Golden Fern Resort

Hey everyone. I was bit sceptical in booking a resort/stay at a remote hilly area called kanthaloor(marayoor) for couples. I was searching for a lot of stays but, when i came across golden fern by platina through makemytrip, i was certain that it’d be apt for a better staying experience. Now that i have stayed there and returned back, i am completely wholeheartedly satisfied with the way the resort was. Usually, the stays/Golden Fern Resorts/ villas would be drastically different from how they project them online. However, golden fern by platina was 100% genuine in whatever they projected online. The resort was completely clean and tidier. The food at the restaurant was fantastic, staffs were humble and gentle, the ambience was absolutely peaceful. I would definitely recommed this stay for couples as it is a safe and secluded space with wonderful ambience, climate and surrounding. I would rate my resort experience as 5/5. Overall the stay at Golden Fern was good however, there are improvement areas which has been shared with the responsible contact. They would include heater issues (which isn't negligible as the weather is really cold and hot water is a mandate). Out of 4 pillows and 2 fancy cushions only 2 pillow cases seemed to be replaced. Others very much had a musty stink left by other guests and was so prominent. Bathroom was tidy except for the bunch of hair that was not removed by the cleaning staff. Food served was good and had a homely feel to it. The new sales&marketing team are working hard to bring major changes and good luck to the team. I stayed with my brother in their superior mountain view room for one night. The location is very good and near few view points/spots. The staff was very professional and accommodating. The overall environment/vibe was very safe and hygienic. Not a lot of campus to walk around or explore but worthy for the stay. The mountain view room dint actually have a view of the mountains because it was blocked by big trees, however you can walk around to find a spot with the view. Good experience overall 4/5.

Nice ambiance and service, Cons no AC or fan. No telephone extension in room. IT would be great if the room has an AC or fan, because we were sweating when we came back from outside. Of course it was off season, I understand that. But as a customer who pays for the room he must me satisfied. The room did not have telephone facility, each time we have to go outside and find the care taker.

Hotel is located near the main town. Rooms are inside the compound covered with trees so its quite silent and feels close to nature. Wifi works fine, service is also good. Only problem we faced was that there were mosquitos inside room since there was water log nearby, (we stayed in mud house. On informing, the supervisor confirmed that they will look into the issue.

A very good resort at kanthalloor. Service is also good. They will provide homely food if booked in advance. The highlight is the good behaviour and service mentality of the resort officials. Rooms are good. The only negative i felt is that a mirror or dressing area is not available in the room. We have to use the bathroom for the mirror

I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Its superb green and very natural. The green environment is full of birds, cool breeze, and hot and tasty food. Omg its just awesome. Am writing this review sitting in the balcony of Golden Fern. Cant conclude without mentioning about the caretaker. He just awesome. Thank you.

Yea that is what i prefer to say. This property is located at kanthalloor. Decent rooms and atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The management has done a commendable job by preserving the trees and keep the natural atmosphere as it is. I will definitely recommend this property.

The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is very clean and peaceful. I only had a bad experience with food.

This is our second time stay with golden fern, it was awesome like the last time. Good climate, very supportive staffs. Nearby tourists spots are there. You will get jeep safari people just in-front of the resort. Well maintained rooms and property

Really amazing one night stay at Golden Fern. Caretaker set up an amazing bonfire.

Excellent behaviour from the staff. Tasty food and good amenities. Beautiful location. Try to include a mirror in the room. Also as there is no air conditioning in rooms try to get some air circulation.

Food was very good, staff are friendly, location is good, you can walk inside the property as short trekk and see mountain view good for family too

We had an awesome experience. Very well maintained property, ambience was really great. Staying in the mud house is a unique experience. We had lunch/dinner/breakfast from here and it was delicious. The only drawback is the parking space which is congested and can park maximum 3-4 cars

Scenic view. Friendly staff. All cottages offer maximum privacy. Mudhouse was there, thing I missed was a kettle, since climate was too cold. Food provided(both dinner and breakfast were awesome). Krishna Raj(care taker) was super friendly. Parking for 4-5 cars.
