Sterling Kodai Lake

Let’s start with the good points: First of all the property is quite good – spread over a large area. It has nice greenery and beautiful flowers. There is enough space for children to play – outside as well as in the indoor play area. The staff is also nice. They are quite responsive – While staying at the property I got a call from them asking if there was any problem which needed to be solved. And they immediately sent someone to rectify the same. Now coming to the things which can be improved The room we were staying in (Privilege suite) was spread over 2 floors – ground and first. The problem was that both the rooms were pretty small. If you add up the area it looks big, but ultimately it is 2 small rooms on 2 separate floors – which was not what we wanted. You have to keep going up and down the steep stairs. The bathroom also should be improved. The shower was not very good. Difficult to bathe in. and the shower curtain was pretty flimsy - didn’t serve any purpose. The water would keep coming out. The restaurant is not adequate to accommodate the large number of guests they get. So every day for breakfast and dinner there was commotion. People had to wait for tables to get empty. Plates, cutlery and bowls would keep getting over. They definitely need larger space and more plates, bowls and cutlery. Since the property is big and spread over an inclined slope, a lot of people (specially senior citizens) need buggies. The property has only 2 buggies and a lot of times one is on charging. So practically there is only 1 buggy – which again causes people to just keep waiting. So all in all – the property is good. But they have to work on a few areas to make the guest experience much better.

We stayed in a recently renovated room (privileged suite. It was beautiful with lots of natural light from front and back of room, landscaped greenery all around, drizzling outside, and a view of the lake. It is a typical sterling property. Courteous staff, indoor recreation area, located in a quiet and secluded corner. Food was ok. Have had much better from other sterling properties itself - like yercaud ( although the room interiors at yercaud are not that good. As mentioned the place is in a remote corner of the lake. There are no shops selling daily essentials nearby. To get a paracetamol, i thought of walking instead of taking my car (to avoid parking hassles in the busy hill roads - one way traffic at many places. It was 5 kms round-trip to the nearest pharmacy. (parking is right outside the property walls, seemed safe with Sterling Kodai Lake security always around)

The place of stay was really good. The lake is visible only from the lounge area. It's a bit far from the main road(about 1. 5km. Premiere rooms are not very spacious but sufficient for 2 or 3 people. There is no fan or ac in the room, but it was manageable because of the weather there(would be difficult during summer. A room heater was provided though. The washroom was clean but had no ventilation. They arranged for a bonfire on both days which was good. The breakfast buffet options are ok, could be improved. Ordered separately for dinner which was a bit expensive. The marketing guy is a bit too talkative, he was trying to make us buy a membership. Had a better experience in sterling kodai valley last time, so i would prefer that again.

It was an excellent stay at sterling kodai lake resort. We had a welcoming call from tyasha and the from security to assistance from amit and his colleague was just superb. Beautiful room, location, cleanliness, hygiene along with sumptuous food. Special mention about chef vishal and chef asian who cooked special dishes on personal request. All chefs are so polite and courteous, they personally gave attention to each of the guests. The best part is that we have chef from most of the states, so we have chef nitesh who cooks north indian, chef baikunth and chef sahil are expert in other form of dishes and the main chef thiru is super awesome. A must visit place, to have a gala time. Best - abhishek

The stay at sterling kodai lakeview was really pleasant. The resort is very well maintained and we got excellent service. The buffet breakfast and dinner had a lot of different options to suit everyone's palate. The room we got was exceptionally cleaned and well equipped by mr. Vela who looked into our specific requests and needs. We also availed the electric buggy service whenever requested since the resort campus is huge. I would say the resort is very kid and elderly friendly hence. We got baby food on request too.

This place is very close to the kodai lake which is visible from almost every rooms. However to reach there it’s still 1. 5 km walk so plan accordingly. During peak days the lake is crowded to the brink and car parking is a hassle. Instead use the cycles from the property which is again chargeable hourly basis. Food was good. People were struggling to find plates and glasses as there was a good amount of crowd. Service is a bit slow. These are little nitpicks which stopped me from giving 5* rating. Hope this helps.

We had a really nice time at sterling kodai lakeview with a spacious, cosy room. The resort has many amenities for entertainment and is a good place to visit with family. The atmosphere of the resort is very peaceful and shrouded by nature. There are a plethora of local flora that enchants us as we walk to our rooms in trails. The food offered by the onsite "lakeview" restaurant was delectable and the spread was well chosen. Overall we had a great time during our stay at sterling.

We stayed here for three days two nights. The place is great overall with great ambiance and service. The rooms can be upgraded to be a little more modern now as new upcoming Sterling Kodai Lakes are providing better rooms at lesser price. Pros: ambience, service cons: although situated at lake, it is on the opposite end and every shop, places to visit is on the opposite side of lake which increases the traveling time and distance.

The location is very good near kodai lake, the staff is courteous, especially housekeeping and the adi at the bar, satya the manager is accommodated and understands the need, overall good experience

Nice place for family gatherings and leisure time with friends. Food is good. Kids play games are great too but need to extend their time.

Nice location. Food was very nice. Hotel maintenance was another level. Nice room especially with garden. Had a nice stay.

The property is located near the Kodaikanal Lake but secluded from market and noise. Property is very beautiful and well maintained. Staff is very cordial. We had complementary breakfast included in our plan. The breakfast spread is awesome 😎.

Happy with it. Stay arrangements and everything was great. Very low water 💦 pressure for bathing, which is surely a small and solvable lacuna. Also they have individual water boilers so u need to wait 25mins for water to boil and in one stroke, one to one and half person can bath in shower. They must work on continuous hot water supply.

We had a wonderful stay at sterling kodai lake. The staff were courteous and the amenities provided were wonderful. We had a blast with a fun karaoke session as well. The ala carte food at the in house restaurant is a must try!

Good location for stay near the lake and also far from a busy city with absolute silence and greenery around. Staff was very helpful. Nice villas and helpful staff. Buffet food was average but ala cart e was good.

Amazing location. Very well maintained property with a lot of activities. Food spread was excellent and room service and house keeping were very prompt. Staff at reception can be a bit more welcoming to ensure a good experience for guests. The restaurant needs more hands and two or more supervisors to overview tables. We enjoyed the cycle ride along the lake. Overall a very nice property to spend time with family.

The facility is well planned and beautiful. The location is very good and safe for families. One of the best locations in kodaikanal

The location of the Sterling Kodai Lake is perfect, the food quality is excellent, the staff is very hospitable overall value for money
