Hotel Grand Shivalik

Although I booked this hotel but on booked date I cudnt locate it, I tired to call the hotel but no one received the call, then I tired to locate by using google map it showed the hotel is near kara nagar goal so I along with my staff member proceeded towards goal market but on enquiry from people I came to know thr is no hotel of such name. I again tired hotel luckily this time around 7pm the call was picked but I was told thr is some water problem in the hotel so we are arranging another h

Its a hotel situated in a wholesale market. Entrance through a shabby small lane. Very poor rooms and beds. Cheap hotel. Its a kind of bachelor accommodation not advisable to stay with family.Very bad experience.

It is a good hotel for low budget ustomer.

Not very inviting exterior, but once inside, the caring staff make the stay comfortable. Parking is a problem but in its price range it is good value for money.

I never thought that make my trip will provide such cheap and third class package.

The owner of the hotel (Mr. Salim) is very co-operative and well mannered.

There is a flyover work going on in front of the hotel and hence the frontside is pretty muddy - though its not the hotel fault. Staff are genuinely cordial but housekeeping / service is inefficient- I had to wait for my room to get ready (room 206 - 10 minutes - bed was not made at all) - all other empty rooms on same floor as I could check had the same condition. AC took one hour to start cooling the room. Was billed for Rs. 37 extra first next day morning - after protest , it was found to be the bill of Room 306. Despite asking the room service specifically not to put any curry leaves in my food , the same was found amply strewn in my egg chowmein and crispy chicken. However, I needed a hotel for overnight stay only and hence shall repeat my stay here in future too as such conditions are well expected in hotels charging same almost anywhere in India.

Hotel is pretty good overall. Positives: Good value for money. Very good service. Good hospitality and they got us everything we needed, including fruits outside. Enjoyed good food. Though normal curries and dal, well prepared and very tasty. Also, charges for them are very nominal and much lesser than any restaurant. Very near to the market place. Ideal to stay here for shopping, esp. on saturdays, you will find lots of decent clothes and stuff at cheap prices. Helped us in a small medical ailment also. Got a doctor for us almost immediately. Negatives: Entrance of hotel is bad. Inside the hotel, very good. Hotel did not help me much with travel arrangements. They have tie-ups with cabs. The cab wala was more interested in his commissions rather than taking us around. Felt very bad abt it. Advice: Hotel has few western toilet rooms. If you need a western toilet attached room, then inform early so that u get it in grnd or 1st floor.

We decided to spend more money on site visits and less on hotel stay. This was value for money, food was good and cheap. There was so much warmth in their behaviour, they were always ready to help in any way they could, they guided us for all the visits so correctly, it saved us a lot of time and money. We felt at home, and it made our Kashmir visit most memorable.

i travell for many years in india and abroad...i hv never recieved such a god kinded service in my life..the staff was exellent and service was too good...perfect hotel for middel class family...location was shopping paradise in srinagar......rec.for middel class family........

Low cost but good hotel. Nice staffs, even foods are arranged at a very low cost comparing to outside hotels.worth staying. Location is very near to market area. We have enjoyed this trip very good.

Hotel is located at heart of Lal chowk srinagar with good rooms & services.hotel staff is co-operative and helping at any time....worth to what you pay

Thank you MMT for suggesting such a nice hotel. You wonÂ’t get such a hotel at this price. The entrance of the hotel is little bit frustrating otherwise everything is good. Particularly, the front desk boy, he is always in a helping mood and always asks about your wellbeing but not disturbing. Thank you once again for booking such a nice hotel.

Hotel Grand Shivalik may not be a star hotel but, the affection and warmth of hospitality displayed by the Hotel Proprietor and staff may be graded as Five Star quality. They have provided us a vehicle for sightseeing for very reasonable rates. Though this hotel does not have a restaurant, they have guided us getting delicious food with reasonable rates in surrounding areas. To state in precise: “Comfortable accommodation.., Reasonably-rated transportation... And accessibility to delicious food for affordable rates"... is the specialty of Hotel Grand Shivalik. What more than this a tourist require?

Very co-operative staff but size of the rooms is very small.
