Hope Hostel, by the Sea

The hostel is located at a prime location in varkala which is very near to the varkala beach and cliff. Market and great cafes are just a walk away. The rooms were neat and clean with shared bathroom. The bathroom was spacious with hot water facility. The manager pintu was very helpful and kind enough to exchange my upper bed to a lower one at last moment. The hostel vibes are super-cool and really friendly! there is a common area where you can play games and chit chat with other travellers. I did not face any safety issue. A common kitchen is provided where you can cook your own food. The property was well maintained, neat and clean. The place is accessible to beaches like black sand beach, varkala beach, varkala museum and varkala cultural center by a walk of 15-20 mins. They also org-anise day tour to munroe island which is a worth visit! overall the stay was awesome and highly recommended if you're visiting varkala.

This is my first solo trip and I am really glad that I choose the right place… stayed both in private room and dorm. In private room - The rooms and restroom are clean and fair. Rusted locks and dusty fan was little turn off. The bed was made neat and the place smelled good. The Dorm - this was amazing, well maintained, clean restroom (I am pretty sure they have regular cleaning schedules to maintain the place as it has common restroom for dorm guests) .. had locker facility to keep our valuables safe. The place is cosy had lot of space to just chill and vibe along!! Very friendly host… would strongly recommend the place to solo travellers and small group of friends…

Well, this is the first time I've been to Varkala, and I was looking for rooms near the helipad lane. MakeMyTrip suggested the perfect one, 'The Lost Hostel.' About the Hope Hostel, by the Sea stay, we were around 18 people, and we booked dormitories. It was good; restroom facilities were clean and tidy. The best part was the playing area where they provided table tennis, caroms, chess, and a few other activities. As I am a TT freak, I played for a while. I met foreigners from Germany and Italy, etc. Overall, I would rate it 5 as excellent..

I had an exceptional experience staying at the lost hostel in varkala. From the moment i arrived, the staff provided top-notch service, making me feel welcomed and valued as a guest. The hostel's facilities were clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxation. Rooms were neat and clean. This place isn't for someone who looks for lot of facilities, there's no hot water in washroom. But you can feel the vibe of varkala in this hostel. There's a common kitchen, everyone who's staying there can use. There's a common play area with table tennis table, carrom board and few beds and chairs. Washrooms are very clean here. Staffs are friendly here. This hostel located right at the beginning of varkala cliff. Easy to go to this hostel

I had an incredible stay at the lost hostel. The staff was exceptional, welcoming, and went above and beyond to make me feel at home. They were friendly, approachable, and always available to help with anything i needed. The hostel itself had a cozy atmosphere, and the common areas were clean and well-maintained. The staff's recommendations and organized activities made my experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the lost hostel for an unforgettable stay.

The staffs are friendly and the hostel is located at the beach view and also covered by a trees to making the place calm and silent. The check in check out was very smooth, i travel-led with group but the stay is couple friendly privacy is maintained, room was neat and cleaned. There was also many games to play like table tennis and a common area to chill, eateries and cafes are just near by the stay. It will be worth considering when you visit varkala.

I had lots of expectations but kinda was disappointed due to the lack of cleanliness. It would be a bit better if separate restrooms are provided for each dorms and clean the beds once check out has been done by someone. Other than that it was a fantastic stay had fun time with the other travellers, food drinks are good and the manager of the property joseph is really sweet and good at management and the staff are sweet too.

This hostel is simply amazing..It is the first hostel on the cliff road...Best for bachelors and couples.. Rooms are neat and clean..Kitchen is also there and you can cook your own food..
