We had booked serene woods for 3 nights, we really recommend this homestay/resort for your coorg stay some of the pros and cons i want to mention here pros 1. It is situated in coffee plantation which will give you the best natural experience of the coorg 2. Rooms were clean nit and spacious with small refrigerator, tv with netflix and prime in it and wifi service 3 the staff were very polite and helpful specially mention priya the manager who was very polite, talkative and on her toes to help you, also the other staff jadappa, asiala, chinmoi and ashok uncle are very helpful, thank you guys you made our trip memorable 4 the food here was delicious though they have less choices but they can arrange if you want something else than the usual menu, but whatever they had it was delicious both the breakfast and dinner 5. Though the resort is 3 km away from madikeri they provided us whatever we want in the room including medicines and liquor cons 1. It is 3 km away from madikeri and the road was not that good so it may be difficult to drive your own vehicle, but they can arrange the vehicle for you 2 outside food is not allowed in the resort so you have to depend on their menu 3 as it is in the coffee plantation beware of the insects and leeches, though it was not that bothering in the rooms 4. They have only 6 cottages so we have to book early

We visited Serene Woods to spend a Weekend away from scorching heat and humid conditions in Mangalore. Road leading to the place is narrow and not in good condition. Don't think its easy for a mini bus or a temp traveler to reach the parking lot but it shouldn't be an issue for small cars. Cottage were we stayed was facing the Valley and provided good privacy. Balcony was perfect just the way we wanted it. Room was maintained well. Only problem was with the bath towels provided. It had many dark brown stain marks. They should have checked and replaced such towels with new ones. I saw the stain marks only after using it. I didn't feel good about it for a Long time. Staff were courteous and helpful especially Jeevan and Umesh. Food was okay. They just had the regular coastal cuisines on the menu such as dosa, chicken curry, rice etc. Nothing much to remember. Play area for kids was great. It had lots of toys and games for children of all ages. There is no spa, gym or pool in the property. This is a big negative. Overall the stay was good. I would recommend this place only for those who want little privacy and a good view of the Valley from the balcony.

Serene woods is a lovely place for a family vacation. We went with our 3 year old, my parents and my sisters family. We got rooms 1, 2 and 3. There are a total of 6 rooms. The rooms are well maintained and the staff are courteous and greeted us with a smile the moment we parked our vehicles. Parking spots are limited to about 3 vehicles. They have additional parking space at the main entrance of the property, but there is a bit of a climb from there to the rooms. Food options are limited but tastes good. A non veg buffet costs 400 inclusive of tax per person. Veg buffet is 300. Breakfast is on the house. The dining area is separate from the rooms and the floor above the dining area has a lot of activities for kids as well as adults. The view from there is amazing! The approach road to the property can be a bit treacherous but then again it can an adventure too. Depends on how you take it. The property stays true to it's name. It is serene and right in the middle of the woods. Mobile networks are a bit dodgy but they have Wi-Fi to the rescue. It is just 3 kilometers to the heart of Madikeri and all Mobile networks are available. Highly recommended!

The Serene Woods Cottage | Rooms & Restaurant has stunning mountain views, clean & spacious rooms and great food. The staff is very friendly and responsive. Being in middle of the mountain and away from city actually provides a serene atmosphere (due to this, the movement in and out Serene Woods Cottage | Rooms & Restaurant can only be done with a vehicle. Cons - the route from the main road to the Serene Woods Cottage | Rooms & Restaurant porch is very steep, bumpy as its not a proper road, so our cab guy refused to pick or drop us at the Serene Woods Cottage | Rooms & Restaurant porch (his under carriage was getting hit by the bumps in the gravel road. Also, the recreation room does not have much items to keep kids or adults occupied. The pool snooker table costs rs. 300 per hour, so it not worth it. The Serene Woods Cottage | Rooms & Restaurant owner should improve the access road by putting concrete or interlock road. Also, they should add more items in the recreation room.

We stayed here from 25 to 27 aug, for 2 nights. We took this despite (very) few sub-optimal reviews because of our friend's referral. We were in cottage 6 and the view from the balcony was stunning. Even the bathroom had a view without privacy compromise! the room and toilet were clean. The approach road is narrow and can take only one vehicle - no complaints there, its a small stretch and very much need to get this view. The food options were limited, again no complaints, the taste was homely without unnecessary artificial flavors and was cool for our tummies. Its difficult to make a larger spread for limited guests. Everything tasted really well, akki roti was great and the fruit juices were fresh and without lot of sugar. There is a short estate walk which was good. There were not a lot of insects in the balcony, so we could enjoy and relax. Last but not the least, all the staff were polite and welcoming. Thanks for making us feel at home.

