Summer Sands Beach Resort

Pros: 1. Awesome location by the beach 2. Clean rooms including bathrooms Cons: 1. Slow, inefficient & almost rude staff - check in took more than 1/2 hour, but check out was hurried even though we were on time & caused no delays 2. Food & drinks is terribly overpriced - dinner buffet was charged at 800 plus [which is ridiculous considering the neighbouring Taj is lesser], Vodka was 240 bucks for 60ml. Worst part is, kids (we had a 2 year old child along) are charged half price for buffet, this is a really cheap way of minting money. 3. Room service is pathetic - Drinks arrive without glasses, glasses provided are not booze glasses. Request for ice and it arrives half melted. Request for milk and it goes to the wrong room! long story of errors! 4. Mosquito menace. There is stagnating water around. 5. Management is too petty - we booked a cottage, as they did not have one available, they converted a suite room with one room locked. Normally Summer Sands Beach Resorts do a free upgrade, the locked extra room was of no use to the Summer Sands Beach Resort anyways!

Nice beach, very good restaurant on beach front, courteous staff. However, everything is charged. I don't mind paying for WiFi, but it was way too expensive and slower than snail. Even for a single print out and scan for an urgent work, they charged me - which I found was cheap! I felt that they try to make money out of you in every possible way. The staff at restaurant though were fantastic. The cab service they help you with is run by a very greedy man. Rs. 2000 for a massage is on the expensive side. Overall, the place is great, staff are nice but they seem keen on making your wallet lighter at every occasion.

This is a good Beach Resort around Mangaluru and one of the good Beach resorts in Karnataka. The Resort is pretty old with lush green surroundings around the rooms. The rooms are quite spacious with all amenities. The pool and clean Beach are the highlights. The dining hall, food and beverages supplied are equally good. Improvements are required around the sports amenities provided. Staff need to be quite outspoken as well. Overall it's a good stay for couple, family and friends.

We went as a couple for the weekend and it was the perfect anniversary destination. It had easy access to the beach. They also provide complimentary breakfast. Complimentary lunch (or dinner) is also provided. Accessible easily. One of the best places to stay in Mangalore. Cab facilities are abundant near by. Staff are good and very helpful. Swimming pool is very well maintained. We enjoyed our time at the pool too.

I am Visiting Summer Sands Resort since 25 years, my Father use to take me to this resort for my vacation. The location is Good but the management is very rigid in certain aspects. Amenities are getting reduced ... Please develop and maintain. It is a sentimental place for me as I have spent most of my vacation time here.

Excellent location with beach, garden area attached with resorts. There is a private beach exclusively for resorts guests and well maintained. Room are quite big & clean. It has excellent swimming pool, kids play area, club house for in door game. Excellent restaurant with veg and non veg food. It is value for Money

It's very good to stay .. Very good service .. It is located in shore .. You can get good view of beach and even swimming pool was good .. I watched sunset while doing swimming .. I had very good experience.

Resort is well located. Ambience is good .. We stayed in classic ac room .. Room interior was good .. But outside no light, difficult to reach room in the night .. Restaurant is OK types .. There is a small pond inside the restaurant has few fishes in it .. But pond is very unhygienic and stinky smell is coming from it .. Overall well located resort with poor maintenance ..

+ves 1. Good location. 2. Quiet and relaxed environment. -ves 1. Though room is very good, doesn't have much facility. For example, the toilet/bathroom is very small and not enough space to change clothes and neither was there any small change room. 2. Breakfast not very good.

Good atmosphere .. Food is good .. Rooms are average ... Beach is not maintained, polluted with all the type of stuff .. Infiltrated by local people and you don feel any difference ... Otherwise it is peaceful ... Can stay for two days.

Location is really good and well maintained. The beach is just a stone throw distance from the resort and is very clean. Coming to good and service I would rate a four. All in all a value for money location. I would love to visit the place again.

It was nice Summer Sands Beach Resort with cool breeze from the beach. Facilities was good. Location was good for stay. Room was excellent and food could have little more spicy and Summer Sands Beach Resort conduct was good. I would surely make a second visit to this Summer Sands Beach Resort if I come to Mangalore.
