Taj Bekal Resort & Spa, Kerala

We visited taj bekal resort & spa for celebrating our 7th anniversary and we were spellbound! the property is huge, and the cleanliness is top notch! surrounded by lush greenery, clean back waters and clean beach & sea, it was an amazing sight. The rooms are brimming with amenities and i got what i always wanted - a swing bed! but what made our experience more pleasant was the staff and the hospitality there. Oh! and not to forget the sumptuous food that we used to get everyday! we are still reminiscing the memories of the trip! we had booked a superior room for 2n and deluxe pool room for 1n. The beach is super-clean and they have mattresses from the Taj Bekal Resort & Spa, Kerala to sit on the beach and enjoy the waters - so thoughtful! they have dedicated personnel at every 10 steps of the property so that they can call a buggy for you wherever you are! i also recommend taking moonlight rafting - it was a romantic, peaceful experience. Our rower was also very cordial and warm. We took it for an hour and did star-gazing from the raft rowing in the calm backwaters in the evening. They also have a romantic candle-light setting and soft music playing in the raft. Would like to mention a few names who made it a memorable stay for us: 1. Front line desk: gopika, milu, supari, sudheesh - they ensured we got the best room and even gave us a free upgrade with a free access to the backwaters. Gopika also arranged a balloon and flower decoration in the room and balcony for our anniversary as well as the most amazing chocolate cake we ever had. Not only this, they also arranged for a hot water bubble bath decorated with rose petals which was very relaxing. Milu, supari - always smiling and always adhering to each of our small requests! sudheesh - this man gave us a wonderful surprise and took our stay to the next level! we requested for an early check-in into the pool room on the last night of our stay. We however weren't getting a faster response from the team which left us a little confused and disappointed. We then realised that they were actually waiting for the guests in the deluxe room above us to vacate it so that we could enjoy some privacy in the pool. Since we had requested for an early check-in, and it seems that the guests did not leave the room above us, they upgraded our stay ! what a room it was! we were enthralled by its beauty - it was a completely different experience! the private pool was surrounded by tall trees and huge plants to ensure nobody peeps in - complete privacy! it was luxury in the midst of nature, you could hear the birds chirping and leaves swaying. Plus swinging on the bed besides the pool made it a completely different experience for me! restaurant: chef ali & his team - one of the finest chefs we have ever known. So patient, so calm and so adept at whatever he cooks. He has never denied us anything that we asked for. And we are jains, so we had hot, steaming, jain food at our table every time we went to the restaurant. His pizzas, nasi goring rice and chinese preparations are class apart. And even north indian. Loved every morsel we ate at the restaurant. We would also recommend cheese cakes and gulab jamun in the desserts - super yummy. Chef santu: forever smiling and greeting, he was at the waffles and pancakes counter every morning. And he made the best pancakes and waffles in the world! he also made me a special waffle on my special request, even though it was difficult for him to arrange it since it was not a part of the menu. Sumod, sreejith, akhil, dipankar: they waited us so well at the restaurant. Never resented any request, were always patient and so very prompt and hospitable. They ensured that all our wishes were fulfilled and on time. Sumo d also helped us swap our lunch meal with dinner meal very proactively. We loved the hospitality of the staff at the restaurant. Dipankar waited us during the romantic candle-light dinner that my husband had arranged for us and complied to each and every request. Sreejith was very prompt and quick with his service always. On our last day, akhil even asked us if we would like to take some takeaways for our journey to the airport, very thoughtful. Cleanliness & housekeeping: pramod: he was so patient and warm and responded to each of the requests. His actions were also very quick. I am a stickler for cleanliness and he ensured that am well satisfied. Vyshak - he cleaned our pool very well and that too twice. Buggy-ride: we don't remember the name of a bald man in his mid-forties. He was extremely helpful and quick with his response for buggy requests. Prajin - such smiling buggy-man. He made our day with his pleasing actions and demeanour. Professional photographer: prajwal - what a man! he made it the best trip for us! one of the best photographers i have ever come across, so patient and caring, so flexible and ever-smiling. We have had amazing clicks because of him. He found out the best locations for us and also recommended the best times for photography. The charges are also nominal and one should hire him whenever you visit taj bekal. We hired his services for 1. 5 hours. Our check-out formalities were also very well taken care of. We had one of the best stays of a lifetime and would want to return to the property very very soon! thank you everyone for making it such a beautiful, memorable, splendid experience!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a Taj Bekal Resort & Spa, Kerala with a splunge pool room and private beach, and i must say it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment i arrived, i was impressed by the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. The room itself was spacious and luxurious, with a comfortable bed and modern amenities. The splunge pool was a particular highlight, providing a refreshing and private way to cool off after a long day of exploring the area. It was the perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff at the Taj Bekal Resort & Spa, Kerala were friendly and accommodating, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the local area and provided excellent recommendations for activities and restaurants. Overall, i highly recommend this Taj Bekal Resort & Spa, Kerala to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway. The splunge pool room and private beach were exceptional amenities, and the staff was second to none. I look forward to returning in the future!

