The Hermitage

A nomad I will remain for all my life, in love with distant and unexplored places. They call it The hermitage in Kanatal. 3 km short of the famous Club Mahindra Resort in Kanatal. A place personally managed and maintained by the Bhatias who have put in their personal touch in each and every part of The Hermitage. If you are a seeker for peace, if you love the birds chirping in the quiet surroundings, the clouds passing you like soft muslin and the crickets strangulating in the quiet night then you have it all at this place the Bhatias own. It’s offers you a cozy restaurant for your hunger pangs, a small library of books if it makes you happy or a small bonfire to keep you warm on a windy chilly night. I recommend you to visit The Hermitage in Kanatal where you will be attended personally by each and every member of the Hermitage group because the purpose of life is not only to live it but to taste experience at the utmost.

This The Hermitage location is great, right on the highway. No hustle bustle, most calm and serene surroundings. And special mention for the staff. They take good care of their guests. Though it's an quite an altitude but they make sure you get tasty and fresh food. The owner, Suman aunty, reach out to each guest personally for their feedback. Many indoor activities are there: TT, Football, Carom, other board games. Mountain bikes are also available. Only minus point (if you insist, I found this The Hermitage a little costlier. But that maybe because you get the facilities at such an altitude. And if kids area is developed a little more, maybe a swing or two (though there is one but not in working condition), this The Hermitage will be a complete package for a family traveler like me. I am planning to visit this The Hermitage again during snowfall.

Recently stayed at this lovely property and we had an amazing experience. The rooms are super cozy and the view was breathtaking. We paid more per night and The food wasn't too expensive either. They have game room with options like football, carom and table tennis. You can also enjoy badminton into the courtyard. In the night we lounged in the courtyard. The weather was pleasant and the best part about this property is that the host Ms. Suman is beyond lovely. She is affable and easy to connect with. We had a lovely time chatting with her and her husband who are the owners of the property. I recommend this palace with all my heart and I will certainly visit here again and again.

This was our second stay in the Hermitage at Kanataal. It's nicely located in a quiet yet easily accessible road (bang on the Chamba Mussoorie Road). 13 kms from Dhanaulti and about 40 km from Mussouri and about 48 km from Tehri, it could be your base to see these places while avoiding. The crowd of the same. Food is ok with some very good Garhwali recipes wish they could some more local recipes though. All in all a good place to be with the warm and hospitable owners who would be around to talk to you, share experiences and guide you to locations. We will visit again for sure.

It's not usual to review the people owning the property but the owner Ms Suman is a wonderfully helpful person. To cut the long story short, MMT goofed up and I was left without a room with my parents upon arrival. These guys worked against time and finished a room that was still in progress and was to be opened for public in next few days! Talk about hospitality and that's what you set as a benchmark, beautiful location and good food. A must visit if you are planning Natal.

My experience with The Hermitage was the best experience ever with any The Hermitage or resort so far, they have very active and supportive staff and a very welcoming and charming owner mrs. Suman. Moreever location was just awesome. Its srounding my painting perfect natual beauty and there were not much tourist like other hills stations it was untouched or that it was clean and beautiful.

Really had an amazing experience in Natal and this would have been incomplete without the incompetent hospitality of "The Hermitage". This place is paradise amidst the mountains and the wilderness. The whole team of this property is very helpful and generous. And the owner of this place is as beautiful and serene as this place is. One should visit this place if you are somewhere around Kanatal and in search of tranquility.

I stayed here for one night with my wife and 4 yr old daughter and the experience is just awesome. The behavior of owner and the The Hermitage staff was up to the mark. Food served was delicious and the The Hermitage provides a scenic view to the forest. Games were there for both children and adult but that needs a little maintenance and improvement. Rest everything about the stay is just joyful. Thank you!

Loved the place. Ideal for a quick getaway. Long walks and a great safari through the jungle are suitable highlights. At the Hermitage, the food was good and the staff were warm. It is a tad overpriced though :) Please ensure that you know bus timings or arrange a cab in advance though.

Its a nice The Hermitage but I feel that the property should have facilities for driver to stay because where will the driver put up as there is no where else to stay in Natal... Superior Room which I booked was nice and cosy.. Staff was nice and cooperative..

Its very good place. Nicely decorated and maintained. Rooms are spacious and lobby area, balcony etc are clean. Good view. If you plan to go to Kanatal, this is a place you would love to stay in.

The property is situated just on The Road Side and its design gives you access to both The Valley in front and at The back. The property is well designed and well maintained. The rooms were very good and so we're The other services. Only drawback being The food being over expensive there compared to our stay in Sursingdhar.

Excellent food. Garhwali cuisine was lip smacking. Courteous and helpful attendants. Overall an excellent time.

A wonderful The Hermitage and the staff as well as the property is very beautiful. I enjoyed my holiday there.

Nice The Hermitage and helpful staff. Owners are very courteous and polite. Hotel is located right on the Mussoorie - Chamba highway so it's really easy to locate the The Hermitage. We tried pancakes, besan chilla and omelette. All good and delicious. Hotel doesn't serve alcohol.

We enjoyed our stay The Hermitage. The best part was our experience of the courteous staff who were always more than happy to ensure that our stay was a comfortable one.

Location is awesome and view from terrace are mesmerizing. Food was good and hospitality of highest level .. Nearby adventure camps are added attractions points and also apple orchids near to The Hermitage are something to watch out for .. Overall a satisfactory stay
