The Dutch Bunglow by Abad

We stayed at this property for 2 days on New year. Great property, as the name suggests Heritage property. We had booked heritage room, room is big, all wood interiors, wall, ceiling, floor. Bed and other amenities in the room is good. Tea/Coffee is not on individual rooms placed on common hall, which is not an inconvenience. It's very near to pool, one can take a coffee and can sit near the pool and relax. The pool is another highlight, small shallow family pool with enough depth for a quick swim for adults. My 8 year old daughter was enjoying it very much. We had breakfast and New year eve dinner from the property. Breakfast spread is good enough for a lazy day breakfast. Tea/Coffee is served on table. The chefs prepared us Dosa and Chutney even though it was not in menu. We had New year eve dinner with live music. The food and arrangements was nice. There were too many items on menu. Our trip to Fort Kochi was to see the Cochin New year Carnival, which starts around christmas and finishes with burning of effigy called as "Pappanji" (meaning old man in Portuguese) on 1st 12 AM. The location of property is a stone throw away from here. If you are looking to visit fort Kochi to visit this, this is one of the best locations. Otherwise also the location is near to all the Fort Kochi attractions. Overall a very good experience and I recommend this The Dutch Bunglow by Abad.

One of the best heritage The Dutch Bunglow by Abads in fort kochi. Rooms are very spacious and neat. Staffs were very friendly and cooperative. Breakfast buffet was also good (not much spread and ok as far as taste. Have swimming pool which was neat and clean. The property is at walking distance from fort kochi beach and some good cafes. There is “no parking facility”, you have to park in the road side. Actually when i searched in mmt, it was shown that there was free parking facility but not to be. When i went for morning walk i realized that you won’t find parking in any The Dutch Bunglow by Abads in fort kochi. Anyway there is a security at night and the front desk said not to worry. Also there was no tea/coffee maker in the rooms which i felt a drawback. Coming to rates, we booked heritage boutique rooms for rs 6500 which i felt was little higher. But overall a nice property to stay.

Very good place, and indeed a dutch bungalow, which captures all the magestic features of 1700's architectural style. Very good location, good ambience, very good staff and service. There is a lot of wood work in the building, which is maintained as is, to offer a heritage stay feeling, which is appreciable. Rooms are well kept, however in my opinion the building's wood work needs a little more maintainence, (wooden ceilings/wood panel-led walls, floors furniture's etc) considering the moist climate of kerala, wood polish was little withered and building needs a little more maintainence. All together it was an awsome experience to stay in dutch bunglow in the heart of fort kochi.

It has been a wonderful experience in this The Dutch Bunglow by Abad. The hospitality is really good. Nice clean rooms. Outside rooms good space where we can sit and enjoy. Tea maker is not available in the room. Breakfast could have better spreads. Swimming pool is good and food is not costly. They have a library. Overall it was a good experience. People are really friendly. Parking is bit a problem as they don’t have parking space or vallet parking. Rooms are spacious however beds are not queen size. They arranged two cots which makes a small gap between the beds. Food order takes lot of time however serving fresh food

This is a property built in 1600s by dutch and is a heritage property. The rooms have been well maintained and the sanctity of tradition has been preserved. Though old, the property has been well maintained. Location wise, it's close to the beach as well as the bazaar. Food is homely and well prepared.
Our temperature check was done on arrival. Luggage was sanitised before getting into the room. Sanitizers have been kept everywhere for the use of guests.

Loved the property, not a big one but worth every penny! we were upgraded without any additional cost considering we were accompanied with infant and kid. Food in the restaurant is equally good. If i have to suggest something to management, it will be, fixing few things like door not locking properly, side lamps can be considered for strengthening. The best part is the people taking care of the property are really helpful. Keep up the good job ! thanks

We stayed as a couple at dutch bunglow. The property is managed well by abad group and the architecture and ambience is great. The poolside dining area is quite nice to chill and relax. We got upgraded to the suit room at upper floor facing the pool area so it was a great view. The bathroom was spacious and clean. Staff was very helpful and food was yummy! 5 stars for overall stay. Very prime area in fort kochi. Walkable to chinese fishing nets.

Location is good and staff is friendly but this is clearly catering to non Indian tourists. Breakfast menu is very limited and only one Indian item was served. Doesn't have a liquor license so you need to purchase from outside and consume only in the room. Common areas are out of bounds for alcohol consumption. Dal roti restaurant and Fabindia outlet are adjacent to the The Dutch Bunglow by Abad and both good options.

The ambience, staff, food everything was nice. The live music in the resturant was amazing. Very near to the beach, shopping

The place is exactly as shown in pictures and better i enjoyed the dutch build of the house, and the marked difference from city life food is good and people humble

The rooms were good, neat bathroom s. But since our room was on the ground floor there was a lot of disturbance and noise from the top floor.

The rooms were clean, cosy and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the food was good. I would recommend the place to others.

The two women at reception could not have been more helpful The The Dutch Bunglow by Abad has lovely colonial rooms and is very centrally located I can't think of a bad thing to say

A wonderful experience as it’s in the heart of fort kochi. The building has a picturesque architectural history behind it. Well kept pool and reliable in house services.

That was what it was for 2 days. Good ambience and polite service. The best part was sitting in the restaurant by the swimming pool.

Stayed for 2 nights with my family. Visited Fort Kochi for Biennale art festival. The staff at The The Dutch Bunglow by Abad were very forthcoming and helpful. Great service and fast. The manager was very helpful and sweet. They accommodated with our 3 hours early check in and 6 hours of late check out. Thank you so much Dutch bungalow team.

With a great location and good service, dutch bungalow is value for money and a very good heritage experience.
