The Rajbari Bawali

had an excellent, wonderful, fantastic stay at the rajbari bawali. just falling short of adjectives. just awesome. huge rajbari spread over 5 acres area harbouring 2 ponds with swans / goose. this is the property where shooting of chokher bali took place. a bengali movie named bulbul was also shot here. extremely courteous and humble staff. mr. subhojit from the restaurant deserve a special mention. he took extra special care during our stay arranging food as per our requirement and served fresh & hot. he showed us around the property explaining in detail the history of this rajbari. mr. rajesh from reception also served a special mention. the exquisitive food served was just delicious. be it authentic bengali zamindari thali served during lunch or chinese food we tool during dinner or buffet breakfast, each and every meal was just lip smacking. chef of rajbari ke haathon main kya gazab kamaal hai.. we think he can give a tough competition in master chef competition. all in all, a wonderful getaway near kolkata and possible perfect place to relax and rejuvenate. 5 on 5 and definitely recommended to visit this place..

A 200yrs something old zamindar house. Resurrected to welcome modern age guests but still give them the feel of by-gone centuries. This balancing act weaves magic. The staffs are very homely. In a world homes and families are fast disintegrating - a place giving a homely feel is an oasis. A place some 25 kms from heart of kolkata. Every now and then you see an artifact of the past era - like a postal franking machine. They have full menu of a good restaurant. We are strict vegetarian. The food was good. Room service is chargeable. They did it complimentary for inclement weather. But the arrangement for room service is poor. Watched sandhya aarti of tulsi - i have an interest in pooja and enjoyed it. The light arrangement of the place makes it very special at night. There is modern pool. We sat by it. What they can improve upon is - a covered parking space which is well maintained can be added. Swimming costume can be provided on rent- may be then we could have got into the pool. Spa and gym though available - did not interest us.

Pros: 1. Excellent food. For lunch, you will get the zamindari thali which is compulsory. It had everything ranging from prawns/ mutton / chicken. It was just delicious. It was 1700 including taxes. 2. The staff is extremely courteous and very helpful. 3. They have the evening aarti at 6 30 followed by live music by a duo while you can sit and relax with your family by the bonfire. 4. The space is huge and has a lot of photo worthy spots. 5. They’ve added a lot of antiques which was a nice change from city life. Cons: 1. The roads to the The Rajbari Bawali are decent but very narrow with buses/trucks constantly passing by, hence a bit challenging unless you have a driver. 2. The wifi doesn’t work in the rooms. Our mobile data worked just fine everywhere except in the rooms. 3. Try to take a package including meals, cos otherwise it gets a bit expensive. 4. There are limited charging points near the bed side. Overall, it was a very relaxing weekend. It is a very good option for short 1-day getaways from the city.

Property is well maintained. Service is good. However need to mention that the path to the restaurant and the rooms adjacent to it were not wheelchair assessible. My father in law had a very rough ride on the wheelchair. Secondly, in one of the rooms that we stayed in ie 112, the telephone kept ringing intermittently all throughout the night. We had a very disturbed sleep due to it. Thirdly, we found one of the tyres of our car punctured at the time of check out. Most importantly, we booked three rooms at the rajbari bawali. On arrival we were given keys to some rooms in the annexure part of the compund which itselves were not part of the rajbari building but built separately during contemporary period. On protest the The Rajbari Bawali management accommodated us to three rooms at the rajbari itself. During booking there should be explicit information to the client as to where he is getting his rooms at.

I booked the royal suite, but during checkin i was allotted a 2 room shabby in ground floor. It did-not match the room i booked. I immediately returned to front office where ms. Maitree who allotted my room, i informed her showed the picture Ahe urged that it is a suit. I wanted the exact room which i booked. She then allotted me the ivory suit on first suit on first floor 223. That was a suit but different from the one which i saw and booked But it did-not have the chandelier above bed as shown in picture and no tv. Food is very expensive so as drinks. But housekeeping staff are very caring and helpful. Cultural program in evening was superb. Overall a good stay in historic place but bawali rajbari need to train and improve staff in front office to be transparent to guest and not do such things which would bring down the reputation. Thank you.

