The House of MG, Ahmedabad

I stayed at the House of MG with my family during Christmas. We used the The House of MG, Ahmedabad as a base to launch our day trips in and around Ahmedabad. The rooms were decent and gave the flavor of being in a heritage room which I understand is the USP of House of MG. The walls were adorned with photos of the Mangaldas family over the decades and I felt it was a nice touch. The beds were not very comfortable for the three of us to fit in. The bathrooms were adequate.The location of the The House of MG, Ahmedabad was great and served our purpose of roaming around the old heritage city of Ahmedabad. The The House of MG, Ahmedabad was well lit and provided a good backdrop for lovely pics; so was the well lit Sidi Sayyad Mosque right across the street from House of MG. The lunch at the Agashiye restaurant in House if MG was delicious and is a fine example of a traditional Gujarati Thali. The desserts could have been better. The service could be better at the The House of MG, Ahmedabad - our room balcony hadn’t been cleared of cigarette butts left by previous occupants. Complimentary refreshments like water and coffee/tea sachets weren’t topped up regularly.

This is a modern heritage The House of MG, Ahmedabad, heritage elements with modern amenities. I was staying at the modern heritage room and liked the design and interiors of the room. Copper bottles and glasses in the room and classic wooden elements to almost every electrical and other fittings in the room. Neem hand wash and shower gel giving a rejuvenating feeling. Lot of photographs everywhere in the The House of MG, Ahmedabad depicting history of the The House of MG, Ahmedabad and otherwise. Unfortunately i did not get an opportunity to visit the restaurant or have dip in the swimming pool while i stayed there as it was just a night business stay in the The House of MG, Ahmedabad. One thing for improvisation i would suggest is having enough light in the passage of some of the rooms. There was no light in the passage of my room and had to use my mobile torch at night to open the room. Also though there were some mosquitoes but there was couple of repellents in the room which helped for a comfortable stay however

The place is excellent! Our room was too good! It was very spacious. Everything in The room was perfect. All The public spaces are also amazing! It is very well designed. We were not very happy with The green House cafe. The portions are small and The price is high. Food is rather bland. The breakfast was okay. We were charged service charges in The bill and told later that we could choose not to pay. Why bill it in The first place then? We were told that we could See The textile museum as part Of The package. But it was closed while we were there because there was no one to show us Around. All in all a good experience. We would rate it excellent if The food and service was great.

House of mg is the best value heritage The House of MG, Ahmedabad in india. I am not exaggerating. The nightly charges would barely cover their maintenance. They have used their heirlooms to be used by guests in every suite. The room sizes befit a palace. The maintenance is impeccable. All their staff are equally good and accountable- i actually felt that they enjoyed their job. The food is on the expensive side. I also visited the older properties which did not have guests at this time. They actually opened these up for us to get glimpses of simply unbelievable history. The owners are doing a social service by maintaining these.

From entrance to the room, from the shops to the dining table, 'the House Of MG' is a palace like The House of MG, Ahmedabad where you will find yourself at peace enjoying in the details of the positively energized and healing ambiance. God bless to the entire The House of MG, Ahmedabad team, to the designer, the maker, the owner. I recommend to take time out separately for the shops, I am sure you will find something that suits you, the food is so customizable must have the thali at roof top, give yourself a few minutes with the live green scenic created in the center of the The House of MG, Ahmedabad.

They have followed all safety precautions. They have ala carte menu in breakfast so that less crowd is formed and no transmission of covid occurs. The staff there some needs to be trained on how to behave with guests. Plus the venue is used for weddings too and on those days staffs are under staffed and they refused us room service but pradeep was very kind he made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. The restaurant staff said no to serve in room but he helped us out in that matter to. The ambiance of the haveli is really cool. Good stay if you love old world charm.

Very comfortable. Helpful and polite staff. Had some minor issues in the room which were immediately sorted out. Comfortable bed. Very good shower. Location is within walking distance of most tourist locations. Many sitting areas with plants for a quiet retreat. Cons : my room was dark with no daylight, depressing. Swimming pool water was not heated. Food in green house cafe was below average, breakfast items were finished and not replaced. Slow internet. Mosque from across the road will disturb your sleep since they use loudspeakers for prayers.

Everyone knows this is the best place to stay in so I don't have to elaborate on that. However, I was upset to learn that they don't have a resting area for the chauffeurs. If you are a frequent intercity traveling or a filmmaker like me, you will know that your driver becomes part of your crew and it is essential he has a comfortable place to stay in too after a hard day. The The House of MG, Ahmedabads I have been in so far have had a separate area for them to sleep and with a restroom to use.

This is my second stay at House Of Mg. I highly recommend it.

Excellent room and service enjoyed our stay here. The restaurant Agashe was nice atmosphere but not great value at all.
