Sunny Desert Camp

I visited Jaisalmer for three nights, staying at a different place each time, but this is the only one which is still stuck in my head, and I don't think I'll ever be able to forget the experience. The reasons behind choosing this Camp were the location and the staff. Khuri isn't much commercialized like sam, so you get a more exclusive experience along with extremely clean and natural dunes, which are still garbage free because of the constant efforts of the staff. The tents and the facilities provided were way beyond what I expected for the price! The swiss tents offer a separate sitting area outside the room, while room provides utmost luxury! The beautiful king size beds were made of sandstone and the bathroom and room were as clean and hygienic that one can possibly imagine! Now, coming to the best part of the Camp, the staff. I found a family away from my home here. Tane Singh Ji and Kheta treated us with so much compassion and dedication, that I seriously now consider them as my own brothers. They were more than happy to arrange beds for us to sleep in the dunes and also a jeep safari to see the sunrise in the morning. They were always ready to provide anything to their guests, and this combined with the excellent services offered, like the tasty food, cultural program, camel safari, jeep safari etc. Motivated me to write this review for them. I wish them all the best by heart and totally recommend others to visit this magical place! I think I'll only be visiting Jaisalmer now to spend a few nights here!

Staying at a camp so on the desert had been one of my dreams, which fulfilled today. I'm glad I referred to various reviews and ratings and chose Sunny Desert Camp. I will give a 5-star rating to this hidden gem. Totally loved the stay and the experience here. Khetu ki, Tane ji, Amrut and the whole staff made sure our stay at the resort was pleasant. Special requests for my kid's meals were happily received and served immediately. We couldn't stop playing in sand at resort every few hours. It was right there in front, below and behind our tent-suite. For my kid, it was just a big "sand pit" :-) The courtyard experience in evening is a recommended one. Rajasthani folk performance, dhol-tabla thaaps, harmonium pe dhun, har taal ko sajata kartaal, and jugalbandi bit were all quite good. Kaalbeliya dancer is very talented - in fact she also picked 2 rings using her eye lashes, bending backwards! The courtyard is prepared after 7 pm when it's dark, being lit only by dim lights for ambiance and a bonfire. You can enjoy your complementary evening snacks with your choice of drink or hookah. They have a Dune Safari on Mahindra Thar / Gypsy at an added cost, but totally worth it. Enjoy the untamed and undulated desert dunes in speed with these skilled drivers. They also offer Camel Rides at added cost. Rather than Sam, go for a stay at Khuri. It's much less crowded, yet has all the facilities. You can also hear yourself, rather than listening to other's che-che po-po.

The sunny camp is the best option to pick if you want to experience the desert in peace and it's natural beauty. It's about 40kms away from main jaisalmer town in village barn a just before khuri. There are many camps around khuri but the sunny camp has the best location with private dunes. Most of the other camps are cramp and build up very close to each other. The journey between jaisalmer and the camp is amazingly beautiful, narrow but well-maintained road and vast open desert on the sides. Giant windmills and it's very likely to spot some deers on the way and around the camp. The food tastes great here. The preparation is done in a modest way to make it authentic. It's a buffet system but they are open to taking any special requests. All the staffs are from the local area only with sunny the owner himself. Everyone is polite and very humble. Tents are clean and look new with attached bathrooms. It's a desert but no problem with water. The jeep safari is a bit expensive but the prices are all same with other capms considering you are paying almost the same price of the room rate for 10 minutes ride, but it is must to try out. The camel ride to the sunset point was included in the room price though which is again a great deal.
The camp is build in an vast open area, no neighbourhood around. Each camp/ room is very far from each other so there is hardly any chance to get close to anyone. In fact these kind of place is the safest place at this moment.

