The Pear Tree | Room & Caretaker

Our stay was delightful, offering a perfect blend of comfort and charm. The room itself was spotlessly clean and clearly well-maintained—a true pleasure to return to after a day out. What made it special, however, was the unexpected view: a beautiful, mature pear tree stood directly outside our window, providing a lovely, peaceful splash of greenery. Highly recommended for a quiet and immaculate retreat.

The place is very well located and has good amenities. We were a group of 11 people and the caretaker was very accommodating in helping us with basic food at 3AM when we checked in.

Very very unsafe guys. The PearTreeHotel, Shillong at Lachaumere. I am given a ground floor room. I was here for work with my infant who's lessp than one. They firstly charged nonsense rates for basic dal chawal and anda curry and boiled potato and one egg boil for two nights for me n my infant. The rates weren't informed before.Later at night the staff gets whistles, sings songs loudly on top of their voices and sadly I was given room on the ground floor. Wifi password wasn't shared by owner and incorrect one was provided by staff. Location is incorrect on the gmap and inside a broken lane. They speak loudly over call. Highly unsafe and not suggested for family, women or solo travellers.

Property location is on the interiors of Lower Lachumiere and is located on one of the dead end which makes it difficult to access. Property location on google maps is also not accurate and we lost close to 60min due to this. We only had morning breakfast during 2 night stay. Food offered on both days was exactly the same however good in taste but only 2 options to select from. Manager was not flexible enough to offer breakfast even 5min prior to their regular time 8am which is too late considering the morning site seeing in and around shillong. Bed was comfortable, however room had so much of noise coming from all parts of this property which is a concern considering privacy. Even the toiletries provided were of substandard quality. Parking is too congested and we had to move our car back and forth multiple times to make space for other cars.

Great personalised care by the Host Dhiraj .Made sure we had a wonderful stay . Will certainly make it a repeat stay in the future .Rooms n bathrooms very clean . The location is very central and accessible to most tourist spots . The breakfast was good but needs a bit more of fine tuning .

The location is good…!! The room is good…!! The breakfast is below average…!! But as the TV doesn’t work, it is a bit difficult to spend time. Otherwise its a decent stay.

Location is near secretariat. Calm & quiet surroundings. There is no ac, although the rates are premium. Food taste is average & in breakfast only 3 options are available. Cleanliness & hygiene is good.

Rooms are awesome and staff is friendly and helping … Manager Vicky guided us to local sightseeing. Overall good stay.

It's located in middle of the city, there is no view whatsoever. Food is average. We stayed in 2 type of rooms, junior suite and luxury room. Both were almost same, the Junior suite had an extra set of sofa chairs. Rooms are not very spacious but reasonable and clean. Staff and service is good. There are no other amenities in this property.

The property was well made, well maintained, rooms were v spacious and well lit. The location of the property was a bit in the interior, where commercial vehicles were not allowed, so we had to walk to the hotel however the staff helped us with the luggage and location. Regarding services, the staff did whatever they could to help us however, wont say the services were great, they were okayish. Overall the hotel has a lot of potential if it improves its menu and services.

Location is very good, quiet and not far from main shopping area, walkable distance. Staff are very helpful and cooperative and service is efficient. They serve food on order which is quite good. The Peartree has homely atmosphere. We really enjoyed staying here.

Clean and cozy rooms, location is very peaceful and at walking distance from Police Bazaar.

Dont book by seeing the inside pictures. Its in midst of a very crowdy traffic clumpsy area and the road to reach the hotel is very narrow. Room look wise good but not neat and its dusty. Breakfast is very limited. Bathroom has no cloth hangers. The area and location is too bad.
