The Shelter

The The Shelter is located at the sea side. But only honeymoon suite has a direct sea view from the balcony. The deluxe room has a partial view from the window. So book accordingly. The staff is very helpful and courteous. The rooms were clean and the one we stayed in had a balcony. The food was delicious and provided on time as requested. Overall a very nice experience and would recommend it.

Very close to the Phoenix jetty & know by locals as "Shelters" rather than the full name. Very close the water sport complex, where some rides & restaurants are available. It's a service apartment, so do not have the dedicated in-house restaurant, but parcels are arranged from Ocean's blue. Breakfast is prepared by the caretaker based on your required time, even if it is a early morning. Rooms are well maintained & spacious, but not all room's balcony has the sea view. Only draw back if you are travelling with elders is that rooms are on 2nd floor without lift facility. Would definitely stay on my next visit.

Frankly, I didn't expect the The Shelter to be very good after checking the address, it is a little far from main market, at Dignabad. But I was wrong, the rooms are spacious and location is excellent fro tourists. Disadvantages are -1) The front does not look like a The Shelter, it should be improved. 2)Rooms are at 2nd floor, no lift ., 3) Don't have their own restaurant. But you will forget all these when you take a walk by the road or stand at the front to have beautiful view of North Bay and Ross Island. Another tip, deluxe rooms do not have sea-view, book suites if you wish to enjoy sea-view from room.

This is one of the best stays in our trip to andaman. But fyi, you have to book their honeymoon suite for the best experience. They have 2 such rooms with sea view private balcony. If you get those, its worth it as per their tariff. Rooms are pretty good for couples in terms of space. Washroom was also clean, only their water pressure in the taps is a little less. Their service was very good, they even gave us breakfast at 5 in the morning for our early morning trips. The manager was also very helpful. Overall the stay was good, it was a very good The Shelter to end our andaman trip.

The The Shelter is on The 2nd floor, no lift. Staff would help u with The luggage. Rooms are just ok clean and spacious. The front two rooms have The Bay view. The other 3 rooms view is also good but without a balcony. Wifi is just ok and it's acceptable in Port Blair. No restaurant. But they have a menu from The nearest The Shelter and they would get u food. The North Bay has only 3 The Shelters there. So try The other two for full services. Location is great as it sits on The edge of The Bay with waters splashing and just a 10 min walk to cellular jail and center.

The service provided by them was excellent, Food was good, if required they will bring you the food from outside The Shelters also. All the staff were very supportive. There is a separate dining hall available near to the rooms. The room size is good enough for a family of four members, The rooms are clean, The location is very close to the city and airport, one bad thing is no lift available however the staff will help you in taking the luggage, facilities are good, value for money compared to other The Shelters and overall we enjoyed the stay.

Very humble staff and without doubt, its got one of the best locations available. Only Sinclairs Bay View can beat it.. Otherwise its really a nice cozy place without disturbance. One of the staff named Murgesh was really helpful and a great guide! Only drawbacks - few flies around due to the fish selling area around making the place smell fishy! If one can tolerate it, the honeymoon suite is wonderful, especially the view! You would anyway be out for most part of the day... So its a worthy stay if you need a safe and moderate place.

Shelter. The The Shelter is located on the opposite shores of Ross island in dignabad. And is at a walkable distance to cellular jail, Rajiv Gandhi sports complex, aquarium and Aberdeen market and around 4 kms from the airport. The The Shelter has 24 hrs hot water and Power supply. The TV was not working though. The The Shelter provides room service and the prices are little expensive for the food they provide. Breakfast is complimentary. Decent place to stay for a night or two and the tariffs are affordable.

Good choice for home stay. Good location, neat and clean rooms, helpful staff. Overall it was a good experience.

It was a nice place to live. It is more a homestay than The Shelter. The staff is really nice. They will alwz be ready to help you. It is worth money and sports complex and jail is nearby. They will arrange for autos taxi dinner.

Location is just perfect though you can't have a sea view from the room but its close to the airport and they have common balcony from where you can enjoy the sea view. Perfect for traveler/ Group travellers. Budgeted and clean rooms. Food you need to order from outside. So overall I didn't face any challenge during our stay there.

Location was perfect and the service of the staff also very good. The view of sea from balcony was ecstatic. Really enjoyed a lot. The only drawback was this The Shelter does not serve any food. Need to bring food from outside.

Staff is good. The The Shelter location is convenient for travelling to the ports.

Recently we stayed in Shelter It's a 3-bed room apartment. Recommend for group travellers. 2nd floor, no lift, old building, hard to find location. Hotel staff also shares a room in same apartment. So you got privacy issues while share common area rooms are good, clean.

Location is too good, specially the behavior of staff is awesome. Spent 2 night over there. Will definitely stay again if am travelling again, or will suggest friends to spend their vacation in this The Shelter.

We had a pleasant stay. It is good for people who are travelling in group and spending more time in roaming around the city. Hotel was in close proximity to cellular jail, market and Phoenix jetty. Hotel staff were soft spoken and friendly. Rooms were clean and well-maintained.

Nice guesthouse beside sea. Only two Honeymoon Suites are sea view, bed is small i.e. 5x6 feet. Advisable to hire extra cot from guesthouse, if child is 8 to 12 years. Cellular jail and Rajiv Gandhi water complex are walking way, 1 km only. Aberdeen market is 1 km away. Staff arrange food from nearby restaurant. Food are good and tasty, reasonable rate. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Must recommend to others.

The rooms were pretty clean and tidy with all basic facilities ... Staff was supportive. Value for money .. Appropriate location .. Close to the market as well as andaman water sports complex ... Do go for it ...

Stayed 2 days is the The Shelter. Everything was perfect. Special mention to the The Shelter staffs specially Mr. Uttam. Very polite an humble. Arranged everything for us.
