Holiday Home Resort

I found this resort thanks to make my trip and after much browsing through other travel sites as well. We stayed for three nights and it was thoroughly enjoyable, though there was not much by way of "view from the room. However, the peaceful and quiet location, with misty mornings and chilly nights, besides the friendly and efficient service more than made up for any shortcomings. We later learn t that the holiday home has quite a history. Before the resort commenced operations in 1947, the facility was used as barracks for the british troops stationed in kodaikanal. There are a few artifacts and historical photographs on display in the dining room. The room - we opted for the "stream side room" as it suited our budget. Very spacious with an alcove for dressing and a size-able washroom with geezer for hot water. A sit-out / verandah also added to the ambience. No fan or air-conditioning, but we didn't require them due to the fabulous weather (between 23c and 14c. If the management gives a bit more attention to maintenance, your stay can be even more comfortable. There is a connecting door to the adjoining room - very convenient for a group. The food - basic, but very tasty (at least to our palates. Buffet breakfast and dinner came with the tariff. Breakfast was mostly south indian, but egg preparations were available on order. So also the dosa. Dinner - again, a buffet. Simple but a mix of veg and non-veg. Soup, rice and parathas besides a variety of curries and side dishes. Quite tasty. The dining hall is quite big with a choice to sit on the verandah that skirts one side of the hall. There is no bar, so you need to carry your stuff if you wish to enjoy a sip or two at night! the service - quite efficient, friendly and laced with a smile. Not sure if there is room service because we didn't order anything except for a few cans of soft drinks. Amenities - an indoor hall (connected to the dining room) with board games and tt table. A children's play area close to the rooms. Parking - lots of space and free. Net connectivity - wi-fi available in the reception area. But we carried our own data card (as we always do. So, connectivity wasn't an issue. In conclusion, for two adults and three nights with breakfast and dinner thrown in, it was a steal. Not a 5-star facility by any stretch, but very comfortable. Thank you make my trip. Will we stay here again? yes, certainly!

Holiday home resort is a 4 km outside the city. It is located at a walking distance from the liril falls. It has a beautiful stream that is flowing through the resort. We stayed in the stream view room cottage. The rooms are huge. The rooms are clean. The property is an old property so it gives vibes of an heritage property. The bathrooms are of old style. So do not expect a modern Holiday Home Resort amenities. On the food front we had opted for the breakfast and dinner. Both of them lack the variety and taste. So if you are on a holiday then this the place to avoid. Apart from food the place is a delight to stay. They do a borne fire in the night which is very soothing considering the cold nights of kodai. Overall it is a value for money. If you want to spend your vacation in the midst of nature with the soothing sound of flowing water then definitely this is the place to be

Kodaikanal trip 2 days 4 adults and 1 baby. Stay was amazing, silent serene place. There is lot to see and enjoy within the resort. If you want indoor games table tennis, carom board game or chess is available. In outdoor there is a good badminton court and play area for kids and adults and you will get any help from the staffs too. Location is superb, it is within the range of your places to visit. So, if you want to come back to room and rest it is easy. Not only the breakfast, we had dinner too its yummy. Will be a bit expensive but at a resort on a holiday station it is expected. Staff were helping and interactive. We stayed in 2 rooms, one was ok type and the other looked beautiful still it was neat. Housekeeping was done properly and they addressed our queries as early as possible. Overall, it was nice would highly recommend this place. Our family is happy with the stay.

The property is located amid-st the sceren greenery all around away from the hustle of the kodai city. The stream flowing through the resort property makes the stay very pleasant. The staff is polite but room service needs to be improved as service time required for even water delivery at room is more than 30 mins. Breakfast and dinner is complimentary and this is the best part. The Holiday Home Resort breakfast and dinner variety and taste is also very good. The resort property is very beautiful lots of places within the property to explore and take photos. Overall i am planning to visit the property again with my family as it's a perfect holiday destination. Last but not the least please don't forget to carry warm clothes when you visit here as the temperature is cold.

The resort is very beautiful and peaceful. Specifically for people traveling in car as it is next to the main road. It is easily accessible and no need to worry about road. It is located away from main area but still all the sites are just 10 to 20 minutes away and easily accessible. Also, tea shops restaurant also a waterfall is within walking distance. Food was average and moderately priced but nothing great and also nothing to complain either. It's a great place to relax, the stay was good and peaceful. If the food is improved then it would have been great value for money as well. I will definitely choose this place if I visit Kodaikanal again and will recommend it to others.

Visited the place in march 2022. It was a family visit and stayed at the resort for two days. The location of the resort is close to the main town and the road is good too. The place has ample space to walk around and have a quality time. The resort has plenty of options to stay. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is close to rooms. The food at the restaurant is amazing. I'll suggest guests to have chef special non veg delicacies during the night. They are yummy. Even the other food that is served are good and tasty. Overall had a good time. I'll recommend it for all the age groups.

Special mention to manager mr. Prakash, his hospitality, special care and kindness is highly appreciated. The property is well maintained and as per pictures. Really beautiful setup, next to a stream, rooms are clean and spacious. Kids play area (can be improved and need some maintenance but manageable. Staff is well maintained and very polite. One of the best locations, not completely inside the city but close to most of the tourist locations. We really loved the evenings in the property after sight seeing. It was relaxing and beautiful. I will highly recommend.

It was an excellent stay and very good service. Resort had enough space for kids to enjoy. Both indoor and outdoor games were available. But the resort allows only 2 adults per room, which is really a drawback and faced challenges while accommodating kids. Cost is reasonable and it would be good if room accommodate 2 adult and 1 kid at least. Had to pay extra charges for kids, would recommend resort to allow 2+1 per room while booking and even an additional cost is also appreciated. They provide breakfast and dinner too which have more options and tastes good.

The resort has a very good surrounding and ambience. The staff is also very nice. The rooms are average not upto expectation. But the heritage look is good and the ambience outweighs everything else. Had a pleasant stay.

Nice place to stay. Especially the stream side views are too good.

Pols improve room service and room clean

The location is actually very near to most of the spots in kodai. That's the first thing about this resort. Nice ambience and the resort staffs are very friendly as well. The complementary food is also awesome. Much recommend place to stay.

Good stay but bathroom should be upgraded. Room is very cold as there is no room heater.

This is one the best resort for this price. Location of resort is nice. Some 5km away from city and we will get a peaceful enviroment. The water stearm sound passing through the resort is always nice to hear, particularly during nights. Food is good.

The property is amazing, situated in an aloof place. Travellers seeking peace and calmness will love this place.

Good location, with not so good services.
Reception would not pick the call most of the times. Towels provided were dirty. Blankets were smelling bad. But the food and the location were very good.

The resort is very spacious and could accommodate all with a good social distancing. The stream running through the resort is very beautiful. The lawn is perfect with the hammocks and swings. Food has variety, but the taste was not that good

Enjoyed lot with pleasant stay in Holiday Home Resort, breakfast buffet excellent especially strawberry milkshake, service is good.

Ambience was good. Kinda will enjoy the stay at this Holiday Home Resort as they have more play area around every corner. Stream side room was good.
