mobile network was totally unavailable from room. Really horrible

Good host but lazy workers
Rated 2.0 by Rituja Chatterjee . Solo Traveller . Oct 29, 2023
The host is really good, but the workers are really lazy who you basically interact with on a regular basis for food, water and others. What absolutely enraged me was their reason to not cook anything extra apart from the pratha and aloo because no guests and they want to wrap up dinner early. This is the reply i get at 7:00 pm in the evening. Trust me because i was sick i accommodated with their being but the fact is they're extremely lazy and told me the same thing when i requested for milk tea on a sunday morning at 9:00 am. The reply was since it is a sunday and shops are closed we can only provide black tea. Mind you this homestay is not located in the middle of nowhere but offers a very good location and they tell me they cannot get milk. Are u freaking kidding me?
i had to immediately call the host, she was generous enough to coerce them to get milk from the market and make the tea for me. Now i understand homestay is a very basic concept and can provide bare minimum specially if it's in a remote location but what i don't understand are these tantrums of homestays located in a city and acting like they're in middle of nowhere and where nothing is available. Another thing is my booking included breakfast so when i enquired abt why they had charged me in the bill, i was told by the worker that it was told by ma'am and when i tried calling ma'am she didn't pick up, ofcourse. My suggestion is don't take bookings it u can't provide basic stuff, again you're doing no favour to me, i am paying u for the service and if u cannot provide the basics then just put it out in front in the booking description that we're not well equipped to provide basic services also. And please fire your lazy workers who don't know to deal with guests

Poor Stay
Rated 2.0 by Vishwas Ujire . May 22, 2023
Winnie homestay is just a hostel charging homestay and hotel prices. Very very small room and balcony is a common balcony which anyone else can use, resulting in lack of privacy. Bathroom is so small that one can't stretch hands in any direction. Location is nonmynsong which is far from anywhere. Road leading upto the property is bad too. Everything about this place is so bad that even rs. 600-700- per night also is a higher price given the competition.

Pathetic stay.
Rated 1.0 by Devershi Adhikari . Group Traveller . Dec 12, 2024
The family room and the basic standard room for which they are charging and maintained in pathetic condition. Please review this homestay and remove it. The bathrooms given in family room are dirty and so small that you can’t even move once you enter and try to close the door. The shared bathrooms they provide are beyond comment, water leakage could be seen outside. When requested to upgrade the room with extra charge, the owner was not at all humble enough and had the audacity to ask us to be grateful that we even got a room and that we can’t expect 5 star treatment in a basic room, but the facilities are below basic. If they are charging for our stay and making themselves available, how can they even be so rude to customers for some basic requests. I want to say repeatedly that the owner lady is a frustrated rude lady with no basic manners. Morning while checking out, there was no one available in reception. On repeated calling there was no one to even respond. The homestay has pathetic kitchen with sinks filled with dirty used utensils that stink-ed throughout the night.
