Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms

Stayed at this homestay along with wife and two grown up kids from 3rd to 6th June 2016. Wanted to take a break from the Mumbai grind. Chose this place based on favorable reviews on the internet found it to be a wonderful place. It is not a corporate type homestay and so the experience was different. The twin bedded executive room was spacious for a family of four. A big drawback in homestays which have 3 star or more ratings is that they will not allow a family of four to stay together and force the family to occupy 2 rooms not only does this increase the expenditure but more importantly it defeats the purpose of a family vacation what is the big deal in staying in 2 separate rooms. Luckily in this place our 4 member family could stay together and comfortably. The room had a small sit out balcony where. I sat in the mornings sipping masala tea and gazing at the tea estate and the hills that lay in the background. The reception area is cramped by corporate standards but the staff manning the reception are friendly welcoming and receptive to the requirements of guests. They went out of the way to inquire about our needs The place does not have any lawn or garden so once you reach this place you have to stick to your room. The food is extraordinary I have tasted the best of cuisine in Mumbai and in Tamil Nadu and I found the food here to be of top quality their idlis dosas vadas along with the accompanying sambar coconut chutney tomato chutney beetroot chutney pudina chutney were super so were the appams with the accompanying stew and kadala kootu. The peanut masala and onion pakodas were another delight. The top dishes for me was the Chicken Chettinad and the Kerala fish Curry the last one is divine. This place supplies you with fresh towels herbal soap herbal shampoo etc so guests do not have to pack in these items as they may fear since it is not a corporate place. The geyser works and the hot water is satisfactory If the bathroom door and the ventilator are left open as instructed by the. Management the room becomes cool otherwise it may feel stuffy as we found out The USP of this place is their Hospitality Reena and her female colleague and Sai at the desk Sharad and his comrades at the dining room the cooks who conjured up those culinary delights all of them contributed to making us feel at ease and at home Unlike corporate homestays at breakfast time we can be seated comfortably at our places while their staff come to our tables and serve us with piping hot food. They also make adjustments as per our taste in stark contrast to big homestays where they leave the guests to fend for themselves and speak snootily Ashokan who did a wonderful job of massaging was humility personified. The Lady who owned the place was so simple and humble amazing. All in all a wonderful place with a superior kind of hospitality.

We are a family of 4 and stated in the family room (outside the premises. This means that the room we stated in is not in the main home stay premises but it's 100m away - basicall these guys have taken over a bunglow fo4 expansion. The room: 4 comfortable beds with 1 bathroom (it's clean but very small. There is no general toylet in the external premises - you will have to walk back to the main building to access another restroom. None of the rooms in this property (actuall most of the properties here) have a ceiling fan - they have a wall mounted small fan which isn't enough for a big family room with 4 beds - we traveled in may and afternoons can be slightlt hot - some ventilation in the room would help - the staff was kind and prompt in providing us an extra l pedestal fan which made this room a heaven- this is the best part of this room (1st floor olexternal premises) - tue view from the balcony is absolutely amazing (pic attached- completely makes up for the small negatives i have mentioned above. Food is very good and very decently priced- staff is amazing - sabik at the mother's receipe will serve you with all heart - babu at the front desk is a genuine and sweet guy who listens more than he talks - a trait that is rare among-st Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms staff these days. These guys have cab service as well which i strongly recommend for a day tour to ooty and back to conoor. Saves a lot of time and parking hassels especially at busy tourist spots - hari bhai (a really kind and caring man) who is there driver is whom you should specifically ask for - he is a good driver and is kind enough to share snippets about the town when he is driving you around. All in all, this place is worth the money you spend.

Appreciably they had sent me prevail email with their food menu and a map to reach the location map which I was not expecting and came as a pleasant surprise. The check in took very little time and was amazed to see many smiling faces around me. At this point I was still skeptical about the room and its views. As soon as I was made welcome in my room I was completely in awe of the views available from all of the properties in this homestay. A lot of planning has gone into the build and very good privacy is maintained all through the different rooms. The rooms are spacious with all amenities required The food was awesome simple and tasty. The views from the restaurant were breathtaking I cannot fail to mention Mr Chottu who made everybody stay awesome with his smiling face and helping nature. True value for money.

One of the best properties for a peaceful and luxurious vacation in Coonoor/Ooty. The location is absolutely scenic, rooms very comfortable and overlooking vast green valley. Loved the peaceful morning walks with direct access to the property's tea estate. Managers and staff are extremely friendly, courteous, and helpful, special thanks to Mr babu, Mr raghav, the lady at the welcome reception and staffs of the mother's recipe restaurant and kitchen. The food served is very hygienic and delicious. They paid special attention to the needs of my one year old baby's food too. The best part of the property is they plan your trip and arrange for sight seeing, bus and train pick and drop etc at very reasonable rates. The chauffers provided by them are very knowledgeable and friendly. In short they have everything under one roof to make your vacation truly amazing and memorable. For those who want to have a good time at a bar, look no further, they even have a nicely set bar nestled in their green space. The bartender mr pushpender is an absolute delight to talk. Would definitely want to come back here again time permitting.

I was travelling from Wayanad route my year end trip and had to book a Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms via online as my destination was Otty. Ended up picking Sunvalley Coonoor and one amongst the best bet I took The approach road can be a deterrent yes it s totally slippery most natural in places such as Ooty Coonoor but once inside the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms it totally a different world About the location. The Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms is picturesquely located in front of Tea Estate Getting a room with elevation and facing the Tea Estate can be the best sipping an early morning tea or coffee viewing the above Tea Estate can be a good start to the day. Also we can have a friendly walking tour inside the estate need to check with Front office before doing so food One word awesome. We had complimentary breakfast for all the 3 days we stayed and I can't even point one minor issue even the other foods we ordered during dinner was very nice Staff Very courteous Helpful Will definitely camp in Sun Valley if visiting Ooty again.

It is a resort Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms and not a home-stay. Good staff, good food. Clean rooms. Huge tea plantation on back side of the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms.

The destination was very good. The location of the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms was beautiful The garden was available at the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms. The parking facility was provided at the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms. The check in and checkout was on time in the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms The room was neat and clean. The complimentary breakfast was provided in the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms. The variety in food was available in the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms. The behaviour of the staff s was very friendly in the Sunvalley Homestay | Valley-view Rooms.

The stay was really very good. Location was easily accessible. Property was clean and facilities were there and view from the room was excellent and the food was extremely good. The caretaker were very helpful and it's a must recommended property.

I visited this place during our family vacation. This is one of the peaceful places there. The homestay was well built and maintained. The homestay staff were nice and were helpful in all means. We had no problems during check in and check out. The food quality was also good and satisfying. Overall had a nice experience.

I visited to Coonoor and stayed in Sun valley homestay. The booking for the homestay was very easy. The staff of the homestay was very helpful in providing service. The breakfast was complementary. The homestay provided with indoor activities. The food quality of the homestay was good and variety was available Parking facility was available. The location was easy to find. The homestay was value for money. The homestay room was neat and comfortable with all amenities. The homestay is recommendable to other travellers.

The location was quite tough to get to. Google maps wasn't great at identifying the route and the homestay itself was in a place where access was quite difficult. Having reached there, the property itself is right next to a very scenic tea estate. The staff was very courteous. Food was average and there isn't much for children to do here.
