Good option in Fort Kochi

The family that runs this homestay is so friendly (and they helped us choose the best option for our trip). The rooms are up the stairs in the garden. There is no AC, but the ceiling fan was more than enough when we visited (September). Everything in Old Kochi is within walking distance, and there's always a line of rickshaws waiting for customers right at the cross street. The area is very quiet and it's easy to sleep there. The only things that could be improved are that the mosquito net in our room wasn't well fixed so some mosquitoes did get inside every night and that the room could definitely be cleaner -but overall it was a good experience. By the way, the family there can arrange for person manually propelled 7 hour boat trip on the backwaters, the shipowner being a local that can show you some very interesting small local workshops and plantations no outsider could visit otherwise. It's not a houseboat, but moving through the backwaters in silence, listening only to the sounds of nature, is a truly rewarding experience. Also, if you visit make sure to greet Bruno, their adopted puppy -the family will immediately put him inside without you asking so you won't have to interact with him once if you don't like dogs, but if you do he is so cute and playful.
No AC but still kinda worth it

I traveled solo to Kochi two weeks ago and I decided to go for a Homestay for the first time. The place is beautiful. It's exactly how they have shown in the pictures. It's all wood and elegant. The only problem is that there is no AC in rooms, even these people themselves don't use it. It was. Bearable but still tough. I don't really hold it that against it because the place is nice. The design is amazing. There common area is beautiful. There's a small library, places to sit and chill in the common area, fridge to keep stuff, oven, even a small kitchen to make your own stuff! There is balcony in some rooms. The rooms also have the same wood furniture. It's all very clean as well. You get to learn a lot about the culture and the way people are there by talking to the owners. They are sweet and people and welcome with hospitality. Even WiFi is available not so greats for streaming but it's fine. All in all, I'd give good ratings because I really liked it there. It was peaceful. The place is very green as well. Kochi is an art and history hub. Beautiful place. Biennale was incredible.

I travel-led with 2 of my friends and it was a great experience. Costa gama is a home stay with 5 rooms, and we found people from multiple nationalities during our 3 day stay at the homestay. It is centrally located with vypin and ernakulam jetty at 12-15 min walking distance. Mattancherry is 20 min walking distance. Lots of bike rental options also are nearby. The property is like mini forest with huge banana trees giving shade to the property from front. Room was clean. Kitchen is provided with all basic amenities. Mr benson who manages property, stays downstairs. He was extremely helpful. One of our neighbour had medical emergency and mr benson ensured that she get all the medical attention even at the middle of night and took her to hospital. The rooms were super economical, great value for money.

We were so lucky to run into this gem in Kochi. Our favorite place for the entire trip in India. Excellent location, less than 10 minutes stroll to the waterfront and the trendy areas. Very cute living area with a kitchen. Rooms are simple, clean with nice touches like wooden furniture, nice curtains and hand woven cotton sheets. Price is very reasonable. What makes this place most wonderful is the hosts, Benson, Shiny and their dad and son. My friend got into an accident the last night we were there and fractured 2 bones and needed surgery. We got so much support and love from them. They treated us like family. Words cannot describe how grateful we were. Will definitely visit Kochi again and stay there. Thank you Benson and Shiny.

Wonderful home stay in Fort Kochi

The location is excellent, being a short walk from the beach, Mattancherry and old fort Cochin area. Also, few minutes walking you can find a busy commercial area with everything you need. The room is very good, with a small balcony under a coconut tree. Everything was spotless clean, and there is a pleasant living room with attached kitchen if you want to cook something or prepare your own breakfast. The family members are perfect hosts. I honestly liked it very much, and recommend it to everyone.

The overall stay was good and the location was easily accessible. The staff service and hospitality were good. Room was so comfortable and the balcony had a beautiful view. There are some mosquitoes but it was a climatic issue. It was my Solo trip and I think this is very safe for Solo woman stay.
