Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong

Given a 3 star rating, the usual resource constraints in a hill station to build and operate a Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong, and typical corporate cost cutting efforts from management on maintenance or upgrades - i must say this Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong was a very pleasant surprise for us. We had the opportunity to experience the best hospitality from the most friendly staff there. Everyone from house keeping, dining hall, and reception desk were just amazing. The gardeners, and everyone working tirelessly to make the landscape just perfect with countless varieties of flowers and plants. We had the chef customize an off the menu meal for us that is only possible to make at home and never felt we left home when it came to that while we were here. We found out a few steps (a village road of hardly 100 steps up) from the Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong one can watch sunrise on golden peaks of kanchenjhangha. While watching the birds from our balcony, we counted at least 10 different wild birds so colorful and different calls. There was nothing but pleasant surprises to everything this place has to offer.

Property: the location is very beautiful but many places like the outsides /walls need renovation and colouring. Rooms : rooms are good and big. We booked one premier room and one room with attic as we were 7 people. We got upgraded to both the rooms with attic. On cleanliness i rate it 4/5. On room service and housekeeping again 4/5 as they were quick to respond. Food : the first day we enjoyed our dinner. But the second day was little disappointing. Limited choice of dessert or i can say only few. Also the basic icecreams we ordered were over. No continental chef. So no pizza pastas for kids. We asked for momos 24 hrs earlier ( as they have to be ordered 24hrs prior) but it got over. To make up for this they did not charge us for our desserts. However few staff like bimit, soni( restaurant) were always helpful. So to sum up. It's a good place to stay but ya a a improvement on their side can actually make your stay a memorable one.

We stayed there for one night an availed all facilities there. We were four colleagues who wanted a desparate break from the daily work life and competition. The resort offered us the exact solution to what we wanted. We booked an attic room to accommodate four and the well spacious room with its adjacent verandah provided a perfect touch. Besides the play area offered carrom, table tenis, badminton and billiard. We enjoyed all post evening after our site seeing. The place also has a beautiful and big play area for kids, a must requirement for family outings. Restaurant menu was good and the open air roof top place is an ideal place to have breakfast amid-st cool and clean air and mountains all around. Staff were very friendly and always want to participate in our chit chats. That made the situation more homely. We actually bid them all goodbye like our relatives when we left.

Hi, the resort is simply a gem in the tourism landscape of Kalimpong. If you honestly ask me to compare it with Summit Varsana, I will tell you to opt for this Hotel as it is arranged its facilities in a mesmerizing way. The management used the irregular (up and down) landscape of the resort in such a way that you will enjoy trolling around the property. The garden, swimming pool, badminton court, children's play area, indoor game room all arranged in a way that you will explore them one by one ascending or descending through the slopes of the landscape. The surrounding alpine forest offer a picturesque view from the balcony of the restaurant. Foods are amazing. Chinese food and the South Indian foods are very very tasty. You can enjoy a billiard game with a glass of wine in the evening.

We stayed at the property for a couple of days and had a great time here. The property is slightly outside the crowded kalimpong city and in the middle of a lot of greenery. Every room has a nice balcony with a valley view. It is a large property and has all the necessary amenities like a lounge, game room, swimming pool, well equipped gym, children's play area. The breakfast spread had good variety and the food was very tasty. I would like to specially mention somnath and his f&b team - subrata, tarak, raju, and sabina as they were ever attentive to all our needs. The check-in was made seamless by sourav. Highly recommend this property to anyone going to kalimpong on a family trip.

Its apparently the best place to stay in Kalimpong. I think its strategically built a little far away from the market area to keep the nuisances away. Our cottage was attached to the main building so had great access to terrace and the restaurant. The Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong staff were very courteous and room service was so quick like things would get delivered in a snap of fingers. Only thing that I wanted them to improve is their food menu breadth. They only have a handful of Indian and Chinese items, and even those were only available during lunch and dinner, very limited choice for evening snacks. All in all it was great stay, probably best in Kalimpong.

I stayed here for 3 days at the end of September. The view from the higher floor rooms is spectacular. We had the family room with the mezzanine floor and the view from the room was outstanding. The food was great, the staff was polite and well mannered, and the Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong overall is very peaceful. The only con that I can think of is the distance from the main Kalimpong town. You have to have your own mode of transport or then get a taxi from the travel desk at the Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong. As always, taxis at hill stations are expensive so be prepared for that. Besides this, it's a great place to relax and unwind. Beautiful property.

Location, rooms, food everything

Had a good relaxed and enjoyable stay at Sinclair. The staff was courteous and child friendly. The food was good and tasty. The fnb managers were always standing beside the customer for their order and query's. Hotel cleanliness was good.

The view is amazing. Enjoyed the stay.

The Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong is located a few miles ahead of the Kalimpong town while going from Teesta bridge in a peaceful and secluded area. The rooms were well appointed and clean with all the modern amenities. The Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong campus is on a hilly slope with well maintained gardens and very good views from all the rooms. The food was fabulous with a well spread breakfast. Coupled with all this the courteous staff were eager to help making our stay all the more memorable. Hope to visit the place again sometime in future.

The location of Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong is very nice and peaceful room are big and clean and I like the ambiance of Sinclairs Retreat Kalimpong very much.

Nice bungalow two stories room. With bonfire & heater made every thing cosy. Nice tasty food. Service also was good enough
