The gateway is a beautiful property, green with peacocks. In fact it's a destination in itself! once you are there your visit is complete with nature walks, swimming pool, sunrise view, long walks and excellent food. The place is clean, and the staff is very helpful and polite. So if visiting madurai plan an extra day to spend in the Gateway Madurai. Only remember the check in time is 2 pm. The only direct flight from delhi reaches at madurai at 8 30 am. So there are many hours in between. If the room is available you get can one early on extra charges. Or you can visit some places. The meenakshi temple is a 15 minute drive from here. The gate is located on a hill. The road uphill is full of trees. The view from here is excellent. The heritage building of 1889 and well preserved. The place has a colonial look.

We had a lovely stay at the Gateway Madurai. It is undoubtedly the best location and ambience for a family trip to madurai. From the Gateway Madurai, we could see the entire city of madurai. It was lovely sitting at the 'moon deck' and watching the entire madurai town lighted up below and the full moon in the skies. We could see the towers of meenakshi temple from here. It's so close to and merged with the nature. Saw peacocks so close and even fed a few of them. Food was tasty and if good standards. The staff at the Gateway Madurai were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and luxurious. I would strongly recommend Gateway Madurai gateway for a pleasant stay at madurai.

Our stay at this property was excellent. It’s a beautiful property extended in about 10 acres with peacock roaming around and lush green with flowers. It has history attached to it. Very clean property and well maintained. The staff was very polite and helpful at all times. I specifically remember om from front desk, muthuraj from housekeeping and subhash from restaurant. The food was excellent everything tasted fresh and delicious. Me and my mom enjoyed the food a lot. Lots of choices for breakfast and dinner. I will definitely stay here again, great place for kids and i fully recommend everyone to try this property out.

Had a weekend trip to gateway taj. Had pure booked and had a good welcome from the front desk reception. Hassle free check in was done with in few minutes. Was escorted to our room and the details of property was detailed to me and my family. Evening had a walk around the property to be greeted by peacock across the property. Swimming pool is good for you to relax and rewind dinner at the restaurant was too good, you can request the chef for your special needs. Overall had a great stay at taj gateway, madurai