The best place i have even been privileged enough to stay at. The location of the property is fantabulous. The name itself speaks about the serenity at the place. In the midst of the jungle it is worth straying at this place. Rooms are very neat and tidy and well maintained with the jungle view of the balcony which is more appealing and the birds chirping. The host mr. Timaya was very polite and welcoming and went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. We were really impressed by his gratitude and respect towards my mothers. The staff was really amazing. The service of host was exceptional, delightful, prompt and eager in helping for anything. The food was very delicious. We went again back just to have our lunch before leaving for bangalore. Overall a best experience at serenewoods. I would recommend this place for my friends and family and will definitely come back again.

On my maiden visit to Madikeri, I was confused where to stay and where not to. Though I always wanted to have a Homestay but again in an estate. There were many options but I zeroed in with Serene woods. Well am happy I made the right choice. Wonderful people Mr Ponappa his manager Satish and Dinesh. I arrived late and as this property is almost 1. 5 Km off road, they accompanied me to the property and made every effort to make my stay comfortable with them. There are only 5 cottages but neat and clean cottages, alongside Nice small trek within coffee plantation and ofcourse local food was served as it was sought by us. They can arrange taxis as well for your local sight seeing. Well in all great ambience, good hygiene, and wonderful people. In all 4. 5 on a scale of 5 for Serene Wooods .. P. S : Few more food items should be added to the menu :)

We were 4 persons ( 2 couples) looking for homestay amid coffee plantation and away from city hustles and found serene woods matching our requirements. Though its entry approach around 500 mtrs stretch disheartened our innova crysta driver but once we reached, resort hut type lavish size room and hospitality of manager arito impressed us alot. Breakfast and evening snacks and meals though not very lavish menu wise, but good enough to satisfy your taste buds and reasonably priced. We stayed there for 3 nights and enjoyed scenic beauty and chirping of different birds from our balcony. They have e zone with indoor games but need to make it more friendly. Overall i shall recommend this home stay if you have your own vehicle and you are in company of friends and family as the place is a bit isolated ( which we liked ) literally in serene woods.

The property and the rooms are very good. The view from the rooms is excellent and well maintained. Wifi was not working during our stay and was only fixed during the day of our checkout. Food options are limited but the taste and service is good.

Overall the property location and in and around surrounding is beautiful. Nature lovers will be close to what they look for. But as it is inside the woods actually you might have to see unwanted guests as insects and commonly worms and leech.

After seeing reviews I have booked two cottages in the resort. I am very happy staying for two days. Rooms are well furnished and the staff of the resort is very friendly and always greets you with a smile and made our stay very comfortable. All together a perfect place to stay.

This is the perfect cottage in medikari Coorg who loves natural beauty. Service staff was very good. The rooms were perfectly furnished. For a honeymoon couple this is the great option. For me this the place for which I was looking for us.

Serene woods as the name suggests was an extremely serene stay. The hospitality was top notch. We had a one year old with us and they made sure the stay was as comfortable as possible. We thoroughly enjoyed the view from our room and the estate walk.

It was excellent as we were with nature

We stayed in serene woods from 04 to 06 jun e 2023. These cottages are nestled in the estate covered with coffee plantations and green trees. The cottages are spacious with big balcony and all the modern facilities, overlooking the valley and present beautiful video angled view of the hills. The management and staff of the cottages are courteous and highly skilled and always ready to meet all requirements of the guests immediately. The food and snacks served in the restaurant were tasty and healthy. Only six cottages made it possible for the staff to pay personal attention to us. The only sound we heard in this totally peaceful place was the chirping of birds. Overall, a great experience.

Hotel location is excellent. It is surrounded by trees & plant. View from room was very nice. In morning it was raining & we can see cloud from balcony. Only little draw back was food. It was good but it can be improved by adding some north Indian breakfast & Dinner.

The location and view was excellent, away from normal traffic and city life. No room blocking the privacy of another. Well planned construction. Food was good and a lot of games to play and enjoy the peace of mind.

Serene woods is at great location and justifies its name completely. Very near to coorg city still it’s a great comfort stay in complete wilderness. Food is great and fresh. Best part of property is its caretaker who provides full attention to all your needs and is very very helpful. A really humble and warm person mr thimmaih makes this property a great stay. Will recommend stay here.

Nice location, property is well maintained, friendly staff and tasty food. No room service except tea, coffee and snacks. This was inconvenient for us. Rest is fine.
