The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker

We chose to stay at above property during our one day stay at shillong. The property is located in the middle of the town. In general, the interior decor of the room is good, however, outdoor view from room is not very good. When we checked in, we were offered a room on the ground floor which was in the back of the property and had very shabby outdoor view. All curtains were put in the room and one would not like to open the curtains. When we requested the manager to give us a better room, he expressed his inability, saying that we were given the luxury room that we had booked through make my trip. H he offered a suite room with rs. 500 extra price in cash. We requested him that since the room offered to us is not good as per details mentioned on make my trip, they should give us the suite room in the same price. But the manager insisted that we have to pay rs. 500 extra. We did not have much choice. The breakfast was served in our room itself on our request and it had only continental, i. E, egg, omlette, toast and corn flakes with milk, tea and juice.

In a nutshell the stay was very good. Hospitality was mind blowing. The staff and manager were very very good. Let's review one by one, 1. The location is 1 km away from the police bazaar. Landmark wise easily reachable as several govt offices and party offices were nearby. 2. Ambience is good and the room was excellent with a great balcony and a pear tree. 3. The bed and mattress were really good. Very few places i have seen to provide branded mattresses like sleepwell. Coming to pillows i am not satisfied as i am a hard pillow user. 4. The bathroom was good and clean. 5. The breakfast was good. They also arranged dinner on request which was very light, homely and tasty. 6. Room service is excellent. Cons: 1. Electricity in meghalaya is not good every day there was a scheduled power outage at noon and midnight. The homestay has power backup but not for heavy appliances like geyser or room heater. This i felt can be improved since the room cost is near about a standard The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker room cost.

We stayed at the property for three days. While everything went well but they are folks that you have to ask for. They speak when spoken to. They didn't tell us about the little kitchen they have. Do not expect a delicious gourmet meal at the property unless you are calling for food from outside. Breakfast menu is very limited and cooked by their in-house cook who is no less than your maid at home. Pols take note they will ask you for dinner and don't ignore or delay as everything shuts down by 8:30 so youll have to place your order before that. The The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker has no role to play but that's how it is in shillong. Vicky the manager is very polite and soft spoken. Not enough parking space in the vicinity and you may have to get up early incase you have a car park ahead. The The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker is little in the bylanes of shillong but centrally located. Police bazaar is hardly 3 mins drive from the The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker. I recommend them

It was two nights stay at the property. It was nice but few things can be improved especially heating arrangements for winter season (with a single portable heater it's not sufficient compared to the rooms having balcony. I found the balcony slider door lock not working, same being informed to the manager which can be a safety issue for travellers coming from different places. Rooms booked with breakfast- the option for breakfast is very limited, no fruits etc. They can improve on that given the price they charge for the rooms. The working staff were polite and nice. Overall pleasant stay but certainly few areas to look up to.

The Pear Tree - Bed and Breakfast was a revelation for us. we stayed only the night, but it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We were unable to locate the The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker, but they sent someone to guide us to the The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker. A suggestion would be to put up a proper sign board, at the entrance of the street to the The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker. Else its very easy to miss the entrance to the The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker. Overall a great experience, and will surely recommend this B&B to everyone.

We stayed at this place for five night. We had booked one bedroom. Room was specious and had all basic amenities like bed heater, bathroom gyser, warm water etc. Highlight for my stay was really really nice host and the entire family. In this part of India,it gets dark around 5 PM. Host had suggested us for the local places to visit and popular food. I really liked helpful nature of all the staff member Overall good experience.couldnt have asked for more at the cost they r charging. We visited shillong last week. This homestay is an excellent option and is located at walkable distance from police bazaar. The rooms are very clean, and the place has a quaint ambiance. The staff are very helpful. Mr. Vicky was very helpful in directing us to the homestay. He was very personable and helped us with great suggestions of restaurants and tourist attractions. One small thing that can be improved is the geyser in the washroom. While the water is very hot initially, the temperature quickly drops off and it is insufficient for a quick bath!

The stay was good and the property is centrally located with good rooms and clean bathrooms. The rooms are very spacious and the balcony was the highlight. We enjoyed our breakfasts on the balcony. The food options prepared are limited but cooked well and served efficiently. The host dheeraj and the staff vicky are very cordial and took care of us and met most of our requests. I would certainly recommend this for a short stay. Parking is a bit of a challenge as the place has limited space. The pear tree is indeed a cool place to stay.

We have a wonderful stay at this property as the staff was very cooperative and the place was super clean. I would highly recommend this property to everyone who wants to stay at shilong.

The caretaker was very kind and took great care of my stay. The place was silent and peaceful. Overall good experience.

Booked for 3 nights stay, peaceful location, sort of a homestay, excellent hospitality, beautiful interiors, overall will rate good, will definitely recommend.

The property ambience is good but it has no kitchen. The experience is more of a home stay than a The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker. There are no single amenities provided and room charges are very high for a room without any amenities.

We stayed for two night. Mr. Vicky was very nice and supportive person. He had nice nature. Room service. Cleanness, amenities and room size best. We are highly recommend to stay here.

Pear tree The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretaker is located at a nice location which is close to police bazaar but away from its noise. It offers a great room with a very nice balcony. The washroom was very clean and spacious. We had checked other The Pear Tree Homestay | Room & Caretakers in police bazaar before booking this the price point of pear tree was better for the room quality they offer.

Overall experience was okay however the location was hard to find.

If you are looking for a best Bandb in Shillong this is and dont forget to try The food from their supplied menu. Though they dont serve The lunch or dinner but The restaurant they get The food is awesome.

It was a fabulous experience with the pear tree. The staff is extremely cooperative and helpful. They’ve done a fabulous job with their cleaning, hospitality, location, and everything else!
