Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive

I recently stayed for 4 nights at taj vivanta marine drive in kochin during my holiday, and while the property is quite old and outdated, it is undergoing renovations in a phased manner. The 5th and 6th floors are fully renovated and have a nice, chic, and contemporary feel. As are the lobby and restaurant. The view from the deluxe harbor view room is very good, but partial. The sea view rooms likely offer more unobstructed views. A significant advantage of this property is its direct access to marine drive, which is a great value add. Additionally, there was a complimentary boat ride on one of the days. However, my experience with the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive's communication was disappointing. Despite multiple emails requesting an early check-in, no effort was made by the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive to reach out and give either a yes or a no. I was kept guessing till the end. My request for a room on the 6th floor was also not communicated to the front desk and they gave me a room on the 4th floor upon arrival. There seems to be a lack of coordination between the team handling email communication and the front desk. On the bright side, the check-in process itself was extremely smooth. The breakfast buffet was of good quality, but the spread was not very impressive, consisting of standard, predictable fare. Given that it's a business Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive, one can't expect too much variety, but i would have appreciated at least 1-2 memorable dishes to mark the holiday. The service, however, was nonintrusive. I tend to eat dinner early and ordered room service before their official 7 pm opening time. The staff made an effort to accommodate my request, which i appreciated.

Irfan, at the reception desk was extremely polite and pleasant to start with. He was all smiles from the time he welcomed us till the time checked in and left for our room. He surprised us further by offering us an upgrade to a room with a queen bed and harbour view! the property: taj has always been close to our heart - every property that we stayed. The one in kochi in particular is in a most heavenly location. No one can resist the view of the backwaters leading to the sea. What a treat! restaurant, food & amenities: food was very tasty as expected and the ambience in the restaurant with a view of the back waters was divine. The people at the restaurant, especially ram, saiju and chis-tin treated us with utmost care. They made us feel as if we were the most important people there. Services: apart from the above services, we have to mention an-war who took care of our luggage with a most warm smile and offered us any help that we needed. Just one point : it is a very old property and needs a facelift very badly, but is maintained in a very clean and very hygienic manner. It was indeed an experience of a lifetime! thank you, taj family!

We, family of 3 adults, stayed for 3 nights. We had booked a room with sea view with twin bed. The Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive provided us with one of their larger rooms with an extra bed. The view from the balcony, overlooking the marine drive, with boats and ships floating by, was fabulous and very relaxing. The behaviour of the staff, be it at their restaurant or for providing room service, was always courteous. The complimentary buffet breakfast had a large spread. And mostly anything outside their menu was also available on request. The location of the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive is excellent with close access the the marine drive, ferry and many shops and local eateries. Forte kochi is 10 minutes by ferry. Overall we had a fabulous, very relaxing and interesting stay at the gateway Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive which has a old world ambience with all the modern amenities.

I booked for one night stay at the gateway Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive and, the stay was comfortable, the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive is located in the centre of the city. They offered a complementary cruise ride in the evening, since we didn't have time for any other sightseeing in the city, i opted for this cruise ride and my family enjoyed it. My kid went for a swim in the pool and loved it. We had food at the bubbles cafe inside the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive and food was very good, tasty and portion quantity was also adequate, they had an elaborate buffet but i opted for dining la-carte, service was very good. Rooms were comfortable and combined old world charm with modern amenities. I give 5/5 stars for the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive and it's services.

Was able to plan a beautiful anniversary surprise for the wife with the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive staff over the email and whatsapp communication. They pulled out a beautiful surprise by setting the room up with balloons and playing our song as we entered the room. Would recommend this place highly due to the courteous & hospitable staff. My support mainly came from the lobby manager mr. Nithin, whom i highly recommend to connect with if you booking this stay with taj vivanta ernakulam.

It was nice experience, with the whole crew of the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive, nice hospitality, good food and kitchen staffs, serving people are so nice with their good behavior. Great amenities, like swimming pool boating provided by the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive team was so nice. Housekeeping staffs are so good, any how my total experience with the taj was amazing, me and my family are delightful. The last two days was so great, anyway thank you so much taj.

During my checkout they offered me welcome drink and they upgraded my room with nice sea view. Next day i ate unlimited breakfast whatever i wanted they provided me nicely, staffs are polite they know how to serve a guest.

Short stay while on an official trip. Staying here for the first time after its become a vivanta property. The entire property is undergoing renovation and the completed parts are good. Location, food, and service are excellent.

The location of the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive is convenient. There's a big market nearby. Guests can take a walk in the marine drive through the inside gate of the Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive. The executive room was good with all the necessary amenities. All the staff were polite, well behaved and helpful. Check in and check out was smooth and quick. Food items were good. Overall i had a pleasant stay with my family.

Stayed at gateway Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive in ernakulam and enjoyed the scenic location. A great experience and enjoyed the stay at gateway. Great hospitality and pleasing staff disposition experienced made. Me feel at home. Neat rooms, excellent food and location is different from many other Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drives. Will go again

Excellent Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive, in kochi cbd. Minutes walk from broadway and the spice markets. I booked an ocean suite and the room was great.

If you are new to kochi and want to experience fort kochi, wilmington island and also want to visit the city, this is the best place to be. I booked a harbour view king bedroom with a great service. Staff were extremely humble. We were also offered a complimentary marine drive by the vivanta and splendid experience. Food is really great here and breakfast buffet has all kinds of kerala cuisine totally enjoyed best experience

The room given was not great plus breakfast didn’t have many options being a star Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive expected a bit more

The Vivanta Ernakulam, Marine Drive is nicely located on the marine drive with easy access to the marine drive boardwalk, ferry terminals and restaurants. The room was comfortable with a good sea facing view. Overall an enjoyable stay. Hotel staff was helpful and courteous.