We were travel-ling to jaisalmer as 2 couples and came across this property as we wanted something a little far from the crowded places! it was probably the best decision we took to start our trip with. Sunnyji and everyone present there spoil t us with their excellent and exceptional hospitality!from cleanliness, tents, food, cultural program, jeep safari and camel ride everything turned out to be way above our expectations! the jeep safari was the best experience ever! the only regret of the trip is that we stayed there only for 1 night! to all the ppl reading this, i would suggest you to book at-least 2 nights in this camp if not more while you check all the touristy places around! do not miss the camel ride and jeep safari at sunset. It was one of the most memorable and peaceful experience! its lime having the desert all to yourself. Also the sunrise was to die for! sunny and his team looked after us from the moment we arrived to the time we left. Hospitality and warm and welcoming approach and beautiful accommodation would be a treat for anyone on their trip to jaisalmer!

This place is definitely one of the best in jaiselmer. The camp is well equipped with all the modern facilities including attached bathroom, heater, etc. And people over here was the best. They tried their best to make us feel welcome and comfortable during the 2 days we have been staying here. The food was really delicious 😋 Tent was so comfortable. They used to come and check up on us if we needed anything. Lunch and dinner was amazing. This has become my second home for the 3 daysI had been there. Food -> Superb, they provide an amazing buffet Camp -> Clean, comfortable and well equipped People -> Deserves 10 stars for their hospitality. The most sweetest and caring ❣️ Activities - JEEP SAFARI -> Really worth your money. Definitely a must thing to do Camel Safari -> it'll be included in your package. Yet another must thing to do when you visit desert

Fantastic experience! I have no words to say how beautiful was my staying in this amazing place. Sunny is the owner, he is a lovely gentleman and the staff is very professional, kind and friendly, taking care of each our need at all time. We definitely felt like at home. Excellent atmosphere, superb and genuine food, very big and super comfortable tents. Excellent cleanliness, above the standards. Camel safari was very beautiful, riding gentle camels among astonishing dunes. Sunrise and sunset? Oh gosh, such a gorgeous experiences. I also slept in the desert under the stars in a wonderful and peaceful environment. In the evening, we participated to colorful parties with local music and dances in a magic frame. What else may I say! I definitely wish to come back to Sunny Desert Camp one day. Highly recommended.

Excellent level of hospitality and great behaviour of staff. Cleanliness was at the best. They go extreme to make you feel comfortable and always at your service. Very humble with nature and helpful. We went as a couple and was only planning to stay for one night, but we liked it so much so we extended our stay. They have camel ride and jeep safari, you should try, both are awesome and can enjoy the sunrise and the sunset. Also, it was wonderful to watch the folk dance and songs they sang. We didn’t feel like leaving the place at all but because of lack of time, we had to leave. Already planning to visit again and stay at sunny dessert camp for long time. We strongly recommend this camp, if you really want to enjoy peace and get the best service. It was wonderful experience to enjoy typical rajasthan culture.

Located in the Desert National Park, this location is quiet and beautiful. The desert has a different feel altogether. If you venture outside, you'll spot camels, deer and even nilgai and foxes. The facilities at the camping site are awesome. The tent is luxurious and there is hot water 24x7. There's even wi-fi and the food's decent. The camel safari was brilliant and early next morning sunny was kind enough to take me to sand dunes in a jeep. He got some mad driving skills. In the night it got cold but the views of the desert washed in moonlight were perfect. I couldn't have hoped for a better experience. Value for money.

It's third season of sunny desert camp in business. Though a newcomer but is game changer. Excellent stay followed by evening safari and cultural program and delicious vegetarian food. The staff is very cooperative and our special requests are duly attended to our satisfaction. Great resort at very reasonable price.

We are very happy with our stay here. Mr. Tan singh is very welcoming and helpful. He drove us from the city to the desert camp and also took us for dessert safari which was also a very good experience. Mahendar served us very well and catered to all our special requests. The food was very nice and the cultural program was also very good. We had a great time overall at sunny dessert camp.

The stay was very pleasant. Staff very helpful and polite, prepared breakfast for us at 5:30 in rhea morning. Events and safari made our evening!
