The Stone Palace Turtuk

The hotel is at a great location and has an amazing view. The staff is also good. The only issue that we faced was reaching the hotel as you cannot take your car at the hotel doorstep. Its a 15 mins walk from the parking. Other than tha, overall, the hotel was good

the stay is spotted at a 5-7 min climb from the mainroad, but the staff comes to pick us up and help carry the luggage. the room is well-done and the bathroom is spacious. There are many cafes around the place at a walking distance 10-15 mins through the village. the staff is very kind and helpful. Food can be provided if it's included in your package but even otherwise it never felt like they'd say no if we asked for anything. Mr.Hussein gave us an incredible tour about history of Balti language, region and the cultures it has welcomed! overall it was an enlightening experience to be in such a remote village at the Indian border and I'd urge everyone to visit Turtuk, at least once.

Hotel is in unfinished state. Stiff slope staircase climbing to reach hotel at a height of around 50 meters from road level. Room is too small. Hotel is managed by a third person, which is very difficult to coordinate. PROS 1. Hotel owner is a nice person. 2. Food is authentic local food. 3. The owner is also an excellent local guide. For this plus point, get his number from his own hotel, which does not provide booking, but has his number, so call for his availability first.

To reach the property, one has to trek for a while in the uphill. It is difficult for aged people & people above average weight. Otherwise the staff & owner are very nice. Another problem is to get warm water as geyser is not available. Overall it is a nice one.