I visited Rajbari along with my wife and mom in law, and stayed two nights. It is a delightfully enchanting place , and has been created/ restored with such apparent love and affection. We had a wonderful experience. The food was simply superb ! And the most heartwarming aspect of our stay was the way the staff looked after us. Simply outstanding ! Right from our reception, check in , and finally to our check out, everything was handled so professionally and with oodles of warm personal touches ! We strongly recommend the place. Just one issue, we had a room off the left wing corridor at the end, which was infested with pigeons. Our end of the corridor had a regular entourage of 5-6 pigeons !! Possibly something needs to be done ! My compliments to Mr Rawla, Ms Mrinalini and the Team 🙏🙏🙏

We wanted to enjoy nature and a nice and comfortable stay- this place provided us all. Our 51st wedding anniversary was made more memorable by the personal care of staff, particularly by ms nibedita parui. We really appreciate that. We had booked 'zamindaree suite' since its description indicated this to have a separate sitting area. However, this description was misleading since the 'suite' turned out to be only one large room. Please do not call this a 'suite. We felt like having wasted money on a 'suite' which was not there. Except for this little disappointment, we greatly enjoyed rest of the arrangements, the historic ambiance and the proximity to nature provided by the rajbari bawali.

Awesome mindblowing experience 3days at Zamindari Suite ..authentic food taste better than top The Rajbari Bawalis of Kolkata ..old style furniture and excellent designed landscaping and gardens with pond..great hospitality of staff and the evening Aarti gave a warm family feeling of old times..village Bawli has 300yrs old temples. Rajbari is a resort that cannot be matched with any other The Rajbari Bawali or resort in West Bengal...must visit for couples and families and my parents absolutely loved the experience ❤ Definitely will visit again

Property location, security, hygiene, and safety standards were outstanding. Special mention must be made about the food, simply a gourmet's delight. Special mention must be made about the breakfast. However computational glitches at the time of checkout must be sorted out for smooth check out and for saving time. Excellent staff behaviour and on site service.

I must commend the resort team on this great hospitality and the personal attention, from the moment of entering the property to the little sweet treat while leaving, wishing us a happy and safe journey back home

You step back in time to 17th century bengal when you cross the threshold of rajbari bawali. The hospitality is touching and has a personal element to it. Gautam, was a gem who took it upon himself to ensure that my family and i had the best experience at this sprawling property. Food is absolutely out of the world and the lunch buffet is a must have. Rooms are well maintained and comfortable. Loved this place!

It was a pleasant and comfortable stay in the rajbari bawali. We had booked two classic heritage rooms which was right next to the thakur dalaan. We enjoyed the maharaja thali at lunch and a mesmerising musical evening. Overall a great weekend place to visit.

We actually booked 4 zamindari rooms but the room in the ground floor was not similar to the rooms on the first floor. Same category rooms but a the ground floor room was smaller with less room amenities.

Really love the stay. It is magical at the night. Simply magnificent. You will be surprised with the set that presents it to you. Definitely worth the money you splashed

The staff was very cooperative. Facilities are good. Food is also very good and versatile. Overall an excellent place to stay.

We stayed in the zamindari rooms and it was a majestic experience! the entire rajbari was an experience. It’s a pure bliss! the aarti in the evening followed by a classical dance performance and live singing added to the entire experience.

Booked this place for my husband's birthday and it was just perfect. Our duty manager suman was fab and he surely deserves a special mention. The food, hospitality and stay was amazing and will surely visit this place again.

Room was good but not price worthy

They have an unique welcome gesture by bengali culture. Liked staffs attair. Gesture, authentic bengali dining, as well as fusion. Loved the evening performance of prayer, dance and songs. Fully entertained. We spent very good time as my daughter's birthday outing.
