A 'back of beyond' camp for real adventure

If you are looking for a 'back of beyond' kind of adventure, this is the property to stay in. Merak is possibly the last settlement before the army camps and china border. The tents are surprisingly comfy with amenities that you can get at such a remote location. The staff of hilal, salim and team are a really nice and evervready to serve you. Special mention of rohit the chef extraordinaire. His a loo paratha, poha, egg preparations match the best waling down the fields to the lake with its crystal blue waters is an awesome adventure. Just be prepared to face the cold. Nothing can save you-from that. All in all a nice experience.

We had an amazing experience…the staff was extremely cooperative, friendly, hospitable, and so quick with response…the stay is so hygienic and clean, which is rare at places with tents…the place is just 10-15 minutes away from the lake with an extraordinary view and an amazing walk with nature…the food was simple & delicious…the environment was soothing & tranquil; a perfect atmosphere for such a picturesque place…and a memorable experience to take away with us…honestly, couldn’t have asked for more!

Superb location, amazing scenery. There are around 8-9 tents, we were the only guests during our one night stay. Staff was very humble and courteous, especially naveen. Dinner was prepared only for three of us, still chef immediately prepared dessert (phirni) on my wife’s request. Pangong lake is 15-20 minutes walk from the camp. Only thing that can be improved is electricity & hot water supply as there was shortage of both.
