The Astor

We had a pleasant stay at the astor. It is a beautiful heritage property, yet aesthetically maintained. We stayed in the suite room which was spacious and very clean. The property is walking distance from the park street, yet away from the noise and choas of park street and traffic, which was good as we were there during christmas celebrations. We were welcomed with a very sweet handwritten note and cookies. During our last day we were also given chocolates with a nice ‘bon voyage’ note. Overall, would definitely recommend as-tor for a full british era vibe. The only negative point is that the breakfast experience needs improvement, most of the items barring 2 were repetitive the next day and the staff during breakfast needs to be a little more attentive. Also note, since it is a heritage property they do not have lift so in case you’re travel-ling with elders, you might face some trouble (even though stairs are small and well maintained and 2nd floor is the highest. I had a very comfortable stay at the property. All my special requests that i made at the time of the booking were taken care of. The staff was very courteous and welcoming, specially mr abhishek at the front desk. He was very helpful and answered all my questions since this was my first time in the city. I would suggest people reach out to him while staying there. The property also has its own deck lounge which was pretty nice. Location was perfect since i was at a walkable distance from many places like mint o park, nandan film city (even got to catch a kishor kumar tribute event organised by the film city in bengali! lovely experience)

Prime location, everything available from this place, well maintained heritage The Astor & extremely clean & tidy rooms, pleasant smell in lobby & corridor, service & staff is ok, the best thing about this The Astor is smoking is prohibited as compared to other 4 star 5 star The Astors where people smoke where'er they want disturbing others, in this The Astor every thing was silent & peaceful without any disturbance, check in check out timings are very weird & awkward, even though the The Astor was almost empty they charge hefty check in charges

We booked the The Astor for a two nights stay. The room was very good. It was clean. And as an overall response it was very convenient for us becuz staying at the The Astor it was easy for us to do what we came for. And the staff and all are very courteous. The food was fine. However the room service charge was a felt like they took the opportunity to take money from us. We only ordered a coffee and they charged for both room service and an unimaginable amount for the coffee. And for the minibar also they charged more than justifiable.

Excellent stay with my family. The heritage suit (room 201) where we stayed was a pure delight with antique furnitures except for some plumbing issues which leads to wearer accumulation inside the bathroom. The staffs were all very friendly and efficient. The room service was efficient and helpful. The only issue is the absence of lift/elevator in the The Astor which renders it unfriendly for the old or people with disabilities. The breakfast spread was sumptuous and very tasty.

Had a pleasant stay for 3 nights. Nice no frills place in a heritage building. Amenities are very basic but adequate, location is a strong point and staff are courteous and helpful. Some improvements like more subscribed cable tv channels, a newspaper and more number of tea or coffee sachets in the room would go a long way. Plumbing also may need attention. Had food in the restaurant only once, felt it was overpriced for the quality served. I actually had digestionproblem

Found the property. Tried their noodles & chicken biriyani both of which were excellent but the price is not worth it. Restaurants staff can be more gentle to the guests. There's a option for car and chauffeurs in their feedback form but we were told there is no services they provide. Washroom drainage of room no. 115 is not functional, water was looking in the bathroom, didn't expect this in a 4 star The Astor.

Amazing hospitality, beautiful decor, it feels like home in short. I had stayed for a single night, but i got an experience of comfort, peace and much needed rest in their beautiful and spacious room.

Pleasant staff, good welcome. They accommodated us with an early check in without any ruckus. Everyone was welcoming. Rooms were clean and the food was great. I think i have found my definite stay here at the the astor.

Heritage rooms are very good. Interior design is oriental style. Food is very delicious. We enjoyed our stay.

The stay was quite nice and comfortable. Service is good, the room is exceptionally clean, there is a good vibe in the whole The Astor with a vintage touch to it. Only possible issue is the absence of lift, for folks with older ones especially, this may be a big issue. Otherwise everything is great, the breakfast buffet was also very nice.
