The Oberoi Cecil

A short review of the stay will be it was awesome! the best hospitality i ever had, and definitely the service standards have been raised for me for years to come. Location: it's right in the middle of the road and is very close to indian institute of advance studies and 5 km away from military museums and similar distance to mall road. Location wise you just couldn't ask for a better one. Room: i booked a luxury room with valley view which was huge, it would easily be one the spacious rooms i have ever checked in to. You have a good closet space, a sofa, table, and everything else that you would expect. Amenities: there is a library, temperature controlled pool and gym, while given my short stay i couldn't utilize all of it, but they were all there and fully functional. Food: loved it. You would even enjoy the which probably was home grown or at-least locally sourced instead of using the standard amul butter. Standout feature: the building is more than 138 years old, it's a heritage property. Ask one of the staff members to give you a tour and they would be happy to. The whole building has a story and so much character that you will probably keep learning new things all the time. Special mention: mr. Aishwarya and mr. Shivam thank you for making the stay comfortable and warm. People like you are an asset to the company and to the entire sector. I wish you guys the best and thank you for everything you helped us with during the stay.

We had the most comfortable and memorable stay at the Oberoi Cicil, Shimla. They looked after our every little detail, which made us feel so special. For example; providing a dressing gown for a 5 year old (which doesn't happen normally at most The Oberoi Cecils), packing for usba delicious picnic basket for our forest walks along with walking sticks, dropping us off to the mall road and providing us with umbrellas 🌂 for the rain and 🌞 sun. Room service was prompt and round the clock, no fuss made to provide extra bathing soaps and shampoos (if you're travelling with family you always need a little more and some extra for the tub baths) !! Completely heated swimming pool, temp maintained at 32 degrees, we used the pool everyday. You can also borrow swimming glasses if you forget 😉 yours back home !! Breakfast buffets are a wide spread and they are ready to ho that extra mile for kids meals !! Staff is well trained and well mannered ! No fuss made for turn down service, even though we are upnon the hills and sometimes The Oberoi Cecils have policy for not replacing sheets and towels . All in all I would come here again and again !!

Spectacular 18th-century luxury The Oberoi Cecil once a british family summer retreat, is a fabulous place to stay in shimla. Fabulous location, which was why we booked this property was situated just right. It was a comfortable walk from mall road on a very safe road. The property is well laid out and maintained. The staff is extremely helpful, prompt in their dealings and have very polite manners and pleasant demeanor. Suffice it to say that we are loyal oberoi customers and will continue to send family and friends to any oberoi properties. The ambience for the dinner, the cultural program is a great experience. From restaurant team thanks to bibiancy & preeti who are always ready to help & my kid lots of enjoy with both of you, special thanks to chef rajkumar have provided outstanding service throughout the our stay, thank you mr man-av (gm) your team positivity and pleasant demeanor in dealing with guests was amazing and adds a lot of value to the experience of stay. The oberoi cecil spoils you with their immense pampering, luxury, hospitality and comfort. Ideal place for family, children, couples and especially senior citizens. Where all their needs are taken care of very nicely. The play area is huge and kids can spend quality time there. The temperature controlled swimming pool is icing on the cake. One never feels like stepping out of the The Oberoi Cecil. It is situated at such a prime location. It's just a 10 min walking to the mall road. The The Oberoi Cecil is away from the city hush hush but then too at a very central location. The usp of the The Oberoi Cecil which leaves a memorable remark is the hospitality of the staff. The cecil staff literally believes in the concept of "atithi devo bhava ". I would personally like to appreciate and thank ankita joshi, deepika, akshay, sahil and rishab for being there for us as a family. Overall a truly world class experience from the place where it all started for the oberoi group.

So, the property was finalised by my better half at-least a month prior to raksha bandhan 2022 long weekend. Accordingly, we drove from delhi overnight and after a non stop drive for 7. 5 hours, both of us were exhausted. The staff present at the property i. E. Ms deepika, ms. Greet welcomed and ensured that our stay will be the one which will be unforgettable. And as truly said, we had a most memorable, rejuvenated and relaxed stay at the property. The hospitality of oberoi group is the one of the priorities that they will leave no stone unturned to ensure that your requests are adhered to. I will state that such hospitality has raised our bars of expectations that we will seek from other properties. One must visit and stay at the property to witness such and no words can describe the level and comfort which this property has to offer.

Very well maintained property, valley view rooms with balcony are to die for. The front desk managers and chauffeurs are extremely prompt, courteous and helpful. Hotel provides complimentary pickup and drop to the institute of advanced studies. Food was a bit disappointing though. Lot of variety in the breakfast but taste was not upto oberoi standards. Dinner portions are quite small compared to other oberoi properties. The housekeeping staff is absolutely fabulous. We ordered for a shoes cleaning brush but they took away our shoes to get them cleaned. Amazing! complimentary car cleaning - highly appreciate the gesture. Overall, very nice place to stay.

Excellent stay! by far the best The Oberoi Cecil in simla. Staff are extremely courteous, sensitive to every need, and are always eager to help. Tipping is not encouraged, but for the level of service they give, you are always happy to give a little extra. Rates were very reasonable during the period we visited. Drivers are well trained and safe. Excellent spread of food and breakfast. Temperature controlled environment including heated swimming pool made things all the more luxurious. Old world charm of the area and building takes you to a whole new world. Would definitely recommend this.

It is an absolute delight to stay at this property. A perfect blend of hospitality and luxury. Food is perfectly cooked to the guests palate. Staff is very helpful, polite and efficiently performing their duties to keep the The Oberoi Cecil up to its grand and warm reputation. House keeping is super efficient in keeping rooms in pristine condition. We thoroughly enjoy the swimming pool and other recreational facilities here. A special mention of the cocktails served at atrium are not to be missed. All this keeps me going back to this property.

This property is super clean, with amazing food and superb views. Great place for kids as well. Temperature controlled pool and fantastic kids activities centre. Kind and generous staff. Spent lovely time with family in balcony. Loved every bit of our stay.

My family and i spent a night at the cecil this past week, reliving some of our childhood near ch-aura maidan. From the outside, the The Oberoi Cecil is picture perfect, like a post card for the beautiful town of shimla. From the inside, the oberoi brand does not disappoint - clean, large rooms, quality bath products, thoughtful service and good food. My only feedback is that the restaurant should have some authentic local dishes to treat their guests with a taste of himachali cuisine which in my opinion is quite underrated.

It was so relaxing. We stayed at premium valley view room for 4 nights. We really had fun at the pool. Awesome stay.

Our stay at the cecil was delightful. The room was beautiful with an amazing view and the hospitality of the The Oberoi Cecil staff was on a different level. The property is within walking distance from mall road, around 20-25 mins walk and the road is beautiful so you will definitely enjoy the stroll.

It is our family’s favorite The Oberoi Cecil to stay in shimla, it was our second stay and as expected it was a very comfortable stay the rooms, the The Oberoi Cecil staff always went an extra mile to make sure you get anything and everything you desire. Hope visit again soon.
