Roinam Retreat

Location: Little away from the city , located near the Umiam Lake. Good road connectivity. Excellent peaceful location. Food: Great food with wonderful taste. Kudos to the chef for maintaining the actual authenticity and taste of the cuisines listed on the menu. Rooms: One of the main attraction of the place is their cottage. We were guided towards the first cottage and the rooms were well maintained. Clean bathrooms, Clean bedsheets. Perfectly cozy room with a great sense of interior and feel. The view from the cottage was amazing. And yes Soundproof rooms i guess. 🤙🏻 Amenities: Every essential amenities were provided to use. Including a hot water bag, which i didn't use but was impressed to see the small details they have taken care of. Staff: Very well behaved and welcoming and is very quick with the instructions. *Though in next morning ,for ordering breakfast i contacted their every number provided on the arrival but none of them responded after trying multiple times,so i had to call them from balcony and tell them, However after sometime every number started calling back but yes till then my order was recieved, So it ended well. I think there may be some network issue* Safety: A very homely environment with the greatness and quietness within it. Not too far from the main road. The environment was very peaceful with the sounds of the nature which was a breeze to the ears. A small, Safe and surreal place with great privacy. *The price may seem overpriced for the qualities of the rooms and place but you have Roinam Retreats for that. This isn't a place just to stay for a night . This place is for the people who wants to feel disconnected from daily hassle dazzle and experience the sounds of the nature, the long tress does provide the experience of being in a tiny forest, the breeze from the umiam lake and lastly the all over package of experience this place provides in what they have priced it for and i would happily pay* Hope to visit again.

Roinam retreat offers stay in camps and cottages. We stayed in a camp, but the cottages looked well built and luxurious as well. The camps are very well designed and comfortable. The area has mane tall trees and structures designed around them. They have a nice swimming pool with a distant view of the lake. However, one cannot walk to the lake from here or have a good view from every corner. The bathroom was nice. It was surrounded by tall trees and one can hear the crickets chirping all day long- it was very relaxing if one truly loves nature. It is very unique that way. The food was tasty and portions were good. The staff is very helpful. Overall, we had a pretty pleasant stay here at roinam retreat and would recommend it.

- far away from city so is-int a place you'd come to party. - electricity backup turns off after 12 midnight i think, pretty reasonable tho. - food is good enough. We stayed for 4 nights in one of their cottages. We arrived fairly early around 7 am on a sunday at the resort, staff were asleep and felt like they were in a daze lol. They arranged early check in for us since one of the guests had left early which was nice. They also provide laundry service with a charge but they did forget to return it to us and only returned after we asked on our last day. Service is hit or miss, sometimes they are very quick to respond and other times not as much. But all of them are minor issues and i would definitely come back again.

I stay in roinam in may 2023 & it was my first all girlss trip. The stay was awesome. The staff is courteous. Their staff named Prince was helpful in sorting in bookings as we were in a large group, Prakash was helpful in all the room service and other chore requirements. Their cook was a savior for us we did not get good taste food in shillong and he cooked so well, from simple morning tea to chinese or north indian, every single food item was delicious. The rooms were very clean, we booked tent and cottage both. Only one issue is with the power supply there as we struggled for hot water for bathing. Advice to sort this issue rest everything is well managed. One of my preferred stay in shillong.

Cottages amidst a forest. The rooms are very clean with all modern amenities. Cottages have balconies with table and chair where you get the feeling of being in a house at a hill top . Service is average , food is average . Don’t expect 5 star service. You will go to reception and won’t find anyone or you will find them enjoying a video who would be not be bothered to ask you about your need or would be very reluctant to even listen to you. If you are okay with this kind of service you can spend a day or two here. Location and the rooms are quite awesome

It's a beautiful stay surrounded by trees and umiam lake view. The staff is very helpful and the food is fresh. We stayed in one of the tents and it had every facility required for the stay. They gave us extra blankets when they couldn't arrange for a heater. Mostly though i'm thankful they arranged to get the hooligans in our next tent away to different location when they were singing through a loudspeaker late at night. I'd recommend this place for anyone who wants a peaceful stay away from the city.

If you wanna get lost in the woods, and enjoy the serene beauty of nature, then roinam retreat is the perfect place to go to. Away from the hustle bustle city life, one can enjoy the calm nature along with some blues and scotch. The cottage was quite comfortable along with the balcony. The service of the staff was quite prompt and professional. The food quality was as per the standard of the resort. To be specific, one should not miss the khaasi cuisine while at roinam.

We have booked a tent. The tent was good, specially the bathroom was really good considering it is a bathroom of a tent. The cleanliness and hygiene is really good. Food was also good, but little overpriced. The ambience is outstanding, specially in the morning. You can walk down on the pebbled road amid-st pine trees and get an overlooking view of umium lake. Overall the experience was quite good and special mention here is mr. Chetri, who is very helpful and prompt.

Peace amid-st the nature. Beautiful place to spend time with the loved ones far away from city hectic life. Staff were also good and supportive. Will visit the place again

Stay at African tent is more worthy than money paid. Peaceful, calm, surrounded by nature, housekeeping is so good especially person Prince is so humble and good.

It's a small property with 4 cabins and 4-5 tents. We booked one tent and one cabin. The facilities inside the cabins/tents are excellent. The property offers great views of the umium lake and surroundings. It has a small swimming pool as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. In room service food was good. Breakfast had limited options but was tasty and filling.

Had a wonderful stay. Staff was extremely polite and helpful. Staying in a tent was a unique experience. Would love to go back again. The property is well looked after.

At roinam i had very good experience. Staff and housekeeper were very good and helpful. Cottages and tents are clean and hygienic. Only thing is to work on room services. They took very much time to send orders

Ideal for people who wants to spend some time amid-st nature. Facing the lake (view mostly obscured by tall trees, but you can peep through, this property has polite and helping staff. The pool side is also beautiful.

Awesome experience starting with staff food everything was nice clean. One must stay there to experience the beauty
