Shangri-La Jungle Village Resort is a perfect getaway for nature lovers. The property is located in the midst of a dense forest, providing a serene and peaceful environment. The staff is courteous and accommodating, making the stay comfortable. The food is good, but a bit expensive. The property offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including kayaking, zip-lining, horse riding, and more. However, some guests have complained about the limited food options and poor maintenance of rooms. The property is also located in a remote area with poor network connectivity.

Amazing place to stay san the some ogling staff
Abhijeet Naik
The place is a great get away from the stupid city life. No cell phone connectivity. Only bsnl works. Landline for calling available at the reception counter. Wi-fi only at the reception. Whatsapp voice and video calling possible. Really cool weather. Well maintained rooms the bathroom mirror. Prompt service on call at the reception extension number. The breakfast buffet is awesome quality wise. Just too good. I mean it's just so good that people would help themselves at least thrice. Most of the staff are courteous and helpful. staff from the restaurant, our trekking guide, the room boys are really helpful. Taiyyab, down at the horse ride and zip line is an ever smiling face. All the rides are inclusive of what you pay for the room paddling boat, kayak king slow stream, zip line, burma bridge, horse ride, elephant ride, cycles, the trek 7.30 am, swimming pool. The manager is one who handles this place really well. He's up to his job. He's ever helpful and polite. For the trek, ask the kid, narayan to take you to the dam. Awesome place. Just be careful of the leeches though. You have to cross a small stream, so pick your foot wear. You might want to carry slippers separately. There is a certain place where one can just jump over and get to the other side without having to remove one's shoes. When you enter from Goa into bhimgad, there is a sign board to the left that reads 2. 8 km to shangri la but actually it is 3. 6 km. I checked while entering and exiting on the car odometer. Same reading. So the board needs to have a different reading. The mirrors in the bathrooms don't have hooks behind. The nails have just been stuck on the rear through the wood. The woods gotten soggy due to the moisture in the bathroom. Hence, the day we entered the room, the mirror in the bathroom just fell of the wall, but luckily got saved from breaking due to the tap on the basin. The tap held the mirror from falling. So we were fortunate enough to not get injured. Suggestion please hook'em up properly. Change the wood. The food is too expensive less quantity and quality is just so so. It's nowhere close to the quality the breakfast has. Example I never paid this much amount for a veg fried rice at a small restaurant like this. I paid huge amount for a Nimbu soda. It is one of the worst Nimbu soda I ever had. Felt like water mixed with soda or soda without fizz. Suggestion change the rates, increase quantity and better the quality. The ordered food takes forever to come. Wait time is anything around an hour. One day, the waiter forgot to pass the order for a dish. Sometimes, there is no one to receive calls at the restaurant extension number. Suggestions to travellers even if you pre-order, they forget, so make sure to order at least an hour in advance, whether you are banking on room service or want to go to the restaurant, and then do remind the waiter what you have ordered. The bucket and the mug needs to be cleaned when the rooms is being handed over to other guests. There need to be hooks on the walls to hang clothes and towels. Hangars inside the closet can't be used for hanging clothes anywhere outside the closet. There is no place to dry towels. So maybe a small stand to dry towels be provided in all rooms. Some of the staffers have a habit of ogling staring at women. I had to look back at one of them at least thrice when I was in the swimming pool with my wife and kid before he reluctantly decided to move away. Seemed like a desperate person. I promptly told the manager about the same. There was another stiffer who was also ogling when we had gone to have a look at the elephant and the horses some middle aged fellas. As a family we obviously come to unwind and be stress free, so if staffers are gone crap where they eat it's definitely a serious matter. Businesses run because of customers, not bad habits of staffers. Salaries are also possible only because of customer footfalls. Suggestion train the staff to keep their eyes and manners in place. One stiffer stopped addressing me as sir and was addressing me in a very casual manner as he was from Goa as well. Of course, he was helpful in providing prompt service whenever called for, but today, while leaving he wasn't so much so. I didn't mandate him to address me as sir. I however gave him a tip as he was helpful and I don't hold a grudge against him. Suggestion training is required to be given to the staff to know how to address customers. Some drunk guy rate tourists created quite a ran our in the morning between 1.45 am to 2.30 am. They were going around the property arguing within themselves and shouting at the top of their stupid voices. I being the occasional insomniac was awake. Suggestions - There must be some kind of security personnel on night duty who can control such lousy people. The rooms need to be made sound proof and be fitted with door bells. The reception counter closes down at 10 pm and opens next day at 8 am. Since there can be an emergency at any given time, this is not a very good way to manage things. This is the first place wherein the reception is not available 24*7. Suggestion make it 24*7. Overall experience, room and cleanliness good, staff courtesy OK, food breakfast full marks, lunch and dinner no so good, I loved the place a lot and still have a hangover of this paradise. Ill definitely go back for more and with more people. I hope till then the owner and management of sangria can straighten out the bars.
Mirror in bathroom came off the hook and fell down the on the basin but didn't break.
Jungle stay
Manas Mohanty
Resort is located in the middle of the jungle completely cut off from city hustle bustle. There is no network and wi-fi which helped in digital detox. It was completely relaxing rejuvenating experience with family. There are multiple activities in the Shangri La Jungle Village like river crossing, rip lining, children play area and game room with both indoor and out door equipment. Rooms nice and clean. Resort is beautiful. Karaoke in the evening. Best was born fire after dinner. They also coordinated in arranging jungle safari in castle rock forest. Jungle safari is must do activity if you are staying for 2 nights. Area to improve will be services of the Shangri La Jungle Village. We stayed two nights and both nights dinner buff was served late by an hour. Even refilling of food items was extremely slow. One had to wait 15mins for next refill. We had taken all meal packages which helped. We could see guest who ordered al la carte were served very late. Front desk staff missing in the evening. Food is tasty and homely but number of option in buff is less specially on the night when they served chinese recipe with only two 3 options noodles and 1 veg gravy and 1 non veg gravy. Swimming pool need to be cleaned. It looked water was not changed for days. Overall it was a good experience ignoring the slow services as we in no hurry.
A resort in the Jungle

