Unbelievable hospitality with great staff and extremely well maintained property! Beautiful location and very rare to get such serenity

Property has got character and soul and history and heritage ❤️ bliss getting up to the blessings and divinity of Mt Kanchenjunga in all its sunkissed splendour 😍The ambience is fantastic with an old world charm and impeccably maintained ✨the chef Nilumani is simply outstanding 😋we were on full board and as our room was a bit steep away from the restaurant,they accommodated us very often with in room dining served splendid ❤️blessed by lovely weather though could get warm at midday and there is no air conditioning in the property though MMT states there is in basic amenities...we have brought it to their attention.... it's a must stay and i literally dozed off post breakfast for a few hours on one of the garden benches with the cool mountain breeze lulling me to sleep...a kind garden help came and put a cushion to support my head ... tranquil at most times though a few children having their usual fun , especially at breakfast time...go early for breakfast to get seating outside ...chef packed us wonderful aloo & gobi parathas as we left early after checkout for our drive back into Siliguri...just go ,roads are fairly safe though rough at many stretches and would strongly recommend a good car like the Innova Crysta to navigate these without feeling the bumps...property is in upper Pelling and the location is fabulous...go when you can

Place is beautiful. the property is superb with great lawns and strolling areas. But when comes to stay, in the excuse of heritage property, the staffs rule out giving good rooms. Rooms were not up to the mark, holes in the windows etc. floor was cracked. food was ok. very ordinary food with chicken and Pungas fish. Even breakfast was not good after paying Rs 21000 per night MAP plan.

Service and Hospitality at the resort is lethargic and average. So the case with the food, the view, however, from the resort simply fantastic, this can be a really good place if they can step up food and service.

Beautiful heritage property! Majestic views of Kanchanjunga Burma teak furniture,old world charm and fabulous hospitality! Food service was great and provided a lot of choices in breakfast and dinner! The staff always seemed ready to please The property had lovely lawns with birdsongs and flowers in full bloom! During my recent stay at the hotel, I had booked the deluxe rooms, which were impressively spacious. The size of the rooms was complemented by equally large bathrooms, providing a sense of luxury and comfort. Each room featured a balcony, offering a serene view and a place to unwind. Despite being a short walk from the main lobby and reception, the rooms were impeccably maintained. The overall experience was heightened by the excellent food and service provided by the hotel staff. Every meal was delicious, and the service was attentive and accommodating. From the cleanliness of the rooms to the quality of food and service, the hotel exceeded my expectations and provided a memorable stay.

The rooms in the cottage are extremely large. Old world charm with photos & carpeted stairs. Beautiful decor. Very clean & well landscaped resort. Great food - breakfast & dinner. Fantastic views. Three minuses - very inhospitable front desk, very tiny uncomfortable commodes in the rather large bathrooms, quite an uphill walk from the cottages to the main building so not suitable for elderly people in the absence of golf carts.

Stay was good. Rooms were clean and staff were good. View from hotel was great.

Location is great, food was nice and even people were good but there are some details which need to be addressed by the hotel. That fine tuning is missing!

Beautiful location and wonderful views of kanchenjung. We got a premium room. The bed was very comfortable and one could see the mountain from the bed. There was a wonderful balcony also. Cookies were served everyday in the room. The only thing lacking was the north indian food items and lack of non veg options. The indian chinese was good. I think the chef for north indian and south indian food needs to improve a little. The service staff is very courteous and efficient.

We went in off-season and it was a pleasant experience. The hotel still contains the old charm of the vintage hotels. The staff is cordial but don’t expect the same service provided by other 4 star or 5 star modern chains. The view of k2 is beautiful and is not over hyped, it is worth it.

First of I will start with that this is the place you need to AVOID visiting ever in your lifetime. I went there with my family, reception was of no help Mr Debojeet Mukherjee is rude, liar and lost person. We booked premium cottage Rs 28,434/- for our 2 night stay. When we were taken in our room the room was dirty like hell, toilet seat had spots, coasters were as if they were used, furniture had spots, bedsheet wasn’t smooth, water was not fresh, headrest of bed was broken. No secure latches. We had to ask for other smaller options due to security reasons and for that there was a 100 meter steep walk with no lighting in night time. All other rooms were not even prepared and were even worst. WE WERE THE ONLY GUEST! We had to spend the night closer to reception room due to security reasons in a lowest category room and we checked out one night earlier the first thing in the morning. Debojeet wasn’t apologizing and didn’t let us talk to management. We were scared so left the property. He didn’t let us fill the check-out form either. DO NOT STAY ON THIS PROPERTY. They are not refunding the money even for the night we didn’t stayed. Horrible management, hyped up prices. We are filing a complaint against hotel reception and management.Save yourself trouble and do not go there.

Nice hotel. We stayed at premium cottages which are good in size with balcony. Good view of kanchenjunga from the balcony. Only issue is that you have to walk a lot to reach to restaurant and lobby. May be difficult for elderly people.

I got a super small room which not at all value for money, i stayed in darjeeling elgin with same of the amount with best room and service, moreover they charge differently for same item, over it is most pathetic. the room was not at all same with the pictures, this kind of incident not expected from elgin. Extremely disjointed

We stayed at the property for 2 nights in the first week of june. With the onset of monsoon in the mountains, elgin gives the best hospitality and the amazing view of the peak (if one is lucky. The rooms are well maintained and with proper amenities. For senior citizens, it is advised not to opt for the new cottages or buildings since it is spread out and the walk is quite steep to the dining. Room service is available, though. Suggestion : arrange for battery operated car for movement and convenience. We visited at the onset of monsoon hence there were plenty of insects, wild spiders, leeches in and around which was a little uncomfortable. Thanks to all the staff for their services and making our stay memorable.

This was one of the most beautiful heritage property i have stayed in since a long time. It’s right on top of the mountain, with a white decor laced in luxury. This was the last sikkim maharajas property, now converted in a hotel managed by oberois. The rooms are a bit compact due to lots of furniture, however the luxury of it takes care of that. The service is very elegant and staff very courteous. If in pelling don’t miss staying here for a couple of days. Pretty close to the main pelling market too.

It is beautiful property which gives us a real treat to eyes. Surrounded amid-st mountain all over with goog view was another charm. Having good family time there. Small celebration done for my hubby' birthday and staff was so cooperative. Only thing is dinning hall needs to be little big.

The property is very good with great staff. The location is exceptional with scenic views. The cottages are extremely great and well maintained.
