Shepherds Cottage | A Luxury Stay

We stayed here on july 10th, and the property is owned by susan, and she was kind enough to answer all my queries regarding our trip in general. She is one of the kindest people you'll ever see. She's just one call away if you have any issues. And coming to the property. It's a gorgeous place located between srinagar and main sonmarg, away from all the hustle and bustle, and it's very well maintained. The food preparation takes a lot of time, but it's worth the wait. You get freshly cooked homestyle food. Just try to inform them a couple of hours prior. You have a nice sitting area both inside and outside the cottage, and you can take a nice walk in the evenings. The sindhi river flows just 200m away from the cottage. Overall it's worth the money you're paying.

Without a doubt this place is amazing and authentic. This place will give you cozy feeling as complete interior is made of wood. Staff was helpful, well-mannered and polite. They will serve you homely tasty food. Susan as a host is helpful and friendly. This place is little outside of srinagar but will give you peaceful and luxury experience. Authentic kashmere vibes. They have maintained the place perfectly. During winters it will feel no less than a fairy land. They have everything to make your stay value for money. Perfect for a peaceful stay.

We have been so lucky to stay in this homestay. We had taken the mountain view room. The scenery that is visible from the room feels that we are in heaven. Rooms are spacious, well furnished and clean. Food and behaviour of the staff are worth mentioning. Though the property is in kangan, 45 kms from sonamarg, yet the value for money justifies the distance. The sindhi river beside the property plays music whole day. The owner susan takes good care of guests.

i had a great time with this property as since I entered to this cottage the staff was soo humble and polite. i wish I could have stayed for some more time. The location, the food,all the facilities they had provided was up to the mark. it was so mesmerizing to be able to wake up to this place where you may find peace.

Everything was simply awesome. The location is perfect for people who want to just relax and stay away from the hustle bustle of the city. The staff was ever so courteous and always available. Special note for the food which was top-notch. Highly recommended for couples and family alike.

I loved this cottage personally, it is 35kms away from srinagar and 50kms away from sonamarg. It is situyon prang, kangan area and not sonamarg. The cottage was well maintained with picturesque garden and small pond with ducks. The host helped us with the food and everything.

The property is spacious with a splendid garden, majestic view of the hills and is very close to the river. I would definitely recommend this to people who are looking for a relaxing stay amid-st nature. The staff is extremely polite. The owner is super helpful.

It is on the way to sonamarg and hardly 45 minutes from srinagar. It is best place to stay with nature. I will recommend to stay in shepard cottage during kashmir trip instead of staying in a Shepherds Cottage | A Luxury Stay in srinagar.

Loved the stay at shepherds cottage, beautiful area, homely food and susan is very helpful and welcoming host. Took care of all things. The care takers and cooks also are very welcoming and friendly. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a blissful stay.

The location was remote away around 40 km from sonmarg. But the place was cool and calm having fresh air and the serene environment beside the sind river just flowing besides it.

The property is not in sonmarg infact of is 50 kms towards srinagar. It takes 1 hour to reach sonmarg. The rooms are too small. Food is avg.

Far away from sonmarg. Very poor location. Property is good.
