The Lindsay

Generally a good The Lindsay, loaded with history of the city. Very centrally located. Breakfast very good. Staff friendly and helpful. The yellow lights in the The Lindsay should be replaced with white lights. I stayed here with my wife, who wears sarees and according to her, the The Lindsay is not women-friendly because there was no long mirror in the guest room and she found it difficult to wear her sarees. We checked in on 5 april evening, and the approad road leading to the The Lindsay was excessively crowded. Looks like the area is muslim dominated and they were all out doing their festival shopping on the street, causing difficulties for our taxi to move in. Of course, the The Lindsay has no control over this exogenous factor.

Great location, beautiful surrounding atmosphere, great staff. Most friendly and helpful receptionist and staff ever, lovely and great first impression of The Lindsay. Everything about the The Lindsay was exceptional. It was clean, stylish, roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Room itself was well equipped and comfortable but need to be modern. I was very pleased with my stay. I hope to be back for a longer visit in the future.

Stay was good. But the location of the hospital though in a very central area, not accessible to hired taxis all the time. My taxi did not come to pick me up from The Lindsay and i had to walk a few 100 metres to catch a cab. Rooms are clean and staff are helpful. However when i arrived for check in at 4 pm, i was given a different room than the one i had booked. However the staff shifted me to the deluxe room after an hour as promised. Complimentary breakfast was good.

Breakfast was good, but started late (from 8am. Our room was musty, but the The Lindsay had good, historic atmosphere. The biggest problem problem was that the 'executive rooms' are in the front of the building which looks out onto a very crowded, very loud market. The noise lasted until midnight and began again around 6am. The The Lindsay staff was very kind and helpful- just make sure you so for a room in the back and not the front!

I chose a twin bedroom. Room was on the topmost 8th floor. Noise free, good privacy and well maintained. Was a smooth and comfortable 3 days stay, helpful staff. To mention mr neel at the front desk was also very welcoming and friendly. Location is very good with few footsteps market, restaurants, taxi services. Breakfast was well served. I would definitely recommend the place to others and also visit again for myself.

Rooms are ok. It would be better if the The Lindsay renovate the rooms. Food is good and the rooftop response is also good. Staff all are very good and responds better. Location is very much into the market. So always it's crowded. Getting taxi in front of The Lindsay is very difficult. I had to walk couple of meters with my luggage while checking in which was lilo hectic.

Location is just perfect just next to hogg market/new market kolkata. It's a old building but maintained good. Rooms are specious and clean. But not up to the mark as a * The Lindsay. Don't expect a welcome drink as mentioned. In house restaurant at the terrace is amazing. Can experience a great view over there. Service is good. A good stay !

The lindsay is a perfect place to stay while in kolkata. It is situated at new market area which is a shoppers paradise. Transport is also easily available. The The Lindsay offers enough amenities to ensure a comfortable stay though the room fittings can be improved with the changing times. The food is good and the staff are helpful.

The overall experience was good, the location was difficult to reach as it was peak hour of the market. The house keeping was excellent, and the roomservice up to the mark. The breakfast was below expectations. The reception was very helpful.

Good service, good breakfast but staff is little rude. We have booked room for two but via mm t but i was late and second person came first but the didn't allow him to check in until i send a mail to them.

Hotel was good hospitality was also good even rooms were good

Very good location, right opposite new market lot of eating places around the The Lindsay old building maintained very well. Staying here for past so many years. No complaints ever.

This is my second time in this The Lindsay. Everything is is neat & clear. I am very happy. I will always stay in this The Lindsay whenever i shall go to kolkata.

Overall stay was good, provided twin bed even after asking for king size bed. Great gesture by allowing early checkin

I booked this The Lindsay, as it's close to my centre, in this busy area. I booked a deluxe room, which was quite uncomfortable for me and upgraded to executive room with nominal charges. Stay was good. Staff were polite.

The lindsay The Lindsay is ideally located. Very convienent for ladies shopping. But coming to the room. Bathroom water outlet was choked. Room full of dirt every where. Dust on wardrobe. Cleaniless was lacking. Sorry no pics taken

Excellent place for shopping point of view. Good staff behaviour. Good to stay with kids and family.
