Sikandra Palace Group Of Houseboats

I stayed at Sikandara for a day with family in end Jun 2019. It has 5 rooms & I had booked 3 deluxe rooms with breakfast. The houseboat is accessible through Ghat No 17 with a 10 mins Shikara ride arranged by the houseboat. The Houseboat is recently renovated with emphasis on quality & personal touch by the owner. The entire houseboat is a pleasure to see with well crafted woodwork & nicely done up rooms. The hygiene standards are praiseworthy with a professional staff to take care of your needs. The food preparation especially non-veg is delicious. The front seating of the houseboat provides a breathtaking view of the Dal lake with Shikaras all around & mountain tops in the far distance. The owner & staff makes you feel at home with their hospitality. The welcome Khawa is worth a try. The Shikaras selling handicrafts stuff & souvenirs quote on higher side & are best avoided. Carry your own liquor if you wish to have at houseboat otherwise its available on shikara shops but at thrice the price. Overall an amazing experience & worth the price.

I have visited srinagar with my wife and daughter on june'2021 and have stayed at sikandra houseboat. Houseboat location is very good and one can get an excellent view of the dal lake from the veranda. Houseboat is decorated beautifully and maintaining cleanliness satisfactorily. Food is also homely. Staff are very polite and helpful. I am very thankful to mr. Zahid, son of the houseboat owner for his hospitality and his friendly and helping-hand nature. Thanks to mr. Iqbal, manager of the houseboat for showing us the dal lake from different angle. Heartiest thanks to the houseboat ( sorry that i forgot to asked his name) owner for his excellent hospitality and sharing his time with us and for his welcoming and gentlemen behavior. I have spent three nights in this houseboat and enjoyed a lot. A completely homely feeling during this period. I strongly recommend this houseboat for staying. Surely i will visit srinagar again and will stay at this houseboat.

Hi regarding the feedback of sikandra house boat. The rooms was above expectations and staff is also very hospitable. Nasir took care of each and everything. Even we need snacks (tikka) with drinks which he arranged by calling the shikara guy with snacks and get the things arranged for us. Dinner was tasty and we told them to arrange chicken curry in dinner which nasir did. Breakfast was not upto the mark. The poha and upma was made in mustard oil which was not good. Taste of mustard oil was coming from the upma and poha thats why deducted one star. Breakfast could have been better. Rest everything was above expectations. Rooms, cleanliness, hospitality and dinner. It is the best boat among-st all in budget per night. Above this there is sukoon boat which comes in budget per night.

The Sikandra Palace Group owns a few Houseboats in great locations around the famous Nehru Park in Dal lake. The owner is passionate about the hospitality industry, he personally escorted us to our houseboat the "Persian Palace Deluxe". We were travelling with family and small kids and the owner was so considerate that he gave us the entire houseboat with two rooms, attached washroom, dining room, living room and there was a small garden outside as well. The entire houseboat was very nicely and traditionally decorated. Well maintained by a very dedicated caretaker Javed bhai. The food was excellent. There was also complimentary WiFi. Will definitely recommend everyone especially people travelling with family to book their stay in this wonderful houseboat.

This houseboat is absolutely magnificent. I stayed here as a solo female traveler. The family lives in a home behind the houseboat and they were available to take care of me the entire time. The family shared delicious local Kashmiri meals with me. The rooms are very comfortable, the bathrooms and showers are large. The houseboat's terrace view is gorgeous, a direct view of the mountains for sunrise and sunset. Absolutely romantic. The family arranged a shikara (boat) ride for me around the lake, which was great. This is the best location for a houseboat. I will come back with my dad and sisters for a family trip again.

Iqbal khan bhai took very good care of us and made veg food for us. He is well-behaved, polite and he shared stories of kashmir with us. He also arranged shikara for us. Our room was upgraded to honeymoon suite without any extra cost. The houseboat is located far from busy ghats and is perfect if you are looking for peaceful environment. I stayed at balcony till quite late just observing the lake. The interior is quite beautiful food taste and variety can be improved ac was switched off in night may be bcz of no power backup

Houseboat stay and location is good staff people are nice, we don’t had food because they charged per plate and we are 11 person including 5 kids not suitable for us. During our stay in houseboat one thing is very irresponsible when we reached at Dullake I called boat staff to pick us from shore but they refuse and say take boat and come at your own expense. In my view it’s house boat people responsibility to pick and drop us. At the end let’s forget it, we are satisfied that our kids enjoyed the stay at houseboat.

Beautiful house boat, with nice view. Room are spacious and clean. You will get hot and cold water in bathroom. But do carry chips or starter if you want to drink in your room as they don't serve that. They serve normal ghar type dinner and breakfast. For first time visit for booking shikara try connecting with house boat owner as he will arrange the same at reasonable rate. People are nice along with taxi for local site seeing and Gulmarg and Pahalgam. Nice place.

Simply it's a luxury boat house. Total value for money.

My family liked this Houseboat, very pleasant stay. The boat is well maintained, we felt like in home enjoyed to the fullest. Well located at Dal Lake, rooms are beautiful.

The awesome experience. I visited with family with my two kids. It's amazing. Worth money and the location is the best one in Dal Lake and the Shikara ride was awesome from Ghat no 17. We enjoyed the sightseeing which is very near to this place such as Chashme Shahi, Nishat garden and Shalimar bagh.

We stayed here for two days and enjoyed shikara ride, views of dal lake day and at night.

We booked a honeymoon suite room and it was beautifully designed. Staff is cordial and all amenities were there as mentioned during booking.
