Rhododendron Exotic Resort, Darjeeling

These was our most costliest stay from the trip and worst in terms of services. Firstly, we booked the room for 3 people and instead they give us the smallest room available hardly sufficient for only two persons and asked us to manage. The room didn’t had working bathroom latches and the shower stop-cock had came loose. The property didn’t had water supply for most part of the first day, only in the evening we had a chance to get a shower. The manager uday sherpa also charged us a commission of 500 inr for booking a cab of 700 inr, which was informed to us by the cab driver later, we were actually made to believe the cab costed 1200. And when we complained about all these he tried to falsify a favour that he had not charged for the extra person, which in fact we paid for at the time of booking. Won’t recommend it to anyone ever, you will get much better hotels at better locations at a cheaper rate.

Awesome stay and superb location. Loved it

We had pleasant stay at this property for 2 days & 2 nights. Staff behavior & food quality has been top rated. There could be accessibility issue for some as one has to manage about 50 stairs to reach main property downhill. Kanchandjonga 's majestic view from room could be a treat but we were not lucky enough as it was all along foggy during our stay period.

Very pathetic condition of this resort. It is 10 km away from mall road. No communication only u have only one way. Go by walk and it will take 2 hrs to travel mall road. Room is wet-ted with rainy water. No bed. No chair, table, geyser is not working. Toilet is very dirty. More than worse. Negative mark i can give only this resort. I mean this poor quality hut. One more thing behavior of manager of this resort is very rude. If u bring one non veg thali. Next day any body want to clear all dues. Wicked managers demand for 2 non veg thali. If u ask how. Simply wicked manager reply that it was not one non veg thali. It was two. Simply start to threat customer. I advise u all guys never stay in this hut.

Liked the location, but rooms are too cold, temperature insulation was not working at all. Room heating and service was not good. As per manager, due to year end, help was less. Room heater was provided but was suggested not to use for long as there was power stability issues.

I and my wife stayed for 2 days in this resort. The hosts were very warm, friendly and helpful. The stay and food were good. We saw snowfall there. Although for snowfall, there was a power outage. But the rest of the stay was comfortable. It is definitely value for money.

There is some problem with the address almost every visitor thinks that this is near to mall road but actually this is far far away from mall road. Also there is no vehicle system at the hotel.

The plot wrong location in map showing near to city but totally in a isolated location. No electricity, backup, hot water. And we asked about these he tried to beat us and challenged is that go and complain anywhere nothing will do as this is a ‘gurkha land’. I am trying to file a police case in my own state all these including racist and terrorist comment ‘gurkha land’. He also abused my wife. Never go for this hotel.

Though the temperature was nearly 6 deg c, there is no in-room kettle facility. The light fitting was not properly working. The staffs are well behaved. But we are now more aware that not to go with the name of the hotel.

Everything was of worst level. Worst staff, worst services, worst food. 1. No water for bathing. 2. Room did not had lock. We have to take our luggage along with while sightseeing. 3. There was no menu. They were asking what you want to cook and they will get that vegetable and cook. Only had aloo gobhi with them. 4. In breakfast they only offered maggi. Nothing else. What is the point of getting a room with breakfast. 5. Cleaning was an issue. 6. On the day of checkout we have to leave without even bath because they did not have water available. 7. Also even for toilet there was no water, my guest have to use toilet paper only. This is first time I had such a worst experience with MMT. Really disappointed.

Great stay. Recommended for Darjeeling visitors.

Little far from mal but very nice location.

The location of the hotel differs from Google map, it is near about 5 km away from the Mall road. The overall facilities of the hotel were good, rooms were well maintained.

Hotel out of city taxi charges a lot.

Good resort, good weather, good place.

No ac, no room service, no bell service, cheap room with wet walls and foul smell allocated instead of costly cottage for which booking was done, poor service and poor behavior of hotel manager, no shampoo, no toothpaste.

Very near to nature and near to flora and fauna, stay in this hotel like all dream come true.

Although the hotel is situated little far from the City, but the location is awesome and the view from the room is mesmerising. Early morning overview of Kanchenjunga is a plus point. Very clean n tidy hotel

Location is good but far from the City. Food was average. Staff is very cooperative specially Mr. Deven. The only thing which bothered us was rooms were damp n so that so much chilled
