The Hill Side

Deluxe room - 2 nights the hill side was a nice homestay. We were hosted by the property owner dhanabalan who was very courteous and helpful. The room was decent sized with clean sheets and a clean restroom. The property has a ro filter and water is provided as needed. An electric kettle was provided in the room to warm up drinking water. Hot water for bath was available anytime as well. Tv was working well with kids channels & wifi was available. Food is readily available at a restaurant opposite the The Hill Side. The room had a fireplace and we wish it was working to heat up the room as it got really cold at night. The room we stayed at had a broken latch and the key did not work well. Room was serviced next day but towels were not replaced. Room had a few non working plugs and we couldn't find any spare to use. The road to the property is a bit narrow with lot of potholes and one needs to be very careful incase a large vehicle meets from the opposite side. All in all it was a good stay.

This is my fourth time at Hill side The Hill Side. The stay all the four times was exceptional. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean and view from the The Hill Side window is beautiful. Complementary breakfast provided is sumptuous, tasty and very much homemade like. The The Hill Side owner Mr. Dhanpal is always at your help and he is always happily willing to answer any queries regarding places to visit in Ooty. The location of the The Hill Side is also excellent as it is close by to major attractions in Ooty as well as close to Charring Cross where you can have access to any medications, grocery etc. All in all it is a great place for families to stay in Ooty and anyone coming to Ooty for a day or two or maybe more are highly recommended to stay in this place.

The stay is great with a hillside view, rooms are well-mentioned by friendly staff. Staff are taking care of tenants very well. Rooms are equipped with TV hot water and each and everything prescribed in the Platform. Stay is quite near to the private bus station of Oooty and within walkable distance from the local bus stop located in between Ooty and Kotaguri main way. Owner Dhanbalan, is very friendly and will arrange every need of visitors within no time, they also arranged a cake as per my friend's request to celebrate my bday. They have a facility to arrange during early check-in, they haven't charged anything for 3 hours of early check-in.

HillSide Cottage is an affordable and very quiet place to stay in Ooty. Our room was Deluxe. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the geyser was working fine. Perfect stay for couples. Only one problem: Not all taxi and rickshaw drivers know this place. So you may end up calling the receptionist for directions. Also, you have to walk down the hill (300m) for the bus/taxi. But we found this good and walking down the hill is scenic and beautiful. I highly recommend this for a couple. 5/5 star experience 😋

It's good The Hill Side for family traveller. Its close to market, so we can go for shopping and for food very easily. Room was very clean and we had been instructed about facilities on arrival. Owner of hone stay was very polite and helpful. Only thing we didn't like was that there was no internet facility and we were three people but initially we were given only one towel only on request we got second towel, hence still we were short of one towel. This should have mentioned while booking.

It was like a homestay and the location is reachable from landmark point of Ooty like caring cross etc in 5 minutes by auto. It's a good place for the family to stay during their vacation and the caretaker Mr. Danapalan is very humble. It's worthy to mention that it is a home away from your home. Coffee, snacks, and dinner, etc are arranged which are homemade and quite palatable. The approach road is quite steep and they have ample car parking space. Overall, it was a good experience.

This is my first time taking family on a trip and i had limited budget then this amazing The Hill Side stay helped me, it was within budget but exceeded my expectations. Special thanks to the owner- he really helped us feel comfortable staying here, also provided additional blankets because the temperature was too low. Although i have one small request, try to provide a room heater because people from warm places can't roam around the rooms without being covered fully. Thank you )

Hill side cottage is in between households. Calm and quite place. Neat and clean also. Separate water heater is available in room. The climate was very cold in the night. Sufficient number of bed sheets and blankets were supplied. Food is not available here, but buffet bfast is available in a restaurant just opposite to this cottage. Kettle available in the room for heating water for drinking. The care taker was very friendly and looked after all our needs properly.

The rooms are clean. Double sized comfortable bed. Boiler available in the room for drinking hot water, geyser in the washroom for shower. Balcony with hill side view of ooty. Host is also approachable. Thank you having us.

Room was clean and good. The staff and the owner is very helpful and good behaviour.

Usually in every stay, they are providing either to prepare tea/coffee or provide prepared one. Here in ooty, they are are charging rs. 40 for one coffee. Also in our room two plug points had problem, power supply failure met frequently. Lift facility was not available. All other facilities are good, including courtesy to customers.

The place was a gem. Just a 500 meters from the room towards the hilltop and you are in for a breathtaking view. Room was neat and tidy, the caretaker was also very helpful and friendly. They do not provide breakfast or dinner but you will find the restaurant right opposite to the room. Best and safe place for the families.

The cottage is neat, well maintained. Very nice and plea-sent stay experience. The host dhanabalan provided us all necessary amenities and required guidelines for an hassle free trip. Highly re-command if you are looking for decent homestay experience.

Clean room, heater facility, hot water for drinking and support from the host for sight seeing.

Pleasant stay at the hill side. Clean comfortable place in the hills.
