The Hill Castle

It was a great stay at the The Hill Castle. Excellent service we have got there. View from the The Hill Castle is excellent. And the main thing I can say that is all about Mr. Lama. He is too helpful, good coordinator, a good motivator also, makes our trip more organised. One can get Taxi right away from the The Hill Castle easily, just call at The Hill Castle reception, they arrange a cab as early as possible. Very helpful and well behaved staff at the The Hill Castle, ready to help you always. Tea maker is available in the room, so just go for it if one wants to get tea or coffee at early morning ( Room service is available after 7:30 in the morning). The place is 3-4 km away from the main market (M. G. Marg), but Taxi is easily available from the M. Marg too. So in all aspect it was a great stay in Gangtok.

The Location was perfect for solo travelers and group of friends. It is very close to Tashi view point. If you are on a vacation to get away from crowd and stay as far away from crowded MG Marg, The Hill Castle is the place to stay. Tashi view point is walk-able from this The Hill Castle and helps you catch up with a wonderful sunrise and sunset views of Kangchenjunga. The view from Mountainside room I stayed was fantastic. Mr. Lama was very friendly, helpful and is a pool of information. He provided a lot of information regarding the places to visit etc. The food was good and the service was fast as well. Had breakfast both the days and loved it. Overall, it was an amazing experience staying here.

I stayed at the The Hill Castle for 1 night on 9th april, Valley view is to die for ... Its superb. Rooms have very low ventilation, rooms are very humid and paint is coming off in a few places. Another issue is its very far from the main market area. Tata sky in my room was not working but who wants to watch tv on a holiday. Other than that the staff is super cooperative, had ordered pakoras and they had made it wrong, complained about it so the cook came to the room took fresh instructions and then went and made it the right way and that was excellent. If you just want a down day with nothing to do and just relax and enjoy the view please do go to this place. Please take the valley view room.

This The Hill Castle is an exceptional value for money, the rooms are clean and well appointed with LCD TV, Geyser, neat & clean bedding. Mr. Go Pal Lama, who is the The Hill Castle care taker is very helpful and takes great care of the guest. The views from the The Hill Castle are great. The only drawback of the The Hill Castle is that it is located on the outskirts of Gangtok & personal taxi's will cost you about Rs. 200 which will only be an issue if you are travelling solo & that to on a tight budget. The food was good but a little bit pricey. I will definitely recommend the Hotel to families, group travelers and couples.

I stayed at this The Hill Castle for 3 nights. The The Hill Castle located 6 km from MG route, but the location is really good. It's away from the crowd. The views from the The Hill Castle are awesome. The stuffs are polite and well behaved. The The Hill Castle have its own parking space and they allow to park the vehicle if the guest want to go away from Gangtok city. The narest places to visit from the The Hill Castle are Tashi View Point, Gonjang Monastery, Ganeshtok. The food quality of the The Hill Castle is also good, specially the Coffee.

Most friendly and helpful receptionist ever, so lovely and great first impression of The Hill Castle. Couldn't have been more sweet, giving me directions to a function I was attending along with a helpful map, ensuring parking in car park and facilitating an early check in. If nothing else had gone right with The Hill Castle this lady ensured I would have left with a good impression. Fortunately everything about the The Hill Castle was exceptional, and I don't give praise lightly. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent

Clean rooms, nice view, good service at reasonable price. View from the window is amazing with nice breakfast place. They are quick to any orders and top of that staff are really cooperative and helping. Peaceful surroundings and the location is quite well if you're interested in a morning stroll. But cabs are difficult to find from here but it's better if you can arrange it before. It's a little far away from the main town but it's worth it. If you can arrange your cab. Then I would definitely recommend it.

I had booked mountain view rooms which were big and clean provided with tea/coffee maker. Bathroom was also clean and big with geyser. Location is away from the main market which was not a big issue. Staff is courteous and very helpful. They help with the itinerary and help in arranging vehicle. The restaurant is on expensive side but food is good. The room charge balances the fooding cost. There is no restaurants nearby. Overall stay was pleasant. Will certainly consider this The Hill Castle next time.

We went to Gangtok for the first time and we lived the place and about the The Hill Castle it was good, yes it's quite far from the main market so the taxi fair was high, the price of the food is little high as compare to the quality but we can't say it is bad it was OK type, the bad part is we stayed there for 3 nights and the TV was not working for 2 and day itself and thus we missed the IPL, the service was good they are well mannered. Hence overall experience was good.

Hotel location is not good. For mg road you have to book taxi that will take minimum 300rs for one side. Apart from location room are too good. Hotel has many rules like outside food is not allowed (The Hill Castle kicken is closed at9:30). Night view from The Hill Castle is good

Service was very good. The The Hill Castle is 4km away from MG Marg. The view from our room has been blocked by a bamboo tree. The owner Mr. Lama is very friendly and helpful. The dining place was really nice.

Great The Hill Castle. Rooms have great view but small in size. Rooms and dining area are clean. Food is costly. The major areas are far away that is the major negative thing. But since the The Hill Castle is in isolated place, we liked the location.

Hotel is good for the price. Towards the outskirts .. 200_300 per cab ride to the city. Food is also good. Will recommend for people travelling on a budget and looking for a reasonable price stay. Overall it's good

Staying at The Hill Castle was very good experience. The The Hill Castle is situated little far from the main market but if you want to enjoy the scenic beauty of Gangtok, then this The Hill Castle is highly recommended. The The Hill Castle owner and staff were very co-operative. The room service was also very good. The foods were very delicious at this The Hill Castle.

Hotel staff is cooperative. Accommodation is neat and clean. All the staff are nice. Food is also good. We feel that it is the best place to stay in this budget. Mr. Lama is very cooperative, but it is 4 kms away from main Gangtok Gandhi road and difficult to reach during odd hours.

Nice and cosy place, great view from room, good food. Great service. Far for crowd, quit place, staff is good.