What's cool about the spot - Serenely located amongst the backwaters and adjacent to the Arabian sea is this fantastic resort. The infrastructure is clean and well maintained, cottages do show age though. The staff were very friendly, especially at the backwater cafe, Arun and Sujay did a great job at customized hospitality/dining. Private beach adds to the charm. With a handful of other 5 star options in Bekal and Nileshwar, overall service will have to be notched up a bit to stay competitive. Minor drawbacks in service were visible in multiple instances. Definitely recommend it - will I visit again ? May be not due to slightly better options around the area.

Taj Bekal is one of the most beautiful and unique Taj properties I have visited. As you enter, an immediate sense of calm and serenity can be felt. There is greenery, water and beautiful sculptures all around the lovely property. You get a feel of both the Kerala backwaters as well as the serene, golden Bekal beach with rivals any other beach in India in beauty. We went in peak season, yet the beach was quite peaceful. The pool villa with day bed was amazing, rooms lovely with a sit out overlooking the backwaters and an open air bath tub and shower. All this with the trustworthy Taj hospitality and food Loved the stay and will definitely go again!

This property is tucked away in between the backwaters and the west coast at bekal. The room is very spacious with a open air backyard with a traditional swing to sway along with the palms. Room amenities are on point, typical of taj. Rear access to the backwaters from the room. Service is good and responsive from housekeeping to front office. Private beach access from property. Clean beach and private. Can enjoy time on beach. You can request for chair from the staff to lounge on the beach and enjoy the sunset. Breakfast had the variety but could improve on the taste front. Overall a great getaway on the west coast to enjoy a weekend

1. The toilet has no outlet for water, should be redesigned for better comfort keeping in mind indian customers requirements and habits. 2. Though there are lots of varieties of food in buffet, food items secerly lack in taste, starters (fish) is too hard, bland hard fish pakoda is served as fish koliwada, mutton rogan josh was sweet, biryani tastes like eating warm cooked rice and boiled chicken. Chinese foid items lack the tanginess for which chinese food is relished. Bhajiyas served for high tea were icecold. Taj bekal needs a new team of chefs with better understanding of taste and indian palate.

Property is located in close proximity to kappil beach. It has a private access which makes it more comfortable. Food is top notch as how one would expect taj properties to be. They made sure to customise our food options as per our requests. There are multiple things to do in the resort itself as well as they cater special trips if one is interested. Only drawback was the in room service which i found to be very slow. It took 50mins to deliver to cups of coffee. Overall lovely experience and highly recommended for every individual whether travel-ling as a family or as a couple.

Three of us, self, spouse and son reached taj around 3. 00 pm. On arrival we were welcomed with sea shell malai and fresh lemon juice. We checked in to our allotted room. The property is spread in about 25 acres and about 75 rooms are there. The property is very well maintained with lots of greenery. The room is very clean and maintained very well. There was a king size bed and it was comfortable. Food was excellent. However, service was little slow and there is scope for some improvement. Overall, our experience was very good and would like to revisit in future.

Overall it was good experience, I could visit again, great hospitality, Amazing food, every one was very welcoming. Compared to price my expectations were very high for room but it was okay.

Awesome ambience and it was a different world altogether. We enjoyed the breakfast spread. All the outdoor activities were chargeable which was a bit of disappointment. We did enjoy playing table tennis and the swimming pool. Overall experience was good.

The property was gorgeous! and so worth, there has been no boring time throughout the property. Will also suggest to book the pool villa. The service throughout be it housekeeping or the restaurant was outstanding. The breakfast spread and live kitchen was also great! thanks taj bekal for the memorable moment!

Taj bekal is a wonderful property. The property is in junction of a backwater lagoon and main sea. Lush green garden, vibrant pool, activity area and a beautiful bridge on top of the backwater made the property unique. The food of this resort is also very good. Overall the stay was memorable

Infrastructure, amenities, rooms, location all superb. The buffet was good. Did not enjoy pizza much ordered in ala carte. Had issues with wifi. Overall a superb stay, but an expensive one.

Nice ambiance, facilities were good
