A beautiful property in the heart of the city. Verandha- the restaurant serves amazing food, one is totally pampered by the restaurant team. We were smitten by the hospitality of Shahji and Patibha in Verandha. But, made our experience memorable was meeting Ms. Jasmine in the lobby. I had met her in Taj Coromandel before and was aware how kind and alert she is. And this time I was travelling with my mother and I was extremely lucky to have her in this property! She has high emotional intelligence and makes the lobby area very lively with engaging interactions with the guests. She made my mother extremely comfortable and went out her way to see that our stay was comfortable ( which I had seen before also she does with all the guests). Will surely visit this property because the experience was amazing. It is a heritage property and it feels great to stay there.

Poor Stay

The Grand King Room faces the Coovam river where there was some construction work going on through out the night time. This information was not given at the time of room allotment. We couldn't sleep the whole night. They pretended that they were not aware and the change of room was not possible due to full occupancy, which was not true.

The property looks amazing. Food was upto the mark. The property has started showing its age. Especially the bathroom and other amenities look old and need renovation. Enquiry about the spa service was made twice but never got a reply. The front office staff also need to attend better to indian customers the same way they cater to the foreigners.

I paid for the stay but it was not worth it at all. Rooms were very small and old. Conditions of floor and furniture was poor. The tariff shouldnât have been more for this hotel. Food was not great too. Overall, we were not satisfied.
