Royal Dandoo Palace - Houseboat

We stayed for 1 night in May 2016 and we had a very good stay aboard this Houseboat. It was located in a secluded spot oh the lake and hence away from all the tourists and commercial activities, which was the best part. Rooms were spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean but the commode had a few stains which they didn't bother cleaning despite asking repeatedly. Anyway, that was a minor issue. Breakfast and dinner was like home cooked food and was good, though nothing special. We were a group of youngsters and wanted to lounge on the front deck at night after dinner, but they has to close up by 11 and sleep so they didn't let us, which was a disappointment as this is one of the more expensive houseboats we had booked and we really wanted to enjoy the calm and serene waters of the Dal Lake. This houseboat is definitely one of the better ones and looked quite refurbished so I'd recommend it for a decent houseboat experience.

Easily the highlight of my Kashmir trip! House floating on water what is not to love about that! Our host made us feel comfortable as soon as we arrived. Felt like our own home as we had the whole houseboat to ourselves. The place was super clean, everything required for a perfect stay was within our reach even WiFi! Shikaras with BBQ and a convenient store came to us which had everything you can imagine and more! I would definitely fly all the way back to Srinagar just to stay on the Royal Dandoo for longer! Royal Dandoo is a must 5 stars!

Overall a good experience with the Royal Dandoo Palace - Houseboat. We booked all 3 bedrooms on the houseboat, so we enjoyed the entire houseboat including Living, Dining rooms and the Deck. Service from Mr. Basheer was commendable. We enjoyed the view from the deck every morning and evening. Food was good, but limited choice. Unfortunately, there was a severe voltage problem in the night between 7-10pm. Not much of a problem if you do not watch TV.

Royal Dandoo palace group of houseboats is a very rare and exclusive experience. Luxury and taste is evident everywhere. Large rooms and 24x7 attendants make the stay so comfortable. Every request is seen to and homely food cooked in their own kitchen makes the stay special. The location is one of the best with uninterrupted view of the lake and mountains changing hues every hour. The stay will definitely be repeated each year God permitting.

We had the whole houseboat to ourselves - a group of 8. We enjoyed the hospitality of the staff - good food and a very prominent location. Witnessing the centuries highest snowfall in the month of March was a lifetime opportunity for all of us. Great place - although we had to deal with electricity outage which can be overlooked with the great experience we had.

We stayed at this houseboat for 2 nights and it was very best experience. The houseboat is located in a very best location, food was good and very best in service and hospitality. Overall experience was best enjoyed in Royal Dandoo palace. Looking forward to come again and will stay all night stay at this houseboat.

Overall good experience I visited this place with my family by April 2016 Hotel is good, rooms are clean. Food is also good but Royal Dandoo Palace - Houseboat is far from market. Taxi service proved by Royal Dandoo Palace - Houseboat it was really good. Overall 4 star experience. Ideal for family.

Great place, food, service, but off the grid so safety is a concern, don't have their own shikara so have to leave as per their convenience. It was neat but that was because it was newly built after floods. One could hear other guests moving around and also hear what they are talking.

The staff and the owner takes personal interest to see that your stay is comfortable . The location is just awesome .Had a wonderful time .Will keep going back again n again.

Good accommodation with home food quality. Location also good which is in front of that number 17 on the main road. Care taker was humble and caring. I recommend it to families. The owner also stays closely hence things are under control. I recommend to stay in their suit.

Hospitality and nature of attendant was good.

In my view, the houseboat has a good location. You can see people doing the water ski right from your houseboat. The rooms were clean. The food was good. However, since the weather was hot, only the fan could not cut off the heat. Would sincerely request you to install A/C in rooms.

Mr. Nasir gave a very warm reception. His team was also quite good. I got the best rooms for my family. We were 4 adults and 2 kids.

Floating on the Dal lake a wide spread view from this Royal Dandoo Palace - Houseboat is really different than other hose boats.

One should book the room with food included.
