The Golf Retreat

Room was nice and clean, all basic amenities were there, however, few things were also at the same time such as an electric kettle, bathroom slippers, etc. I'm mentioning this because of the kind of exorbitant rates that are charged don't commensurate to the amenities provided. Moreover, shillong is quite warmer now compared to what it was few years back, hence, we actually felt the need for the air conditioning badly, especially because it's summer. Now since they are already aware of the current load shedding situation which is going on for quite sometime, it was a surprise that there was no power back up and we had to sleep quite uncomfortably for the whole night until it was restored early next morning. Location and views are good, but, if such rates are charged without the basic amenities, i think it's not value for money. However, i would give full marks for the view & location of the golf links.

The stay at golf retreat was pure bliss. The staff is courteous and ever helpful. When we reached, our room was already prepared for us. The cleanliness and ambiance of the room and the The Golf Retreat in general are super cool. The housekeeping staff is ready to help you even at odd hours. I requested for 3 water bottles at about 5:30 in the morning and i was provided with the same in no time. The location of the property is really a thumbs up. A huge golf course is right in front of the The Golf Retreat where you can really enjoy your morning walks. The restaurant of the The Golf Retreat provides super tasty cuisines both in veg and non-veg options with high hygiene standards. Definitely would suggest this The Golf Retreat for a shillong stay. Wish to return there!

Hotel is located near Golf course, a little away from City centre. Rooms are of decent size, but sparkling clean and tastefully fitted. The heater was a welcome equipment in The cold weather. The bathroom was very clean, with a good shower and essential toiletries. The breakfast spread was limited to Puri bhaji and continental, with eggs on order, although of good taste. Dining was at The same restaurant, which is small, and has limited options for vegetarians. Service was very attentive though, at The restaurant, as well as housekeeping. Overall, a good place to stay definite recommend.

The stay was very cozy. Rooms were clean and had heater to warm up in The chilling cold. Room services were fast and privacy of The guests was well maintained. It is located in a lovely place. The only thing is that The taste of The food had no difference. Breakfast should have more variety. Other than this The stay was value for money.

Rooms clean and equipped, manager and house keeping very helpful, modern rooms modern style, parking space is good but entry and exit can be better, price is good for the stay considering what else is available.

Kid friendly, nice rooms, clean bathrooms, prompt service, friendly staff. The thing they can improve is their breakfast menu, add some variety and avoid repetition.

Wonderful place to stay. Scenic view from the The Golf Retreat and peaceful place to stay away from all stress of regular life. Marvelous. Will visit again.

Except for The food our overall stay was great. The view from The room was pleasantly good. Polite staff and well behaved.
