Rokeby Manor is a heritage property located in Landour, away from the hustle-bustle of Mussoorie. The property offers breathtaking views of the valley and is surrounded by serene surroundings. The staff is courteous and attentive, and the food at Emily's restaurant is delicious. The property has a colonial charm and is well-maintained. However, some guests found the rooms to be small and lacking in amenities. The location is perfect for nature lovers and those seeking a peaceful getaway. Overall, Rokeby Manor is a great option for a relaxing holiday.

Rokeby Manor : A Welsh Affair

To get a break from the hustle and bustle of city life and to have a relaxed holiday, we decided to visit Mussoorie, the Queen of hills. After a long search on various sites and Reading reviews about different stay options, we came across by Rokeby Manor, in Landour cantt, Mussoorie. The way from Mussoorie to Landour Cantt is awesome. Narrow lanes, sharp turns (have to be careful while driving though), serenity, greenery and cleanliness all around. And one of these sharp turns led us to Rokeby Manor. As we entered at around 5:00 pm, a classic entry gate welcomes us to the reception area. We completed our formalities and then one of the Rokeby Manor staff accompanied us to our room. As the gates of our room opened, we could see the 19th century decor. This place was originally built in 1840 and its still restored to its original beauty. They welcomed us with complimentary drinks (coffee and tea). After a lookup of the area, we came back to our room. Rooms are basically smaller than what appears in photographs. Later in the evening we had our drinks in their tea garden. The tea garden has an amazing view. In the evening, the whole of Mussoorie and Dehradun can be seen. We had dinner at their restaurant "Emily" which serves fingerling food. The decor inside the restaurant is very nice. Hospitality is at its best along with the complimentary breakfast. Though the charges for the stay were not so light on the pocket but still I would recommend a stay at Rokeby Manor as it blends all the ingredients perfectly for a peaceful and relaxed holiday. Pure bliss!!
Romance amidst nature

The most romantic getaway for a couple! My boyfriend and I had the most amazing stay in the cosy little rustic room which looked out into the Tea Garden. Landour in itself is a cute town and Rokeby is walking distance from the main attractions like the Bakehouse, Straydog, Chaar Dukaan, Cafe Ivy, Cemetery, All Tibba etc. Once we entered the Manor we were transported to another era - spending mornings looking out onto the beautiful mountains eating an English breakfast at Emily's and spending evenings next to the crackling fireplace curled up with a book enjoying the quietness. If tranquility, fresh air and comfort is your idea of a great holiday Rokeby is a great place for you! If you are looking for unnecessary opulence and luxury and don't appreciate the rustic charm then Rokeby's may not be the right place for you. I will definitely visit again soon hopefully with my boyfriend . PS: The only downside was that they do not serve alcohol and the Stray Dog (i.e. A bar in the vicinity) was shut down for renovation.
Good property but not worth the money

Seems like rokeby manor is only charging for the location, which honestly is one of the best in whole mussoorie. What disappointed us was the amount of money we spent for the services we received. The room was very small and there was a continuous smell of kerosene oil in the bathroom. The staff was polite and curteous. The property rules are kind of strict, specially for rustic room guests. They have a beautiful tea garden but don’t allow the rustic room guests to sit and eat there. However, one good thing, they honored our request and sent their driver to drive our car till mussoorie as the incline was too steep. One word of advice, take your car only if you are comfortable driving on narrow steep roads.
Home away from home

Stayed there the third time around and as usual cozy rooms and fireplaces, warm friendly staff, excellent food and more whether you're travelling Solo or with family. Long walks amidst pines, and lots to See and do around. Feel like I am in a second home.
Rokeby Manor has a lot of history behind it and was lovingly and painstakingly renovated to its present state. Set amidst a beautiful pine forest, the stay was as lovely as ever. Food is excellent and the hospitality. Awesome. Friendly staff ever ready to help out, cozy place. This is the third of my many stays (future). Solo travelers, a call out if you are nature lovers, wanderers. The place is safe and has the best of walks.
It's beautiful from each and every corner

About the location of the place.. It's bit tedious to get above the hill... But once you reach there.. It's heaven! Rooms are totally neat and clean. The service.. Extraordinarily great The people serving you make you feel so comfortable and totally home like. Food quality -excellent! This place is a total package to spend your weekend peacefully away from the humdrums of life. The authenticity.. The culture of the place is totally new and mesmerizing. We did a bonfire at night.. The view from the highlands is breathtaking.. All you see is lights.. Of the Mussoorie hills and the stars up above.. Loved it!

Sunil naval and ashish gol went out of their way to make our stay memorable. Every detail of the outhouse has been designed with utmost care and at par with oberoi hospitality. For example the kitchen is stocked with champagne and wine glasses with wine openers. Eatables kept in the room are not chargeable. The view is outstanding, being at the edge of the cliff and the balcony has lovely cane furniture and the living room has double height with wrap around glass windows. Food is out of the world. Great management and staff.
An ancestral vintage, wonderful stay place

Right from the name, there is a classic touch to the stay place. It's amazing to see how well the 150 years plus property is maintained. The walks to Lalo Tibba and Lantour baker house are indeed scenic. The sight of the Himalayan snowflake range at Lalo Tibba is a must see for any nature lover. The food spread at the in house restaurant is yummilicious and portions are value for money. Away from the hustle bustle of a typical hill station this place is a serene peaceful abode for a short visit.
Could stay there forever

One of my best stays so far. Rokeby has been all about comfort, hospitality, mesmerizing view, and food. I was travelling solo and not for a single second I felt that I'm away from home. Everything in this Rokeby Manor is just too perfect, the staff is amazing and so is the ambience. To add on to the beauty of this Rokeby Manor, Landour received its first snow fall. That definitely made my experience 1000 times better. Thanks for the hospitality and the yummy Pineapple jam that I got back home.

The property is in landour, hence away yet quite near mall road crowd. It is an area managed by army cantt, hence it s exceptionally clean. The Rokeby Manor reminds you of a colonial bunglow, excellent renovation and evening are beautiful in the garden tea cafe
Excellent property

We have visited rokeby manor previously for meals, but it was our first stay. The old world charm and excellent hospitality was everything we hoped for. If only they had a breakfast buffet, things would have been great. Due to low occupancy the breakfast was a-la-carte, which was not ideal.
Excellent Stay

This property has breathtaking views and offers an extremely cozy stay. I enjoyed all my meals including the buffet breakfast spread that offers freshly made food items. It’s truly relaxing and rejuvenating to be surrounded in warm hospitality as offered by Rokeby. I can’t wait to go back again :) I have made mind blowing memories from this trip to Landour.

It is located in one of the most beautiful locations (Lalo tibba) and is renovated from the British era buildings to provide the modern amenities in a Rokeby Manor. Although one has? O be an experienced driver to reach by own vehicle. Overall an excellent short trip.

Booked two rustic rooms. One of the rooms was way too small whereas the other one was Worth the price. I must admit that the property overall is very good.

Landour in itself is such a pure beauty and above that Rokeby doesn't leave any stone unturned in its hospitality, food, vibe and stay. Rooms are clean, views from any outdoor spaces is breathtaking. A must visit if you're visiting landour.
