Shantiniketan Villa | Rooms & Caretaker

The location is great if you want a peaceful stay and also want to do a lot of shopping as the home stay is adjacent to Nippon Bhawan (Japanese Department) in Bolpur. I did a last minute booking (30 min prior) at this place and the place was ready by the time I reached. Not very satisfied with the size of the room, but the property is spacious and peaceful. No noise. Food is okay at best. It is better to avoid ordering anything that is not typically Bengali. On the check in day had ordered a Bengali thali and the food was nice. Next morning I ordered bread and omelettes - not good. Considering that bolpur being a tourist destination the pricing is decent. Though being a home stay better facilities are expected - large rooms are a must - which is missing here. Apart from that I enjoyed the stay.

A really affordable and peaceful place to stay for anyone who's looking for couple or more days of getaway at Shantiniketan. The ambience was calm, serene and perfectly relaxing to say the least. The decor of the interiors were commendable. The caretaker woman does a fine job in keeping the whole place together. She also cooks for the guests and her home cooked meals were pretty delicious. I would definitely recommend guests, staying there, to try out her meals. That's all. We were pretty contented by our stay at this place. Might book this home stay again, if we decide to visit Shantiniketan later sometime. I guess that sums up the review for this home stay. Cheers.

In the middle Purbapally, a quiet, serene residential block near the ashram campus in Shantiniketan, lies this small, but beautiful home stay. They offer three rooms, clean, with proper amenities, but the biggest plus point of this property is the tastefully decorated common living space, the sprawling compound with huge trees and the concrete seating arrangement beneath the foliage. One wishes to spend hours sitting there in a winter afternoon, engrossed in a novel. The caretaker krishna is a friendly guy, and a good cook too. He charges you reasonably for the food, and it is worth the buck. It was a short but very pleasant stay, would love to go back.

This is a home stay in the premises of Shantiniketan being maintained by a caretaker family. Owners live elsewhere. Overall experience is indeed very good! You get homely food (breakfast do meals) cooked by the caretaker at very reasonable prices! This family is very kind. Rooms are well maintained. Washroom was clean and maintained. Hot water facility is available. The location of this home stay is indeed wonderful. One can have a memorable stay here with family!

The Shantiniketan Villa | Rooms & Caretaker is located in a good peaceful locality but took some time to get there as it is in the interiors. The outer view is not as beautiful as it is inside. The rooms are very good. The place is clean. The adjoining garden and the balcony is soothing. A place great to stay in. :)

Our stay was absolutely beautiful. The staff at the homestay were welcoming, caring and kind. The house itself was clean and beautiful, with all the facilities one needs. We enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals and had so much fun. I look forward to staying in Shantiniketan Villa again.

Food was good. Timely preparation by the caretaker. The lady is a good human being.

When we entered we thought we were in Kerala. It was an awesome stay for us as we were the only guest on that night. We cooked for ourselves. The rooms were clean. The bathroom is not very clean but we were happy cause we were busy enjoying the privacy.

Very good conditionally every thing here. We are heavily enjoy here. I suggest to all please visit and stay hare

It was a comfortable stay, Though, on the very 1st day we had some problems, thanks to the caretaker she was very helpful and all the problems were gone. Actually, I liked the stay on the 2nd day.
