Teanest review Good: 1. The property is nestled amongst beautiful tea gardens. You get excellent views in both morning and evening. In the day time, you can enjoy excellent sunshine. They also provide a carrom board, badminton racquets, books, puzzles, etc. 2. During British times, this cottage served as the residence of the manager of the tea estate. It gives you the pleasure of staying in a well-maintained colonial bungalow. All furniture inside the suites gives the feeling of living in the days of yore. It is more beautiful than what it appears in the pictures. 3. There are two suites in this cottage - Basil (450 sq ft) and Rosemary (350 sq ft. The Basil suite also has its own private drawing room, which is located inside the suite. Outside the suites, there is a common verandah for both the suites, which offers excellent views, and also serves as the dining room. There is a table on which you can easily work on your laptop. In the main Teanest building, there are six rooms of different sizes. 4. If you wish to spend your time reading a book in a hammock, there is one! 5. The chef at the Annexe building, Chef Imad, makes great food - Continental, Chinese, special seven course tea menu, south Indian, north Indian, evening snacks, pakoras, etc. We were there for five days, but never got bored of the food. 6. Breakfast options: Set dosa, neer dosa, podi dosa, plain/onion/masala dosa, dal vada, chana vada, idli sambhar, pongal (ghee rice, Paratha, poori sabzi, pancakes with honey, eggs made to order, upma, cut fruit, different juices, tea/coffee/milk. 7. The gardners do a great job, keeping the lawns and flowers well-pruned and in great condition. 8. The manager of Tea Nest Annexe, Mr. Nikhil Kumar is very professional and polite. He even dished out a wonderful seven course Tea themed meal for us. Bad: 1. More options like poha, cutlets, sausage, etc could be offered for breakfast, even though all south Indian options and other items like pancakes, were very tasty. 2. Bath towels, etc were not in a great condition. 3. They did not provide hand towels even after repeated requests. 4. Bath towels are not changed daily, unless you ask them to be changed. Ugly: 1. When we checked in, we were informed that there would be a birdwatching tour at 7.30 am every day, and a tea plantation tour at 5 pm every day, for which we would need to go to the main Teanest building, which is 800 m away, and it is uphill. We confirmed about this tour from Mr. David at the property one night before, but when we reached the main Teanest building at 7.25 am the next day, we were first asked to wait, and ten minutes later, told that the tour was cancelled. This was very unprofessional. 2. We had booked rooms with complimentary breakfast, and were given complimentary breakfast in the Annexe building every day. When we were going for the birdwatching tour, we were told by Mr. David that we could have our breakfast at the main Teanest building since the menu was exactly the same. Upon reaching there, firstly, the tour did not take place as mentioned above, and then, Mr. Shekhar first told us that we could have breakfast in the Earl Grey restaurant at the main Teanest building. After thirty minutes, Mr. Prakash came and told us that this breakfast was not complimentary. Such kind of conduct / approach of misguiding guests is absolutely unacceptable in the hospitality industry. Overall, I would say that it was a very good experience, would have rated it Outstanding, had it not been for the reasons mentioned above.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service that made our stay truly memorable. The scenic beauty of tea plantations surrounding the property is breathtaking, offering the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway. The reception staff, jayshree and vishnu, were incredibly attentive and welcoming, ensuring our check-in process was smooth and that all our needs were met throughout our stay. Manager nelson went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, and ranjit, the service captain, along with prakash from the service team, were always ready to assist with a friendly attitude that made us feel right at home. A special mention has to go to mahadev, the chef whose culinary creations were a highlight of our trip. The food was exquisite, and each dish seemed crafted with care and passion. I’ll be talking about his cooking for years to come! if you're looking for a beautiful place with a dedicated, welcoming team and food you’ll dream about, this property is a must-visit. We stayed for 2 nights. The property location is very scenic and within the tea estate. Woke up every day with beautiful views having passing clouds and mist. The staff are very cordial and always with smiling face. We loved the food and it was really good. I totally recommend tea-nest for anyone who want to stay at conoor. The property was quite good and uniquely positioned with a picturesque view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Some more maintenance of the property is required. But overall experience was quite good.
