The Promenade

We had one room with sea view and another without. Puducherry has limited beachfront The Promenades and i found the promenade to be by far head & shoulders above them all. The The Promenade leaves nothing left to be desired in terms of location, ambience, staff courtesy & efficiency, food and other amenities. Breakfast is decent, however the rooftop restaurant 'bay of buddha' is something to write home about. Our seaview double bed room was very spacious and had a spectacular view. A little point worth pointing out is that i've been staying in 5 stars for 40 yrs now & i can't recollect any other The Promenade setting up a double bed with 2 duvets. Very thoughtful. Every other place i had to ask for it. The booking site mentioned incorrectly that the The Promenade is not wheelchair compliant as wheelchair service was indeed provided as per our requirement. A special mention regarding the efficiency and courteousness of all the staff especially mr. Hira from reservation, prabhu at front desk, mohan at lobby & priya at rooftop restaurant. The last but most important fact that i must absolutely mention & thank the The Promenade and booking site staff at make my trip (manoj & ritika) is that both of them (The Promenade & make my trip) assisted in rescheduling our stay dates which was necessitated due flight cancellation caused by the cyclone. And at no extra cost. We were there to celebrate my mother's 84th birthday and she vouches that this was undoubtedly her most memorable birthday. That itself makes this my most memorable The Promenade stay.

Visited pondicherry on a family vacation for 3 days during may 2024. After some research on mmt, selected the promenade The Promenade. The The Promenade is situated quite adjacent to the beach and in walking distance to ashram, vinayak temple and shopping. The The Promenade was neat and clean. The room was spacious and equipped with ac, wifi, tv, coffee maker and mini fridge. The The Promenade staff were courteous, professional and very helpful. There are two restaurants, one was a multi cuisine and other on the open roof top having pan asian cuisine. Food quality and quantity were satisfactory. The buffet breakfast offered abundant choice covering continental, south and north indian choices. Special mention on the fresh brewed coffee served at the restaurant. I recommend this The Promenade for those looking for a leisure stay. The prices were reasonable for the comfort offered.

We stayed at the promenade for four days. Overall it’s a decent place although it’s not being maintained in a way it should have been. We saw a cockroach in the corridor of our room and when we brought it to the notice of housekeeping the person just stamped on it and looked at us like why fuss over for this! we even found a rat moving in restaurant. The bathrooms don’t have the separation from wash and wc section because of which its eternally filled with water and can be slippery always. It’s very risky for senior citizens and while one of our elderly parents had a fall fortunately it was not catastrophic. Otherwise i’ll say this is as nice place. We actually enjoyed our 4 day stay here. Staff are friendly and helpful whether it’s restaurant, house keeping or room service. Location is safe and centrally located. If you like sea facing The Promenades this is a great place

We stayed at this property for 2 nights with children. Rooms are good, breakfast buffet was good with some nice local cuisines and lovely spread of bakery items. The best part is the location of the property. It’s on the beach. Some good cafés are in walking distance from the The Promenade. The The Promenade has a good rooftop Restro with great view and ambiance. The thing that disappointed me was that we asked for an extra bed and they provided a mattress and upon request for a bed, the reception person said will get back but never bothered to get back. The next day we saw that extra beds were available in the property. Also, the service personnel was unaware about the availability of some drinks in the rooftop Restro which can be worked upon. Rest we had a great stay at the The Promenade.

Dear team makemytrip, i would like to share my feedback regarding my recent stay at the promenade, pondicherry. Overall, i would rate my experience a 4 - good. The The Promenade's location was excellent, and the staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable, and the amenities provided were of good quality. However, there were a few minor issues that could be improved upon, such as the menu in the restaurant could have more variety. Though food taste was good whatever we ordered. Swimming pool was too small and deep. Overall, i enjoyed my stay at the promenade and would consider staying here again in the future. Thank you for your hospitality. Best regards, vini sharma

The property is at the prime location where you always dreamt of staying i.e. right in front of Rock Beach..All cafés are just a mile away and food here is amazing.. the The Promenade room is exquisite just because of the view it gives that you can spend your day watching the Sea all day and of course wonderful pictures for the gram is must.. few minor things about room is lighting is quite less and switch boards are not much in the room else it’s a cute room categorised under Premium Sea View room.. All in all just loved it to the core

The check in took longer. Even after they gave us the room, the key panel was not working which further took more time. The dinner experience at the restaurant was not great. Though the food was good, service was below par. They were visibly short staffed but fully booked. Same experience during breakfast the next morning. The breakfast spread is about average. This was disappointing. Though the staff were courteous and friendly, the experience was not worth it. Would have to rethink next time.

It was an exceptional experience with promenade. The staff was incredibly welcoming and ensuring every aspect of need and stay are good. The room was very spacious and had the scenic view of beach making it enjoyable. The The Promenade location was another major plus and with a step out we enjoyed the walk out in beach, visit to nearby shops and key attraction places. Overall it was a great stay and hopefully we return on my next visit to this city & The Promenade again

Location is good. But car parking is inaccessible. Rooms are smaller than expected for the price they charged. Food and services are good.

Property is good neat and clean staff is good and cooperative and the location of property is very good

It’s a very good The Promenade but over priced.. and room service is over priced.. I was charged ₹800 with tax for 3 small pieces of fish and chips.. I personally feel when you charge that much you should at least give a filling food..

Location is good, old dated The Promenade, drainage outside The Promenade entrance has awful smell, slow and lazy staff at restaurant

I didn’t get much proper wifi connectivity, other than that excellent hospitality and excellent crew peoples. I enjoyed the stay.

Excellent buffet and staffs were very courteous pool was also maintained well the stay was a wort-able one

Stayed at this property for 2 n, hardly 10 feet away from the ocean. Stunning views from their rooftop restaurant. All their restaurants serve great food, slightly pircey. They also sell hidesign products at 10-30% discount.

location is excellent.dot on the sea shore.one can walk and and walk on the long stretch besides the sea.many tourist attractions are nearby .The room which was given to us on check in had certain issues .The staff is intelligent enough to understand that and provided us a better one without any hitch.in staff.excellent Girl brigade.kudos to them.everything was tasty in breakfast.

Location is just opposite promenade beach and also walkable to french colony. Food was awesome and great treatment from the The Promenade staff
