Flooded with kindness and the best services provided by the Akbar Group Of Heritage Houseboatsiers. Have stayed in many Hotels in different cities & great hospitalities have been provided but only at a cost. But this stay taught us that, still there are people who gives you the same experience only considering the customers comfortability as their motto and Akbar houseboat is one among them. On reaching Nigeen lake gate we were accommodated by Shikara ride (It’s a complimentary ride by Adnan) to the houseboat. We had a warm welcome by Mr. Adnan (Proprietor) and his team at the berthing deck with welcome juices and cookies. Ours was a group of three families. The next few days we spent there, Adnan & team made sure you will have the home like feel, Treated us like a family member. We were served with homely cooked foods as per our wish. Rooms / Toilet were clean and the Sunrise view from this Akbar Group Of Heritage Houseboats at the right place. He had a track on us from the day we boarded from our place and guided us throughout the entire trip. Adnan arranged us a Car with a best price and a good hear ted man who drove us (Mr. Umer Wangnoo) For next five days. Umer was the best in guiding with the places and took us to lot of places. His choices of Hotels for food were too good. Also Adnan organized for a surprise Bday party for one of my friend in this trip. The newly married were Overwhelmed by the cake and candle lit arrangements. Overall the six of us rated this at 10/10.

We stayed a couple nights at the Akbar houseboat which was a nice and different experience. A one star Akbar Group Of Heritage Houseboats that really was way beyond what we expect. Adnan took really good care of us. He made our three days two nights an awesome experience. Took us to all the places we planned to know and more, he showed us the true Kashmir with its flavours, mosques, artesans, sikaras and gardens. He even invited us to his sister's wedding. What a wonderful time we had!!! And well the best shopping ever!! He helped us find all what we want and more at the best prices and in the most incredible places. Gold jewelry from a Sikara, paper machie right where craftsman's live and work, zafran creams, clothing at local no tourist shops which made a huge difference in price. He also took us to eat at the street Kashmiri halba, salt tea and bread made out on the mountains and never forget the tea he serves at his houseboat so yummy and delicious. Kashmiri tea!!! Mmmm he even managed to get us into a shikara at 5 am to look the dawn and sikara market. My husband and two teen children got just in love from Kashmir. We hope to be back soon. Srinagar is home to houseboats, a tradition which started many decades back. They provide a unique experience of staying on the lake. So for our trip to Srinagar, we decided to try out Akbar houseboats. Located in Nigeen lake, you need to take a shikara ride (which is complimentary) from ghat no. 1 to reach their houseboats. We got a whole boat to ourselves which was great. The owner Adnan came to greet us and informed us of the staff who would take care of us. They have a system of meals, rather than dishes. So if we asked for non-veg, they got us kebabs once, once chicken curry cooked in kashmiri style. The staff would never say no to get us any food / drinks like kahwa, tea, etc. At any point of the day. The evening view was surreal and peaceful. A must visit for anyone going to Srinagar and a definite recommendation.

Nigeen is less crowded than Dal and that’s the good thing about it. Akbar houseboat is a very nice property and Adnan is an excellent host. You will indeed feel home away from home. Adnan took very good care of all our needs. The food prepared was very homely and the boy serving was very friendly. He was just a call away, not a phone call . But just a call with loud voice. Adnan helped us with basic things to do and things not to do during the trip. He arranged us a Shikara from Nigeen to Dal and back. He was also our point of contact for the taxi booking for 5 days. All the prices were reasonable. It was a very comfortable and memorable trip for our family. Must stay here !!

The scene from the HB is pristine and beautiful ... It was really a feeling of floating home away from home .. Mr Adnan, the owner received us when we reached, gave the orientation of the houseboat ... He also did delve into the history of How and why the concept of Houseboat emerged in J&K. It was all very interesting to know about it ... It was all lovely and rejuvenating :)

We stayed at this place this June. It was my anniversary as well as my wife's bday. Houseboat is in very good condition. The location is good too. We need to take a shikara to reach the houseboat. Food was average. Service was excellent. The host and his team were very friendly and tried to help us in every all possible way. They helped me arrange a cake for my wife. The place is highly recommended.

Everything was good ... Location was beautiful. Owner was friendly and very nice person. But they should provide hot water in the bathroom for long hours, this was the only drawback. The whole houseboat was warm and cozy.

Situated in calm, clean Nigeen lake, with courteous Akbar Group Of Heritage Houseboats staff & owner Adnan ensures that you have a homely stay. You have to take complimentary Shikara ride from Nigeen club house to reach here. This 80 year old house boat is neat, clean and decorated in heritage style. Ensure that you let them know your food time like at home and they will make delicious Vegetarian dish available to you. Overall a very nice memorable experience.

We had an excellent stay, definitely we will come back again. Staff were very friendly and served us and took care of us throughout our stay. Enjoyed the lake and the mountain view both mornings and evenings. Food was home cooked and delicious.

If you really wanna go by my review I would say it was a beautiful experience staying at this place. Adnan is the best in business, passionate and committed to his customers. Ask anything he would give his best try to satisfy you. Hospitality at it's best.