If you're looking for a relaxing time in a resort, Shangri-La is a good option. The staff was very courteous and genuinely helpful, the ambiance is lovely. They've got some activities and a decent-sized pool. It's for anyone looking for a resort experience in a Jungle. However, don't expect to have an authentic Jungle experience here. This is not one of those resorts for nature lovers. Once you step into the place, with its landscaped gardens, pathways and lawns, it's like you are somewhere else other than the bhimghad wildlife sanctuary where the resort is located. If real nature is what you're looking for there are other options. If you're looking to unwind in a resort in the Jungle with a good staff to help you, Shangri-La may be it.

In the lap of nature, literally and with no exaggeration. Lovely balance between the natural and man-made. Excellent property but no excellent management. Unstable and poor Wi-Fi, no mobile phone signal, no communication facility even within resort, fine dining area, good children play area, geese, hens, horses, Chancha, the lovable elephant, karaoke hall, games room, bar, swimming pool, good food, etc. No rush, hustle bustle of guests during our 4 night stay I enjoyed the peace and tranquility and my 60+ wife's unending jumping with joy. Please visit and stay at the place. It's an experience. Go with no great prior expectations.
Likeable cozy room for a couple.
Great location earn extra oxygen on your holidays
Parimal Modi
Great location inside the forest area. Of you are going to resort from Hubali, Dandeli or South Goa, try to reach before 6 pm, forest entry gate closed at 6 pm and it is difficult to get entry. If you are reaching late inform resort reception well in advance and only after confirmation received on phone from resort reception, you will be allowed to enter the forest. Please keep in mind there is sever mobile connectivity issue here. Only BSNL phone works here and Jio to some extent.
The rooms require some renovation.
Lovely place in the woods
Debashis Bhanja
It is a beautiful place in the middle of a reserve forest with well laid out rooms, all basic amenities, very nice environment and very helpful staff. We spend only one night and wish we had stayed longer. Only area that needs to be addressed is connectivity in terms of communication with neither wifi nor phones working as you will be cut off especially if you plan to stay for a longer period. Just another note of caution in case you are driving down, note that the nearest fuel station is about 40 km away.
A getaway in the forest

This is a nice place tucked away in the Anmod Ghat area. Lot of fun activities included in the package, like flying fox, zip lining, kayaking, a humble horse ride, etc. Meals too included, but average in taste. Can get a l'il monotonous if you stay long. No eateries nearby. You have to depend on the Shangri La Jungle Village. Cool place for a family outing ... Only, I wish the elephant there had a more free space to move about & wasn't chained all the time. Felt bad for her, so refused the ride.
The location is in middle of a Jungle it's a bit scary to get there but once you reach it's beautiful

It's a nice place to get away for the weekend. Only downside I can think of is that the food is very expensive. For a couple for 2 days is costly. The place is well maintained, has a few activities.
