The rooms are clean and spacious. It is not as bad as people said on the app. The manager of the Sharmila Guest House (near JIPMER) seemed very friendly- provided us water bottles to the room, gave us soaps for free etc. The guest house is a little far from the main city, but if that’s not an issue for you, and you are looking for a stay in budget which is also clean and hygienic, close your eyes and book this stay.
